Mizuki listened to everything though the only thing that he had on his mind was the phrase that slipped from his lips "Do you have any idea how long I thought of you...if you were alive or dead...if I was ever to see you again?" He asked though he shook his head with a huff "Though that dose not matter...clearly you are alive and so am I" He stated "Only thing to do is move on and continue with our lives" He said with a nod of his head.
"Now..." Mizuki said sitting up again "I have a plan to get in and out with out any issues" He siad taking out a little vile from his cloak and held it up. In the glow of the fire it was a dark deep red "This is something I had made years ago" He said looking at the gladd "It will stop a heart in the matter of seconds" He said smiling "It took me years to make but a little goes a long way" Mizuki said looking up to Thalion. "We sneak in, you stay on guard I blow a dart at our target then we leave" He said with a shrug of his pale shoulders "It should be just that simple" Mizuki said. He was sure that it was going to be simple but the feeling that something was going to go wrong was a feeling that he couldnt get out of his head. |
Seemed that was it than, he wasn't going to bother talking about it anymore. Mizuki seemed over it so what was the damned point. He hated being at ends with the other but what was done is done and he couldn't take it back. Oh well least they weren't trying to kill one another at the moment. That was a good thing right?
Either way he listened to the other explain his plan, still curious why he had to be dragged along in this. Mizuki could pull this little stunt off on his own and be perfectly fine. "If it was that simple why am I forced out here again?" Seemed like a fair question, if they needed a damn guard for him they coulda took anyone. "now we just have to get there right? Oh fun another day of walking." He breathed out a little before walking back to where he was standing before. He figured the other was going to sleep eventually, maybe the less he talked or replied the better off it all was. It was funny, thinking back on it a little they were almost inseparable... till that day. |
Mizuki sighed a little "You are back up" He stated with a little shrug "I mean...my magic can only go so far" He said "Energy is a valuable thing and if something gos wrong" Mizuki paused a moment before he continued to speak "Hand to hand is not my strong point" Mizuki said looking into the fire "It never was" He said before he smirked a little thinking back to a time when he tried.
"I remember this time along time ago" He began "My master thought it best if I learned hand to hand combat with my magic training" He said "Never have I felt that strong a pain as when his blade drove through my stomach" Mizuki said with a little cringe "I almost died that day" He said with a little laugh "And the only thought that I had on my mind was you" He said again before shrugging "How silly" Mizuki said with a shake of his head as his ears dipped back a little. Moving back he laid down once more as he closed his lavender eyes "Either way...get some sleep" He stated "We have another day of walking ahead of us" Opening his eyes he looked to the sky before closing them again "And by the looks of things the sun will arise within a couple hours" Mizuki said. |
Backup... he thought to himself, anyone could be back up. Why did they drag him back here just for this? Nope it was official fate hated him and wanted to see him squirm under the years of guilt he had already dealt with. If something went wrong Mizuki better hope that he still cared enough to try to help. Though he knew he did even if the other thought that he didn't. Listening Mizuki talk that it wasn't his strong point he smirked a little knowing how true that was.
Though when he went on to speak of how he nearly died in training he shook his head a little. He could guess what Mizuki had done wrong, he never did listen to him the number of times they sparred. Even simple hints on how to block of fake out who he was facing would have spared him such a wound. Not that he had room to talk, he had to get use to a new fighting style altogether being put up against humans and dwarfs mainly. Either way he never breathed a word, he didn't want this little trip down memory lane to keep going. He just nodded a little when Mizuki said that morning would come soon enough. He'd personally rather walk during the dark but that was just in his nature. Even living in the same town as Mizuki all those years his eyes still held a sensitivity to light as did any of his kind no matter the amount of years spent in it. |
Mizuki could take a hint. The fact that Thalion barely spoke was enough to tell him that the conversation was one the male did not wish to have. So be it. Closing his eyes Mizuki turned out the world around him. The sun would arise soon and then the day of walking would start all over again.
At the first rays of the sun Mizuki was up and moving about. Gathering everything that he needed from around the area he stood there for a moment looking at the sleeping Thalion before him. The male was propped up against a tree not that far from where he was. His head was tilted to one side and his arms crossed. Mizuki smirked a little "Even while sleeping he has a scowl on his face" He said shaking his head. Walking over his clothe clad foot kicked out and hit the one of Thalions before him "Get up" He said and watched as the male gave a groan before his eyes opened "We have walking to do" He said with a nod of his head. Mizuki then turned and walked over to the stream where he dipped his hands in before he washed his face. Standing he looked to Thalion "The day is wasting...move it lazy ass" Mizuki said before turning and walking. |
Actually Thal never meant to fall asleep in the first place. Though with the lack of noise in the surrounding area he ended up doing just that. He was so use to the noise back where he had been living all this time. Something was always going on, yes he slept there but it was easier to sleep when it wasn't so noisy. Not that a few hours was going to kill him but he really didn't want to sleep while in the middle of no where.
Though this nap was interrupted as a sudden kick caused him to wake up. It took a moment to even remember who he was stuck traveling with. Though he half wished the other had just left him here. Such a damn simple task and he was stuck with the one person on this planet that hated him, ok there were others that hated him but still. Least they weren't someone he had tried to forget about and failed at doing so over the years. After Mizuki walked off to do whatever he sighed a little. Yeah walking, why didn't they have a horse or some other form of beast to use? They could have made the place they needed to go by nightfall last night. He shook his head a little before getting up about the same time Mizuki called him a lazy ass. At first he started to say some smart ass remark but stopped himself short of it. Why bother? The sooner this was over with the sooner he could go back to his daily routine and he'd be rid of Mizuki... he'd be happy than. Or so he wanted to believe such words, he couldn't convince himself of that. |
Mizuki came back a moment later and looked at the now standing Thalion "Well are you going to move or are you going to stand there?" He asked "Because you know there are things to do..." Mizuki paused "Like walking" With that he turned and began walking. Reaching the trees he was tempted to turn and look to see if Thalion was fallowing him but a little voice told him not to.
Even if the male didnt Mizuki was sure that he would be able to take care of this little thing himself. Though the feeling came back to him that something was going to go wrong. It was one thing Mizuki couldnt shake off. He knew he should listen to his feelings they have never lead him wrong before. Then once again the thought of Thalion reached his mind and he growled low to himself his ears dipping back. Except that case. Shaking his head lightly he sighed and closed his eyes as he walked. It was going to be a long day and by the way his mind was treating him it was going to be a very very long day. Ignoring everything Mizuki just walked. |
He huffed a little wanting nothing better than to smack Mizuki one. Hell it wasn't like he couldn't catch up if the other got ahead a bit. There was the thought to let him walk ahead and do what he wanted. Though he didn't want to think about he punishment for that if word got back to the king worse the commander. He sighed finally before walking, though he kept a fair distance from Mizuki, maybe to discourage talking.
Long day indeed... He wanted things to just go back to how they were before that day. Maybe he could have said things differently but what the hell did it matter now? It didn't. He needed to push the thought aside and accept the fact that this was how things were, there was no repairing it. Though it was bugging him, it seemed like Mizuki wanted to fix them one moment but refused to listen in the same breath. After a while he noticed Mizuki seemed to be walking with his eyes closed,. He half wished he ran into a tree. At the least it would kill some of the current tension. Really this almost reminded him of when they first met, just the roles were reversed. He had tried his darnedest when they were younger to make Mizuki leave him be. Just nothing worked. His kind on the surface wasn't too common so for someone who was fascinated by the slightest thing to leave him be.. was not happening. Or least he was when he was younger.. Mizuki lost that fascination as he grew older. What the hell was he thinking about that for? He cursed his thoughts before trying to ignore them and focus on the surrounding area. Even with the walk they still had they needed to keep a look out. If a scout saw them all the way out here the plan would be ruined, and they'd probably be dead or as good as. |
Mizukis thoughts troubled him but he kept walking. The time was getting late and he was greatfull that when the trees broke and a town was on the horizon that no scout saw them. At least something went right. Stopping for a moment he looked at the town. It was a larger one out of the main kingdom. Finding the person would be easy enough though.
All he knew was this one male was trying to rule over the town. Having bandits and the like working under his wing the town sent for help from the king. Jumping down the little ridge he landed on a dirt road. Standing upright he looked around for a moment before continuing. He half had a thought to stop a night at the tavern but then it changed. Mizuki didnt want to continue this trip even when the one male he wanted to speak to wouldnt return his words. Though that thought also came the fact that he didnt want it to end for the sole fact of who he was with. The mixed feelings let Mizuki continue. No he needed to finish this. It was not until Mizuki reached a large building that he stopped and looked behind him. Thalion was some ways away still "Come now...we need to finish this" He said in a low whisper. When Thalion reached him he spoke again "Okay...the male we need is the lead of this building" He said "We need to get through the back where he is mainly located" He said "Though...your not going to like how we get in" With that he gave Thalion no warning as he opened his cloak and wrapped it around the male as well as his arms in an embrace. Ignoring the first protest he cast the spell. From one moment to the next he they both appeared in what appeared to be a closet. Thank god they didnt land in the open. That was the thought in his mind before he realized he was still almost hugging Thalion. Stepping back he looked at the male "It was the easiest way before you complain" |
They had made it to the town they needed to get to without any trouble? Surely there was something wrong with this... no scouts no nothing was seen along the way and they didn't really take a hidden route to get here. He shook off that thought as he kept following Mizuki. Its all he could do for the time being seeing as he was the one needed to take out the target.
Though when he started to talk about the targets location and that he was not going to like how they got in he knew exactly what that meant. Any time he said that he knew what was coming. Though before he could breath his protest it was done already. Least it wasn't as bad as the first times Mizuki had tried to transport more than himself anywhere. Though Mizuki seemed to stay put for a moment before releasing him, was it bad he almost wished he didn't. Ok now he was being stupid. "Tell that to my head.. " He hissed at him under his breath. Either way they were inside now so what did it matter. Taking a moment he waited hearing a what sounded like two guards walking before he said things were clear. This seemed too easy still... there didn't seem to be enough guards in this place if this was where their 'leader' was located. But he shrugged it off and figured Mizuki was not too long from finishing this and than they could both go report to the king and be on their way. Yep easy... |
Mizuki waited a moment and when he heard the words clear from Thalion he silently left the closet. Looking about before he ventured any further he noticed the room they seemed to be in was like a kitchen area. Okay that was weird...they should have been on the other side of the building. Great. Silently Mizuki traveled along the coridordoors looking around the corners before he took another step.
Stopping outside a room he smiled to himself as he saw it was where they needed to be "Alright...." He said lowly "Stay here and stay alert" He said and with out another moment he slipped into the room silently. Looking around he saw the tables littered with gold coins and jewels. Candles and oil lamps lit the room giving it an orange glow making the gold sparkle. Moving silently Mizuki crept over to the large chair located at the head of the room. Taking out a little pin from his cloak he took the vile from before and dipped it in. Sticking the pin up from the seat he smiled. Yep that easy as soon as the male sat down it would be over. Though just as he was about to leave the feeling of something going wrong came back just as the sound of a door opening reached his ears. Shit! Moving quickly he was up in the rafters in the corner of the shaded room before he even thought of it. Watching he kept his breathing in check as he watched as a male and two guards entered the room. "So do you know if they have entered the town yet?" The male asked and Mizuki faultered. He knew that voice. Listening he watched as the male came into view and Mizukis eyes widened a little "Sander..." He said under his breath. There below him the male stood. Gazing ice cold blue eyes looked around the room as midnight black hair flared to sharp tips. Alot knew him as the Ice Assassin but Mizuki knew him as a friend. Thats why they wouldnt tell him who he was to kill. Watching Mizuki couldnt help his next steps as he jumped down preventing the male from sitting "Yes...we have entered the town" He said as he held his staff infront of him "Awwww Mizuki!" Sander said raising his hands "Its been long my friend" He said with a cold smile "Yes...though it seems we meet on bad terms" Mizuki said his lavender eyes squinting as he looked at the male before him. Sander sighed "Yes it seems so" The male said "So your the one the king sent to kill me huh" The male said turning and looking at the chair before bending down and carefully removing the pin. Holding it up he shook his head "You were always the one to do it the easy way" He said "Unlucky for you friend or not...this will not stand" As that was said the two guards darted forward. |
He nodded a little. Like he had to be told to stay alert when they were in the middle of a place they should not be... Either way he wasn't going to protest as he knew for a fact that this way was covered and there shouldn't be a way for anyone to get by without him noticing and being able to take care of them or wan Mzuki.
