Funny thing is that I've never even tried a baked alaska before

Taradiddle 01-30-2011 05:58 AM

I love food.

But, I just had too many sweets, and now I don't want to think about it. Which begs the question, why did I come in here?

I seem to be a big seafood and pasta fan. Especially pasta with marinara sauce. Mmmm. Lots of meat, too. Not too soft. Uhg, I hate pasta that's too soft.

On that note, I don't like anything too soft or chewy. I like crispiness and crunch. Mmmm.

Also, I am really craving something sweet and chocolaty right now. Creamy, crumbly, and crunchy at the same time. Like... some kind of pudding with fudge and crumbled Oreo cookies or something. That sounds REALLY good right now... ;u;

I don't know if take-out teriyaki, orange chicken, fried rice and fortune cookies counts as Asian food, but I sure do love it too. Oh, and Top Ramen. I imagine take-out has gotta be like the Tex-Mex of Asian food though.

My chinese food would the main stream orange flavored chicken, beef and broccoli, lo mein (or chow mein in some place, the noodle ones), those egg rolls, fortune cookies, and that all I can think of

Taradiddle 01-31-2011 10:52 PM

I always thought lo mein and chow mein were different, but I've never had it, so I wouldn't know.

I don't think I've ever eaten that either, but for some reason, I'm pretty sure I've made one before. I think we did that in Home Studies once. I can barely remember, though, since it was so long ago. No clue why I'd make such a thing and not eat it though...

Taradiddle 01-31-2011 11:08 PM

What exactly is a baked alaska?

Bonnie 01-31-2011 11:20 PM

It's a way to stick ice cream in the oven...

baked alaska

You put cake down, then the ice cream, then a meringue is spread over top of that. You put that in the oven just long enough to brown the meringue and you take it out immediately.

I'm not a meringue fan, so it's possible this is the reason I didn't eat any...

-Oh, I also found this to be interesting: Frozen Florida, the reverse dessert

Taradiddle 02-01-2011 01:01 AM

Hmm, that baked alaska sounds good, but I've never tasted meringue, so I don't know.

Oh me too, I love Chinese, Japanese and have only tried a little bit of Thai but it was delicious. There are so many other culture's food I want to try though; Korean, Indian, Ethiopian, and my aunt said she would take me to some places.

I am also becoming kind of a seafood convert, I used to only eat Crab but I have been trying some types of Sushi, Sashimi and even salmon and I love them. I can't wait for an opportunity to try more.
