All that means is that the governments you're referring to are less enlightened. It doesn't mean that a military is unnecessary. Your hypothetical country would still exist in a world with those less-enlightened countries.

Dinner table discussion topic is how I was thinking of it. XD I WOULD have split it, if the discussion had gone on any further, but the topic changed back to food so I was just going to let it lie.