Though something seemed wrong... it was too quiet. or a place being over run with bandits and cutthroats. Something was amiss here and he hated that feeling. It got worse the longer he waited. What was taking him so damn long? He merely needed to place the pin and leave he should be back by now, no they should be clear of here by now. Though it seemed whatever had happened was not good. His blade was already drawn and being pulled out of the first person who tried to attack. "What the hell!" Had he failed? No .. someone had tipped the target off. Crap this was not good. A few sorry excuses for casters were among the guards but he used a force back spell to get some distance between the guards and himself. He needed to get to Mizuki so they could get out of here. But from the looks of it he had more to deal with than he was able to. Hacking most of them that came forward down he knew he couldn't keep this pace up, yet there was no end to them. Bandit leader indeed. He smirked finally before taunting them, not like he had anything better to do anyway. "That the best you got? Come on.. I'll remind you why drow are feared.." He warned knowing it was a empty threat but damn it if he was going to go down.. he'd be taking as many as he could with him. He kept thinking back to if Mizuki made it out or failed.. if he failed what than? Let alone who tipped the target off, or why would Mizuki fail. Damn it he needed to focus on his own problems at hand. Death would be welcomed over being captured alive by someone who commanded bandits... |
Mizuki glarded and reflected the blade back at the weilder before casting a spell and watching as the blade melted to hot iron that fell to the ground in a silver glob before heating to much and burning the floor. Though the sight was something to watch he couldnt. Focusing back to the fight he dodged some blades before the spells began.
Spell after spell he cast. Blocking, dodging and jumping back from every attack he could until he felt the cool steal of a blade enter his shoulder, Hissing Mizuki reached up and pulled the blade out before beating the male in the head with his staff. Hissing he looked around him. Great as he took one down two came into the room. How many did Sander order? Shaking his head he was going to fight until he couldnt anymore. Mizuki was huffing and his energy was starting to get the best of him. Next thing he knew he felt an ice cold touch to his arm and he cringed. Looking up he looked into the eyes of Sander "Give up Mizuki...you know as well as I that your energy is all but gone" He said and Mizuki hissed "Heh...its been awhile since we went mage to mage then hasent it" He said before he cast what he knew to be his last spell. Wood from the floor flung forth and captured what men stood in the room. If he was going down he was taking as many with him as he could. "Lucky for you I have more men" Was the last he heard a cold ice covered fist colided with his face. Yep he was going to regret taking this mission. |
This was not looking good, by this time he had heard some noise from another room. He'd assume it was Mizuki. Maybe fairing better than he was at the moment. He smirked cockily all the same, like hell he was going to let on to how beat he was. A number of small hits were taking it's toll on him and he could only use barriers and knock backs so many times. Against a mage he would have lasted longer, hell maybe he would have won but against half a blood army from the looks of it?
He breathed out after getting another wound, he could hardly block at this point. He was running out of energy and strength rapidly. "Out of all the things I've been through..." He breathed out before forcing himself to straighten and using another force back ability to get some distance between the never ending wave. "I am not going to die here!" With that being said his eyes switched from their normal golden yellow to a crimson red as he was preparing to make his final assault. This was going to hurt him as well as anyone close to him but damn it he was going to make it count. Downside to training as a spell breaker fighter all these years was that his own magic, that had made itself known after some time, reacted against him in most cases. The air near him heated for a few seconds before a blast of fire erupted on the men closest to him. Though after that he knew he was pretty much done for. Though stubbornly he stood there with his blade still in hand ready to try to force himself to fight still. if he died than so be it, that was the better option than being taken in alive. Being one of the guards he knew right away what his fate would be, there was too much information that could be useful to someone looking to gain power. He shook his head finally before pushing off of the wall he found himself leaning against and charging forward. Taking out a few more of the fighters. Everything told him he knew this would happen, but his other thought dwelled if Mizuki was alive or not. If he was facing similar odds than no or he was captured already. Though it dawned on him just now why himself and Mizuki were chosen for this. They knew that it had been tipped off! They needed someone to pull off the impossible. |
It was awhile before Mizuki came to but the moment that he did he wished he was still out cold. Hissing he flinched as all he felt was pain. Yep he knew that coming. Opening his eyes to little slits he let them focus to see where he was before he moved. Mizuki sighed from the looks of things and the feeling of the hard floor under a broken body he was in a cell.
Opening his eyes fully he moved from his back to his side as he groaned and coughed the floor before him splattering with blood. Well, that was not good. Moving to sit up he placed bruised pale hands on his ribs and hissed as he felt the broken bones. They couldnt just place him in the cell no why would he think that? An army of bandits and he expected to be fine after he passed out? Yeah right he should of knowen a beating was in store. Opening his eyes he finally looked at the room before him and noticed the cold looking bars around him before his eyes finally fell and landed on Thalion who was leaned up against the one wall that was not bars. By the looks of things he was in no better shape then Mizuki was "This is just great" He spoke to himself. |
He was awake and he had fought tooth and nail the whole damn way. Not that it was rewarding to him in the least. He knew they were as good as screwed when they tossed Mizuki in here. That also meant they had failed. Out of all the missions he had been on and they failed? Why did he have a feeling that Mizuki knew something as to the reasoning behind it.
When he heard Mizuki speak he laughed a little but regretted it as he cringed. "Sleeping beauty over there finally woke up." He had to give himself a moment to breath before going on. "I half thought they had killed you before tossing you in here." Honestly.. he was glad that Mizuki was moving at all. Though he glanced at one of his hands before sighing a bit. That was going to take a while to heal, damn it all. He needed to watch his temper for that reason or he did stupid stunts like using his magic when he knew it liked reflecting itself half of the time. He wanted to question what went wrong but he didn't have the energy at the moment to argue or point fingers. |
Mizuki grunted "It will take more then that low life to kill me" He said moving so he could fully take in what was wrong. Some broken ribs, brusies and cuts. A couple stab wounds....all in all not that bad. Looking to Thalion he looked the male over taking into account everything that he saw that was wrong with him though nothing really stuck out that much besides the males hand. Stretching his own he was glad that they were not broken.
Just as he was about to speak he heard a door open and he sighed "And so it begins" He said to no one as the male he didnt want to see enter the room "Finally your awake! I thought they were to rough and killed you for a moment" The male said and Mizuki hissed "Yeah but what fun would that be for you hey" He said in a grunt moving to sit with his back against the wall. "Awww so your starting to understand!" Sander said before moving to the front of the cell peering in at the two of them "So the king only sent two of you" He said looking at them "How ever I didnt expect it to be the duo of old!" Sander said clapping his hands together making Mizuki hiss. Yes Mizuki and Sander were once close so naturally the male knew of Thalion and what he meant to him but only the outline of the whole story. |
Listening to this conversation he knew exactly what had happened. He bit his tongue though to prevent from saying anything. Great they were set up and Mizuki knew this guy? That was why he wasn't dead. Mizuki hesitated at the last moment. Why did he get the feeling this was going to be a longer night than either of them thought at first.
If they had stuck together than odds were this wouldn't have happened. Though maybe he was thinking too much on the fighting they did when they were younger. It was a thought. Though he dropped it as the person spoke like he knew that Thalion and Mizuki knew one another. Let alone were friends back in the day. This was not looking good, the more he thought about it. Why did they only send two to take out a bandit leader and his army? Especially if they knew that the information was leaked. They were just sent to the slaughter weren't they? if they failed oh well and if they didn't oh well. |
Mizuki groaned "Out of all the information that little brain of yours can hold you choose to remember that?" He asked looking up at the male "How could I not? The boy you sought after and fallowed for years in hopes-" "Shut it" Mizuki said cutting the male off to stop the words he knew were coming "That is something that died years ago and you know that!" He said to Sander though the male just smiled.
"Is that so" He said looking at Mizuki though the smile upon those lips got wider "If it was the case why stop me?" He said and Mizuki growled "Because I am sick of the filth that comes from those lips" He said and Sanders smile faded to nothing "Really now...I remember a time when you trusted the words from this mouth" Mizuki hissed "That was a long time ago...and if I remember correctly it died the moment your ice blade drove through my stomach...the same one that killed my master" He spoke lightly. Sander shrugged "The old man didnt know what he had before him" He said with a shrug "He didnt listen to reason. Wouldnt teach me what I wanted so I ended it" He said with a shrug and Mizuki spat on the ground infront of the male "Yet...anything you asked you got" Sander said "You were always his favorite and only because your special" He hissed his eyes glaring. This was when Sander looked over to Thalion and looked at the males face "Oh...what you dont know?" He asked before turning to look back at Mizuki "Mizuki here has a special talent one that only shows hundreds of years apart" Sander said "One who could use all elements...its rare indeed" Mizuki hissed "So why not kill me? Why keep me alive if you seem to loath me as you do" He said slightly looking to him "Because...there is use for you yet" He said looking over to Thalion "Much use" |
In hopes of what? What was he missing here that was going on. There was nothing before, or at least nothing that he knew about. Why was he thinking about that anyway or in that way. Let alone Mizuki had it right, if there was anything (and there wasn't) than it was dead long ago.
No he didn't know honestly. Yeah he sorta did but he never thought much on it. Mizuki could use any element he wanted, it never dawned on his as being rare or anything because he never bothered looking into magic. Why would he? So what the hell was this then? Well aside from the fact that they just tried to kill the man before the cell. With the last thing that Sander said he motioned for some of his men to come to him. Opening the door he knew that the duo in the cell couldn't fight. This made it all the better. The one was known as a guard so odds of prying information from him were slim to none. But that didn't mean he had to not enjoy himself in the mean time. Sure they could just kill him but where was the fun in that? He'd rather see the two suffer. No he wouldn't kill either... maybe put Mizuki close to death or maybe a days from it. Sander would rather savor the thought of his old 'friend' suffering. Either way he put them both in different rooms. This was part of the plan as well. Once he had gotten bored of the guard he would simply tell Mizuki he was dead. The reaction would probably be priceless. Though sure enough as he thought Thal never breathed a word of information. Such a shame he didn't have a necromancer at his disposal, he might just kill the male and have the body reanimated so he could get whatever secrets he was holding onto. Either way he made sure to add a few new holes to the one Mizuki swore not to care about. Maybe they would both die who knew? He shrugged the thought off. Going to the room he had put Mizuki in he smiled wickedly at him. "It's almost a shame really." He started as he waked to the side of the table he had Mizuki strapped to picking up a small lade and inspecting it. "Your friends race are such proud fighters... sadly I didn't get anything from him before he broke." He laughed a little expecting at least a little reaction. Broke being a word he'd let Mizuki toy with in his mind, it could mean he killed him or not. "Either way I still have you to play with for a while." Though he had put the blade down and picked up a needle before injecting it into Mizuki's arm. "In case your wondering.. it heightens all senses. So pain is multiplied, along with anything else." This normally sped the process along though he was ready to take his sweet time with this one. Putting the needle down he seemed to look over the blade once more debating a little. "I wonder how long you can fight in your present condition. We really should do something about those broken ribs now shouldn't we?" He grinned before moving a tray over near the table. "How about we start there and see how much you scream." |
Mizuki didnt know what to expect when the guards came in and grabbed them though he was a little shocked that they were placed into two different rooms that to him did not make sence. Though in a way it did. Now he polayed the waiting game after he was strung up, chained to a wooden bored with a plank under his feet just high enough to take some of the pressure off.
