I can't see their revamp taking place in a few months. It doesn't make sense. These kind of sites aren't started and upheld within a few months, otherwise we'd be overrun with a ton of baby sites. I feel like this "revamp" process as they call it, will take a heck of a lot longer. Especially if they want to make all the changes they said they did in their public release announcement.

Heck, look at Malthea or whatever the site-in-progress is called. They've been in development for AGES and yet still not ready for release. If you want a site to be really good upon initial release, it'll take a heck of a lot more time than just three months. :| And with all the changes it seems like Crysandrea is planning on making, I just don't see it getting done in three months. Especially when real life is accounted for in the time it takes up.

Nexess 03-01-2013 03:58 PM

Areishia - Yea, there is always those people who just complain to complain, we've had 'em, it's either ignore them or deal with them in a kindly manner.

Ari - Malthea is taking forever cause they have to keep restarting, Haru and Poet have had artists and coders walk out on them and keep all the stuff they've made for the site, so there have been alot of set backs. Plus Haru and Poet want to have a complete battle system in place for opening, and Poet is the one coding it, so it's taken awhile, though they are pretty close to opening from last I heard. Hopefully it shall be soon, so I can harass Haru :P

littl3chocobo 03-01-2013 03:59 PM

she is a nice person if she likes you and loves to be loved to a fault. if you are a friend she will have no issues being wonderful

she however is a terrible boss and a shitty decisionmaker and if she does not like you bad things happen

>>; honestly a lot of head pixelists seem to have this issue, i sometimes wonder if it is a necessary trait or if it is something that you aquire from the job

Tiva 03-01-2013 03:59 PM

Nexxy.... that site is going to be so awesome... that I may never leave it....

Areishia 03-01-2013 04:00 PM

@Arikana: Well, it wouldn't be the first time that they'd have overestimated the time it would take them to code/make everything ^^;.

Still, they do already have the pixel art for the avatars as well as most commons, not to mention the NPCs.

But even so, I think you're right and the re-launch will take a lot longer then what they've announced.

Arikana 03-01-2013 04:01 PM

Yeah, well at least they want a damn good product to put out. They realize that and have thus continued to wait before releasing.

The point is, sites aren't built in a few months. Even if it's just a revamp. It takes time and the Crysandrea folks just don't seem to be doing that. :|

-Clings to Tiva- I am joining just to harass Haru lol, she knows it too. We used to work together on Zani, she's a pretty awesome person, Poet is nice too.

Arikana 03-01-2013 04:41 PM

Wasn't Poet also on Zan? I think I remember him. o3o Don't remember much of Haru though. /shot

I'd want to join Malthea just to check it out, cause their constant dev stage has me curious. >_>

Nexess 03-01-2013 04:55 PM

Poet and Haru were both on Zan, poet for a much shorter period than Haru, she used to be an Admin there.

Arikana 03-01-2013 04:57 PM

Yeah, I remember she used to be an admin. I just don't think I really got to know her much. XP

Nexess 03-01-2013 05:02 PM

She turned into a lurker owo she'd surprised attack you random threads, then run away cackling.

Ginger 03-01-2013 06:00 PM

Personally I think it's crap how they're wiping out all accounts, items, and currency from those accounts. Many people spent real money on that site and to just delete everything they spent money on is messed up. I won't be returning when it's relaunched.

How is it Trisphee is doing fine with its almost 6k users and Crysandrea can't keep their site going with their 16k users? It is my assumption they've become impatient, money-hungry fools.

Espy 03-01-2013 06:04 PM

The thing that's always stood out about Tris, to me, is the fact that the staff is very close with the users. I don't think I'm special for being on staff; I do all the same things I did while I was a regular user. There's no big difference.

True, I don't know if regular users see me as "different", but Tris staff actually interacts with the rest of Trisphee and knows what the users want.

That sounds like SO much fun! <3 I can see why she did it. >_>

Reyoki 03-01-2013 06:28 PM

I do agree with you on that point, Espy. Being able to have regular conversations with all the staff members has really kept me here. On other sites, the staff always seem like some untouchable high council or something here it's like, "Yeah, I'm on staff, but so what? Let's talk about something fun!" and that really helps me feel like I'm part of the site, not just someone who posts here. I'm a member, not a user.

Espy 03-01-2013 06:37 PM

I get creeped out by the thought that people might actually see me differently from regular members.

Arikana 03-01-2013 06:40 PM

Yeah, I know. Who cares what coloured name we are? We're all one big family here on Tris. A slightly deranged family, but still family nonetheless. And as I learned from Lilo and Stitch, "Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind or forgotten." :)

Espy 03-01-2013 06:47 PM

Pffft, haha. What are you talking about? I am totally sane.

Arikana 03-01-2013 07:22 PM

Yeah, I don't believe that. I don't believe there's a single sane persona in this world. Everyone's got a sense of insanity in them, be a large or small portion of them, it's in there somewhere. ;)

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c5...f00f2cb43b.gif Personally I'm not going back to the site. After being over there for four years I feel a bit betrayed trust wise to have everything just deleted. I can see why they want to clear the data base but at the same time I can name off at least ten or so that have stated they are not going back. I was only over there for the rp's but seeing as the site is being cleared I moved the rp's to other sites. Thus no reason to return as the people I talk to as well moved to other sites. xD

Though I think I stopped caring about Cry years ago actually. But I do think this 'new start' is going to hurt them unless they change what they are planning.

