xD Oh wow. xD I like lot of metal bands, and I suppose some rock bands, too, although my problem is - I don't follow the genres as much as the just sound it self - what appeals to me. And it might wary from supposed "pop" to jazz to folk-rock to death metal. But now... -uses Wiki to help her find weay in genre labyrinths of her favorite bands-
But some metal bands I love, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Moonspell (I will give you super hug if you know them, lol), Turisas, some Dethklok. Annd bunch of others I am too tired to remember on hit, most likely.
Godsmack is supposedly both hard rock and heavy metal. xD 30 seconds to mars has hard rock listed in genres, too. xD

Rainy likes Turisas! You're much closer to their homeland than I so it makes sense but almost no one knows about them seems. I didn't until I saw them open for Cradle of Filth. I left thinking Turisas put on a better show. That night at least. I freaking LOVE Turisas and was going to put something together for Halloween for my husband and i but never got around to it.

I'll have to look into Moonspell, hon. I feel like I've heard and yet i can't recall.

Somehow, from I-don't-remember-anymore-how-I-got-to Amorphis music video (they are good, too! Only have not listened enough to call my favs yet... And lot of "heavy" sounding bands don't really fit in "heavy rock" or "metal" genres, such as Rise Against), and then trough some related videos, I found "Stand Up and Fight". Omigosh, it is SUCH AN EPIC SONGG. -melts- And his voice. <3_<3 -melts again- I do like other songs form them, too, but I love how he uses his epic voice there... I always like the most "melodious singing", not the "growlier" pieces from metal bands (the best if both elements are there xD). Such as "Scorpion Flower", "Than Serpent in my arms" and some other are my favorite from Moonspell.

Oh, I also like some Metallica and KoRn songs. I think they fit in these genres... xD
And probably some other I am trying to remember, lol.