Mizuki groaned as the meer fact of breathing hurt. Opening his eyes Mizuki heard the door so it was that time was it. Looking ahead he saw Sander enter the room and speak. Broke? The Thalion he knew would never break. Glaring to him as he stepped forward and brought the tray closer Mizuki spoke "You will never hear me scream" He said in a low voice and Sander smiled "I do beleive that is a challenge" He said with a smirk. Time passed and Mizuki was in pain. Gashes and cuts littered a now naked pale body. Mizuki was panting as his hair hung about him turning red from the blood "Hmm...dosent seem like I have hit that one spot yet" He said as he came around to the front of Mizuki with a frown. Picking the knife back up he got an evil smirk "I know..." Reaching up he harshly grasped a pointed ear making Mizuki's eyes widen "No..." He began "NOOOO" he screamed as the blade cut into his ear taking a chunck from the cartilage in the shape of a triangle. Stepping back with bloody hands Sander frowned as he looked at the male "Awww seems he finally passed out" He frowned and ordered the gaurds to remove him. Dragging him back to the cell the guards tossed him on the floor throwing his cloak over the nakid body. Sneering the guard hissed "Why he didnt just kill the mage I dont know" He said closing the door as they walked away. |
((xD i thought i was evil.. though lack of sleep made me forsake details </3))
He thought for sure Mizuki was as good as dead, even before they brought him back. Hell they both were. Even before the little 'fun' their captive was having with them. He was almost counting whatever luck he had that he was still breathing let alone that he wasn't bleeding fast enough to be overly concerned with that at the present time. By the time the guards did drag Mizuki back and tossed him in the cell Thal waited a moment before moving. Though the comment from the guard was close enough to what he was thinking. Hell what was the point in keeping someone alive in this shape? Great, out of the two of them he wished the roles were reversed at the moment. Mizuki knew healing at the least, he couldn't do that without supplies and needless to say they didn't have any. He was almost reluctant to check if Mizuki ha a pulse still. Though he almost was relieved when he found one, no matter if it was faint or not. Great like things weren't bad enough... Well for the moment they were both alive, something good could come of that. Yeah what was he kidding, maybe it would be better just to let Mizuki bleed out while he was out of it. He had already tested the bars and they were magiced .. of course. HE breathed out finally before cringing a bit at the sudden pain that ran along his side. Yeah he needed to take care of that sometime soon. But for now he was a little glad that he had more clothing than Mizuki. For starters it made getting the wounds easier. One thing that his training had taught him.. improvise. He pulled his shirt off before going to work to making strips that could be used to wrap the larger wounds. It wasn't like he had anything else to work with so getting the bleeding to stop or slow was the first step. Even by now Mizuki's body temperature had dropped from the blood loss. The cloak that was thrown in with Mizuki would be used to cover him after this was finished though he cursed a little under his breath seeing as every time he moved it hurt more than the last. "Damn it.. if you die on me in here... I will find your ass in the next life and kill you myself." Empty threat but it was helping keep his mind off the fact that they were both probably dead anyway. It took a while but the major wounds were wrapped at the least and the bleeding had been forced to stop or slow. He was glad that the guards didn't seem too keen on checking what was going on, they might have tried to tell their leader so that the bleeding couldn't be stopped or something. Who the hell knew what this guy was planning but he certainly had done a number on them both. Well this officially sucked... stuck in a cell with Mizuki.. ok that part didn't suck. What sucked was the fact they were stuck here and Mizuki needed real medical and not the makeshift job he had done. Moving again he wrapped the cloak around Mizuki before moving him to the back wall. At the least he could sit up this way without wasting energy. He had half pulled the other onto his lap, not that he was really providing much body heat himself from wounds he should have taken care of. "you better not die... " He said looking down at Mizuki. He could die after they made amends but not before, he'd never be able to live with himself if it happened. Though he almost dared that.. what was he called Sandy? Oh yes by all means push that last button he had left. He'd be one of the few to learn about what happens to a magic user if they are permanently silenced. It would be the last of his energy but it would be well spent. Though at the same time maybe they would be left alone at least for tonight. Not like he could do much more to Mizuki. Hell in trying to get information Thal nearly lost a eye. That was going to leave a scar for certain... like he needed more of those. |
Mizuki was out cold but lucky for him the one thing that they left on him was his crystal. Laying there not moving he remained in a past out meditative state. A day went by and he didnt move. Another soon crept along and into the night before he showed signs of waking. Slowly his eyes blinked lightly before opening half way. Lazily he looked above him and was met with a sight he didnt expect to see. It was Thalion with his head rested back on the wall.
Mizuki closed his eyes again before he opened his eyes again and went to move though regretted it as he groaned. Man everything hurt. Closing his eyes he hissed until he heard a voice speak to him. Opening dull eyes he looked to Thalion who spoke again making some comment about being to stubborn to die. He would laugh if it didnt hurt. Mizuki took a breath "How...a-are you?" He asked Thalion looking up into the males face from where he was. Out of everything he could of asked or been worried about he was worried if Thalion was okay. The next thought that crossed his mind was how they were going to get out of here. He couldnt die here in this place...not like this. |
Maybe it was a good thing Mizuki stayed out of it. Their captive left him alone. Though Thal couldn't say the same for himself. That was fine though, he'd rather that they left the other alone. He was stubborn enough that unless they did kill him he was going to be a thorn in their side.
Though it was late in the evening by now. He was trying to rest, they had already done their little bout of 'fun' for today. Though the groan from Mizuki caused him to look down to check if he was actually waking up. He did make a comment towards him that he was stubborn to still be alive after that. How was he? That was a heck of a thing to ask considering things. "Heh... want me to be honest or lie about it?" Honestly not too well, he had paid more attention to Mizuki's wounds rather than his own. "lack of food or water and no supplies to speak of... i think i've been better." He laughed weakly but winced afterwards pressing a bit on the side away from Mizuki. "kinda surprised to still be kicking truth be told." infection was a thought for either of them. Hell that'd almost be the easy way out at this point. He might be acting or trying to act like things were ok but honestly he didn't look much better off than Mizuki by now. Though maybe they did have some luck. The dwarf that had been there with Thal that day had requested being allowed to take a squad to seek out his missing unit, mainly being Thal. It had been almost a week for a mission that at most should take three days. (took forever on ds!) |
Well being alive was a good thing. Mizuki closed his eyes and took the deepest breath that he could. Things had to change...right? They couldnt die here after everything. No they needed to live long enough to turn back to how things used to be. It was something that Mizuki now had in his head that he needed to do but the first order of things was to get out of the cell but how would they do that?
Mizuki began to think of different ways but everything that needed to be done required energy and all of that went to healing. So it was either a rescue or...a rescue. Mizuki groaned as he turned his head on the lap below him to the side not realizing that it was turned the wrong way so now it rested with his face in Thalions stomach though in his current state he didnt care as his mind took back over and blackness greeted tired eyes. |
In a way he was glad Mizuki went back to sleep, least that meant he was recovering. The others breathing had leveled out after a while the longer he kept his eyes closed. Though that still didn't help the situation in any way. At this rate he was trying to figure out what the best options for dying was in this damned place. Getting out didn't seem like a option, he had tried everything he could think of. But this place was build to keep bandits in... so of course it would be a royal pain to get out.
Even if Mizuki was in good condition the odds that they could walk out of here were next to none. He wasn't sure Mizuki could manage walking even. Though he had lied a bit to Mizuki about one thing. The cell was getting water each day. Sandy would hate to lose his little play things before he had managed to officially break them beyond repair. But seeing as that was the only real supply they had he had been using most of it to try to keep Mizuki's wounds clean. Well clean as possible, but it was the best he could do given their situation. Minutes turned into hours as he kept wracking his brain for any idea, something so off the wall it might work for the hell of it at this point. Dying here wasn't something he planned on doing. Let alone if he did get out of here he was going to beat the living hell out of Sandy. Screw weapons he was going to use a silencer rune on him and literally beat the crap out of him. Well least that was a fun thought while it lasted. Though there seemed to be some kind of commotion going on up stairs. He figured one of the bandits or a small group had gotten out of hand again and were being put in their place. Rescue wasn't even a thought in all honestly. He never failed any of his tasks before so why would it be accepted now? Besides they were told not to fail. He sighed a little thinking over everything, if he had just gone with him... at the least the target would have been taken care of. But here they could end up dying and not even fulfilling the mission. Mizuki shifting slightly caught his attention as he moved the cloak a little to recover the shoulder of the other. He wasn't honestly sure what was keeping him awake at this point, his body screamed at him to rest. But he didn't no he couldn't do that. If they were both out than they might take Mizuki for the hell of it. At least while he was awake he knew for sure they weren't going to bother him. No this guy would rather his victims be awake. But the commotion being heard over head wasn't just bandits getting out of hand. It was bandits dealing with a pissed off dragonkin names Luna as well as a small squad of guard. Whatever the reason Thal kept watching Mizuki as he laid there with his eyes closed. At the least one of them looked peaceful, save the few times the other seemed to be aware enough to feel pain as his face expression changed before slowly going back. Mizuki couldn't die here... out of the two of them if Mizuki made it he'd be happy with that. It meant he had done his job if that happened. Mizuki might hate the guard and that Thal joined their ranks but he did it to protect the ones he cared about... Even if he would rather die than admit it to Mizuki he still cared about him, saying he never wanted to see him again or the thought that they never would hurt more than anything. Even before he had a hope they would some day cross paths. |
Luna was pissed! She slashed at the nearest bandit with her double blades "WHERE IS HE?!" She screamed as she looked to the next bandit "D-down those stair" He said in a stutter backing away. Luna didnt care about the bandit she was after her master. Turning she ran down the stairs and darted into the view. It was dimly lit with oil lamps around the room lighting each cell.
Walking quickly she made it between the cells until she saw them. Sitting on the ground the smell of blood thick in the air. Darting over she looked at them "Here I thought you couldnt look any worse drow" She said with a smirk trying to joke about. Hearing the remark she smiled before picking the lock before her with a pointed claw "Is he alive?" She asked as the door opened and she stepped in just as more of the guard came running down the stairs. |
Thal wasn't sure what to expect seeing as the footsteps were different, they had a rushed sound to them. Though with the door open to the upper floor the noise from up there sounded different as well. Fighting yes, but it sounded more like the bandits were being out matched. What in the world was going on? Though his question was answered as the woman who was with Mizuki before made her smart comment.
"Well... I was glad to see you too." He muttered a little though beggers couldn't be choosers now could they? Though he honestly didn't want to answer her next question. "Barely... I don't think he should go out getting recruited for missions like this.. torture isn't his strong point." A number was certainly done to them both that wasn't doubted but Thal had been too busy trying to care for Mizuki, he couldn't let himself get in the same condition. It was about the time Luna had gotten into the cell and was checking on Mizuki that the dwarf from before showed up. The general and the unit with him had met up with Luna about half way. Though she would have probably made it fine without help, it did make things easier. "Aye.. I'll hav' ta agree with the lass, didn't know know a elf could get uglier." Thal glared a little at the commanding dwarf before making a comment that anyone with half a brain could see coming. "Least I don't look like you." He sighed a little. "Damn the day I'm glad to see a dwarf.. just kill me now." |
Luna sighed as she moved over and looked at the condition of both of them. Moving Mizuki gently she checked him over and her face grew harder the longer she looked over him. "Broken bones, burns, cuts, bruses....you were right hes barely alive" She said before her hand began to glow a light blue. Moving over Mizukis ribs she sighed "And internal bleeding...he wont make the trip home" She said.
Moving over she began to check Thalion over even as the drow protested "Look!" She said as she got sick of the protests "Its bad I know but you have to trust me I do what I am doing" She said before turning to look at the guards "Go to the cart grab my bags and now" She said before turning back to Thalion. At the questioning look she sighed "We figured you two would be in rough shape for how long it took to complete the mission" She said "I grabbed every medical thing I could think of that we would need" She said. Luna brushed fingers mindful of her claws over the different wounds on Thalion "These are badly infected" She said looking at the color of them "If you wanted to save him you would of taken care of yourself as well" She said "How would he fair waking up and finding out that you died from infection because you cared for him and not yourself?" She said with a glare "That guilt...and all because your to stubborn" She said just as the male got back with the bags. "Quickly lay the bed roll out and the sheets" She said "Grab some hot water and better light if we want to get him home we have to do this fast!" She said as the different men began rushing about "We need to stop the internal bleeding if he is to live" He said at Thalions questioning look. |
Ok he knew she was right but still. "Well considering what I had to work with.. I think I did damn well." He knew that they were, she didn't have to tell him. Hell he knew Mizuki was bad off by just how he was acting and the coloring on the bruises and cuts. No one had to tell him that both of them weren't out of the water. Though he did admit at least to himself he was worried when she said that Mizuki wouldn't make the trip. Though she seemed to expect that as well.
