Open mindedness is sort of a funny thing, thinking about it. I like to think I'm open-minded, but at the same time maybe I'm not. History class often gets me to shut down when issues like how sexist people were in the past, how racist, or how immoral the robber barons were--since I've felt that not only was history in the past, the people in the past, if they looked to the present, would voice opposing sentiments to the present. But thinking about it now, I've not taken much time to understand why issues of moral are rather important in a discussion. And my shutting down means my preconceived ideas are taking over. And frankly, I can't say I can back up those ideas.

That was pretty insightful. Thanks for that ^^.
