Hopefully, Though I'd like to not jeopardize my current job too much in case for some reason I don't get one of the offered positions.

Talk to a coworker and see if you can have them cover your shifts. Let managers know that you're doing it and to let others know that might want the shifts. If they ask why you need the day(s) off tell them you're dealing with a family concern. If they press let them know you appreciate their interest, but it's private. If you can't get someone to cover for you talk to the places you're touring, if they really want you they'll work with you.

I ended up telling them I got a better job and I don't want to work after wednesday. surprisingly turned out well!