The guards she had barked orders at promptly returned with what she requested and followed any further orders she gave. Though the general wasn't happy with this in the least. Why should he be they had to plead almost for the king to grant permission to even attempt a rescue. So the king had to have a idea this would happen. As things were laid out Thal gave up on protesting, if she made Mizuki pull through this than who cared what she did. Though one of the 'men' the guards had brought with them Thal could have lived without seeing. "Oh crap .. they brought you." He cringed a little at the thought of what she was going to do as she walked past Luna and glared at Thal."Of course they bought me, I'm one of the best healers in the guard... and you! Going off and nearly getting yourself killed. What in the name of the goddess would I have told mother?" Thal groaned a little listening to her. Though the dwarf nodded a little agreeing that she was a good healer. "Couldn't have brought any other could you? ... " "She insisted.. and the lass is near about as rock headed as you." Verdia smirked a bit before getting her own supplies, she was glad Luna was here because Mizuki was really bad off. "Your lucky your almost dead... or I'd kill you myself." She sighed a bit before actually getting to work. "Be happy I'm not starting with the cut on your face.. but I will check it later and I'm going to make sure I use the brightest light spell I can think of." |
Luna sighed "You know you to can fight or biker to your hearts content later...right now we need to save my master" She spoke getting a nod from Verdia who soon joined her. The work was quick and fast and soon enough it was finished with a chest wrapped in bandages. Whiping her forehead she sighed "Okay now you, you, and you each grab a corner" She said moving and on three they picked up the sheet with Mizuki nestled in it and carefully they began to move him out to the cart.
Luna knew that her master would pull through he was the strongest person she knew though right now things seemed dimmed. After a while Mizuki was placed on a bed roll in the cart and slowly Thalion joined with the help from Verdia. Soon the cart was in motion and Luna sat with Mizukis head in her lap as she whiped blood and dirt from his face. "Thank you..." She said after a moment "For keeping him alive" |
She had a point, though the two of them commonly fought like cats and dogs when they were near one another. She was going to kill him later and he knew it. Especially if she got her way and was allowed to treat him. Knowing how the general was.. yep he was doomed. Never the less she glared at him before helping with Mizuki. Really neither of them were in good shape. Though she knew how stubborn Thal could be and from things he had told her of Mizuki she hoped that he'd pull through all of this.
Verdia stayed with her sibling, it was odd seeing the two of them near one another, though very easy to tell they were related. She was worried even if she acted cruel to him she was worried. Infections alone could kill someone depending on how bad they were. Knowing Thal he was ignoring a lot of things that were wrong. Besides it would allow Luna some company at the least. Thal honestly stopped paying attention when he barely heard Luna say thank you. He glanced at her debating at first if he was hearing things or not now. "Heh... I'd like to think if things were reversed he might bother with doing the same." Maybe not who knows, he wasn't really sure of anything anymore when it came to Mizuki. "Though if not I can't say I blame him really." His thought was short lived as Verida was determined to check his left eye where it looked like he had a cut from his brow down. It was a small light orb but she made her point with him being a idiot that was certain as she made it from no where before dismissing it, it wasn't even any larger than the tip of her finger but useful for what she needed. "Looks fine to me, seems they missed your brain as well as the eye." She smirked a bit as he cringed keeping both of his eyes closed. "Well if i couldn't see before I really cant now.. damn you." She simply shook her head saying he'd not die from it, it was funny he had lived above ground longer than she had and still couldn't stand a lot of lights. |
Luna smiled half heartedly as she looked down at the pale but calm face of her master as she listed to Thalion speak "He could never hate you" She said lightly as if she was speaking to herself "He just...dislikes you at times" She said with a little smirk before looking up at Thalion with a little shrug of her shoulders as she spoke. Though after that the cart grew silent and the trip back was something of a quick one.
Soon every one was back and the king had the two males set up in the medical ward and proper medical attention was given. Wounds were cleaned and dressed and the two were placed beside each other in a single room just off the actual ward. Luna moved from her place at the end of Mizukis bed as she stretched and groaned as sore joints cracked and muscles stretched. It had been a week to this day that everything was said and rescued yet the healing seemed to be taking its time. Even with light elven magic and the major wounds being healed there was still stress and bruses and cuts plus broken bones that could be healed by the body alone and there was no sense in healing them. Luna knew that she needed rest if she was to continue to watch over her master so with a regretful look behind her she left the two supposed to be passed out males in the room. The whole time the males had been back she had put up with the drow and his rude remarks and quips all the while wanting to see nothing more then the lavender eyes. |
Maybe she was right, though he really wouldn't have blamed the other if roles were switched to just leave him be. Honestly he wished the roles were switched, even when they were younger he hated seeing Mizuki hurt at all. Yet now he was near his death bed and there was nothing more he could do. He kept having to tell himself he did everything in his power that could be done. Though was that enough... Even if they were on poor terms he didn't want to see him die, he'd never admit that though. Not that it had to be admitted.
Even once things were settled and they were back at the castle his mind was hardly at ease. Verdia got permission to stick it out there with Luna but she knew the top two things on her brother's mind. The first one was about Mizuki, and the second was about the fact they had failed the mission. Like he really should be worried about that when they both nearly died. Normally he didn't talk much or really openly take jabs at someone. Though seeing as it was normally just Verida and Luna there... as well as being forced to rest. Oh that was the part he hated. He had too much free time to think. He needed something to do to keep his mind from thinking about Mizuki. He still never opened his eyes or even remotely had any signs of doing so. He hated this to no end, least if he could get off the orders rest than he could busy himself. Once Luna left the room Verdia yawned a little looking at Mizuki before smirking a bit at the current expression on her brother's face. "You might as well be nice to Luna and admit your concerned.. she's not a idiot and you pushing it away isn't going to make him come back any faster." Thal never answered her as she frowned a little, she had seen him in thought before sure but he really was concerned. "I'll be back.. don't you dare try to get out of this bed or I'll request more of that tonic to knock you out." She warned before leaving the room. He shouldn't be this worried, Mizuki was going to be fine and he knew that. Or wanted to think that anyway. But it hurt watching him day in and out just lay there. If he had done his damned job better this wouldn't have happened, even if they failed they could have made it out. He closed his eyes for a moment before looking at his right hand that had the backfire effect on it. Though Verdia had become use to this every so often so it was mostly healed by this point. Not before scolding him that he needed to watch himself before it did real damage. But he quickly returned to his previous thoughts 'just wake up damn it!'. |
Mizukis world was black. It was a never ending sea of nothingness though something felt off to him even in his state. Slowly his mind let go of the grasp it had and sounds began to reach pointed ears. Twitching them slightly he began to notice the sounds of the room and he could mqke out a female voice as well as that of Thalions. Were they still in the cell? No the softness if the bed below him and the smell of medical herbs told him he was not in a cell. So what then?