Espy 03-02-2013 04:56 AM

Before I fall asleep: Elidiun has been back in development for a while, now, under new leadership. ...I don't think I'll be going back, and I worry about how Vontrae will handle both Elidiun AND Syndrone.

This is a good point. On Tris, I often forget who is staff and who isn't.

Areishia 03-04-2013 08:02 AM

From what I understood the reason they're deleting all the accounts as well as all the inventories is because a lot of items and palladium (Crysandrea's in-game currency) are illegitimate and were obtained trough the exploitation of glitches. Two Crys users who were ex-staff (one of which hasn't been on the staff in years) even said that there could be around 18 million in illegitimate palladium circlling on the site at the moment. One of them even posted several past ways in which the glitches worked (ways that were fixed).

So, basically with as many illegitimate DIs and in-game currency as there is (presumably) on Crysandrea right now, the economy would be wreaked right from the get-go in Crysandrea v3 if they were carried over. Frankly, if this is indeed the case I can fully understand why they're deleting all the user data and I fully support it as well. This will also delete all the inactive accounts as well of course.

At this point I would also like to mention the following. They are reimbursing users who have spend actual money on DIs with an equal number of Gems (cash currency) in proportion to the number of DIs they have bought.

Also, all Crysandrea v2 users will apparently start out with a certain amount of palladium on the new site. All the TYIs are being kept and will be placed in a luxury shop where they will be purchasable with palladium and gems and from what I've understood the prices of them will be significantly lower in the beginning of the site. From what I've been told all event items and millstone items will also be kept but it remains to be seen how they will be re-released on Crysandrea v3.

I, personally, will re-sign-up on the new Crys when it opens to at least see how it will be (that and the possibility of finally getting a Wintertide Ensemble is just too tempting for me xD). I will remain here on Tris as well though (this site really grew on me in these days and I like it here a lot :3).

At the same time, well, it's obvious why some people would rather not return to Crys after all that's happened.

Red Lion 03-04-2013 01:29 PM

I was disappointed to hear that Crys was closing but I was informed that all users would be compensated for their losses. Thus far I have chosen to remain optimistic that it will all turn out.

But if it doesn't.....

*Get's nice and cozy on Tris*

Batty 03-04-2013 02:24 PM

-cuddles up close to a random user-

Oh Yess!~ We get up close and personal with our members ^.~

I don't know, man. I think what I'll do, is re-sign up, JUST so I have have my username on there again, and then MAYBE pop in every now and again.

But believe me, I am NOT happy about having all my stuff wiped.

Alpha 03-04-2013 03:06 PM

I was never on Crys....but I may signup just for the hell of it whenever they re-open. Also looking at one or two others as well....

Panda 03-04-2013 03:37 PM

Good luck to everyone who going to sign up again.

Arikana 03-04-2013 05:02 PM

It makes me wonder if they truly thought over the decision to wipe everything out and start anew. But I probably won't join. I don't have time for another site. x.x

Glitch 03-05-2013 11:44 AM

I never liked their layout so I didn't join over there o3o

If I was a pixel artist on any site though, I'd just want tons of items! mwahaha >.>

Rosekitten 03-16-2013 09:37 PM

Somehow I don't see that site doing well when (if) they return. A lot of users from what I saw don't plan to go back. I had stopped posting on the site a wile ago so them shutting down hardly matters to me. Though being on the site from when it first opened I could see why there were quite a few who were er ticked from a account wipe.

I think I'm more sad that there were a few people I use to talk to on there and now I have no idea where they went .w. Not that they were overly active either.

Espy 03-17-2013 02:59 AM

Neither do I see Elidiun doing too well once/if it does come back...I mean, okay. First couple of months are probably going to be great, but I don't know how many people will have left due to poor reputation.

Alpha 06-30-2013 11:15 PM

Not trying to necro this at all, but as a quick update I read (from the main Crysandrea page) that they are officially closing. Pixeltweak will be releasing the code and a step by step video tutorial on how to set it up on July 8th. All I can say is just....wow, didn't see it coming.

littl3chocobo 06-30-2013 11:22 PM

i am not surprised, he's closed every other project he's started ^^; though i am not sure what you mean by a code release

Alpha 07-01-2013 12:35 AM

Read here

That explains it all.

littl3chocobo 07-01-2013 12:36 AM

i saw shortly after, my coder might be able to use some of the code for the avatar system on my site so he's keeping an eye out

Areishia 07-01-2013 02:43 AM

I really liked the items and avatars on that site so I'm sad that they're closing it for good... I was rather surprised when the update was basically "We're closing, but here's the code in case someone wants to 'pick it up' ". I'm rather disappointed with Pixel because of this development. Hopefully someone will pick up the site because I just don't want the items and avatars to go to waste, they're my favorite avatar bases and I just simply loved playing with them and the items on the site...

Oh well, that's life I guess...

prezial 07-14-2013 07:17 AM

i played it for a while but i got too distracted with other sites
when i wanted to come back, it was already under construction
it's sad to see the site go )-:
