I know New York is completely emptied out-- but I don't know about the Carolinas.

I'M TRYING DAMMIT. We've already had trees pretty much leaning on their sides. O nO

The one thing I can safely say is that the two hundred year old oak tree I call Clyde probably will not fall. o ~o At least I'd hope not. I still climb that damn thing.

Jurinjo 08-27-2011 08:04 PM

@battY: you guys should really have that hazard taken care of if it can crash upon your house! D=

@Demagische: I'm not sure. It's possible it's happened on the cost but no worries over in my part minus flooding in some areas and of course things breaking. Things like a sign that says" we're building a pool soon!" pfft yeah I've been here a year and no construction anywhere. Otherwise there has been a minor dimming of lights but not beyond that. Don't take my word for it cause maybe other areas are worse. We were lucky to be spared of any trouble caused by the Tornado whereas others I know at work were not.

The coast of NC was evacuated. I'm further inland. We had some rain and wind today and lost power, but the storm is only Category 1. It's really not that bad.

Reaver 08-27-2011 09:49 PM

Holy shi- this fing wind is scaring the crap out of me. Also got three tornado watches and a flash flood watch... Yeah any nea sayers on here wannna tell they think this storm is nothin?

Alexander Linden 08-27-2011 09:50 PM

I still say... It's a category 1. It could be much worse.
I had ALL that wind earlier and power failure, and I still think it wasn't that bad.

Lioshika 08-28-2011 12:41 AM

Trak; They're making us come in regardless.

Reaver 08-28-2011 01:07 AM

Yeah well it is still considered a hurricane. I take that more serious than a severe thunderstorm.

Also in other news there are now four containers catching the drops of water from my leaking skylight. XP

Lioshika 08-28-2011 01:09 AM

That's usually a bad sign

Reaver 08-28-2011 01:17 AM

Yeah its never leaked before so hopefully it will hold up so I can caulk it when the rain is done and over with.

Lioshika 08-28-2011 01:20 AM

Let's hope. I'm hoping that I don't get stuck at work tomorrow.

Yes we had Tornados earlier this Spring. Not fun for the people in those areas. I never seen a tornado but it did some damage in Raleigh, Benson, and other areas. My friend couldn't come to work because there was no getting out of his street. Another coworker lost her home. =(

We're having heavy rain and strong winds here because of it.
It feels like it's in the middle of October right now.

Lioshika 08-28-2011 01:21 PM

Sofas it's been strong winds and rain. Some power outages and trees down. I'm at work. And people are actually coming out. Strange people

Jurinjo 08-28-2011 08:33 PM

Some people seem to get out of the house through sheer willpower. In every weather there will be lots of weirdos somehow surviving the trip to a retail store.