Slowly dull lavender eyes opened to a little slit. Waiting for his vision to focus it took a moment or two until he saw everything before him. There sitting in a chair was...wait...wad that Thalion? No this person was female...but how could that be? Groaning he reached a bandaged hand up and placed it on a pale forehead "I...feel like shit" a raspy voice said. |
Whatever the two were talking about instantly died when Mizuki spoke. Not like it was anything important anyway. Well not to Thal at the least, it was to Verdia. The girl told Luna she'd stay with the two of them while she rested. They had been taking turns like this for most of the week. Verdia glanced over at Mizuki before glaring at Thal who never moved. "You move and I'll break your leg."
He say a threat coming, she was determined to make him wait till everything checked out before he was going to be allowed to get out of this room. Maybe he wouldn't go stir crazy mad by than. She moved getting up from the chair to smile a little at Mizuki. "Welcome back to the living." Though she never thought that she looked similar to Thal so she might be throwing poor Mizuki for a bit of a loop in his waking state. Something Thal neglected to tell Mizuki, his parents were both alive though his father might as well be dead as far as he was concerned and his sister well he had a twin. Even though Thal never breathed a word his heart had skipped a beat just hearing the others voice. Now he knew he had been given too much time to think. Nothing would come of such thoughts or feelings so why bother with them. Verdia sighed a little glad to see that he finally was awake. "Luna will be happy, she's been worried sick about you. I had to run her out not long ago to get some rest you know." Just waking up he probably didn't want anything right away. Te herbs and everything probably still had a strong hold on him so he was lucky he probably wasn't feeling all of the pain he could be feeling at the moment. |
Mizuki looked to Verdia the moment she came into view but he had to do a double take. She looked so much pike thalion though the breasts on her chest and the hair was different. Okay so now hes going crazy. Closing his eyes he listened to her speak before he grunted "sounds like her" he said softly before opening his eyes again.
This was when he actually looked around the room and noticed Thalion in the bed beside him. Wait...there was two? Looking back to the female he looked to Thalion again Either im dead and this a minds trick..." He paused "Or I missed something..." He said in a tired voice his aching body malign its self knowen as he groaned from pain. |
Verdia knew what was going on the moment Mizuki seemed to do a double take. She laughed a little after he said either he was dead or his mind was messing with him. "Well... I'm sure Thal never said much about his life back home before he ran away. He did have hometown before he came to the place you two met you know."
Thal never said a word, seeing as chatter box over there seemed to have it under control. "He wrote home once or twice, though I didn't think the friend he spoke of would be a high elf." She shrugged. "Either way, I'm his twin sister Verdia. Though I wish we were meeting under better conditions than this." Though she could tell right away why Thal was fond of this elf. But for now she'd not voice a word. She could torment her brother later. "Do you want me to go get Luna? She needs the rest but I think she'd rest better if she knew you were wish us again." She'd offer something for the pain but it was too soon for that just yet. Though she was half tempted to smack Thal, all this time he was out and he was worried and now that he was awake he wasn't saying a damned thing? |
Mizuki lightly shook his head "No...let her rest" He said closing his eyes "She...needs...it" he said in a tired sigh like voice. That was when he heard the comment from his side along the lines of 'so do you'. Yeah he really did need it though the thought of Thalion having a twin was on him mind not to mention the fact that he was no longer in a cell.
Mizuki wanted to ask questions about how they got out and who got them out but something told him he already knew that answer. Turning his head Mizuki opened his lavender eyes again and peered at Thalion. Just as a long strand of hair fell down landing between his eyes and across his knows he spoke "Glad your okay...." He said though that was where his sentence ended as his eyes drifted closed and he passed back out. Though if one looked they would see the little smile curling his lips. |
Verdia nodded a little though the comment from her sibling was probably expected. Even after Mizuki seemed to go back to resting she looked at Thal before shaking her head. "Some else should be as well." Though she knew why he wasn't. She was counting the days for how much longer she could keep him here even. Though once he was recovered enough to leave what than? They were close enough to the town that Mizuki and Thal had met in but knowing her brother he'd be ready to go back to his normal routine back at headquarters.
Mizuki did gradually get better over the course of another few weeks or so. Hardly to the point where Luna was willing to let him just leave. Though Verdia couldn't force Thal to stay like she wanted. A blind person could tell that he cared about Mizuki, the fact the two were so damn stubborn or rather too stubborn to admit to the other was almost driving her insane. At the same time it was funny, though she was unsure if the dragonkin was Mizuki's lover or not. She shrugged the thought off, not like it mattered. At the moment Mizuki was resting again, even being recovered this much he was still weak. "Where are you going?" Verdia hissed at Thal knowing it wasn't going to do any good, he was stubborn like that and there was little she was going to do to stop him at this point. "Your really just going to leave?" "Last I recall I still have orders I need to follow, an those were to return when I was able. Last I was told I could leave." She sighed a little shaking her head. "Yeah if you take it easy, you don't know the meaning of the word." She was still keeping her voice down so they didn't bother Luna who was asleep or at least half asleep at Mizuki's side, and Mizuki himself. "Not even going to say bye to your-" "Like it matters, we were together on this mission because we were forced to be. Nothing more and nothing has changed." She tilted her head a little before shrugging. For two people who refused to talk to one another... Thal was rather defensive at pointing out things were the same and that they weren't friends. "I won't be going back for a while so you better not hurt yourself." He waved her off, he knew what he could and couldn't do but if he stayed here much longer the silence and boredom were going to kill him. Verdia was going to stay to help Luna with Mizuki, though once he got his energy back up he was probably free to leave as well.Besides through all of this the two women seemed to get alone rather well oddly enough. |
