I did stay inside as much as possible but it was still pretty cold in my little piece of the east coast. We are lucky as we have a fireplace but not every house does. Despite our fireplace, I used four blankets and layered my clothing. Attic rooms aren't usually insulated. . .
I saw earlier today on TV that many people are still without power and we still have gas rationing. The three hour+ wait isn't bad in a car with heat. Standing in line with a gas can is a teeny bit different though. One of the gas stations made coco for us all, nice guy. And people use electric can openers? I have a hand crank one, works just fine and helps prevent carpal tunnel since you use your wrist to work it.[/end rambling] |
I live so far inland that we got a tiny bit of snow and that's all.
& it's just as well. I feel bad for everyone who got hit by the storm so severely. All of those people who died... Just awful. ;; |
I think electric can openers are the exception now, but I grew up with one. Was using that as an example. ;). I Think we got rid of it some time ago and always had a hand backup anyway.
That makes me think it's probably not a bad idea to throw one in an earthquake kit, since canned food would be expected. |
