http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png |

/sits next to Ashy AMOR and watch her fluent in japanese ^-^ @Coda; ooh what other languages you speak in? @Poot; ooh what part of GA? |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png *showers Duchess and Logan with tons of kanji* XD I was more fluent before. Long disuse because of my lack of speaking partners where I live has actually dulled me a lot. |
At least, Coda is around. <3 |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png Indeed. Now there will be gratuitous amounts of Japanese being thrown back and forth. |
Yep ^-^ But can you both post small translation at end of post somewhere? XD Unless you both talk in PMs. <3 |
*drowns in kanji*
I swear... I wanna start speaking random spanish/french now >> |
Michigan, USA.
It rather sucks. |
oooooo~ Duchess AMOR <3 ¿deja para hablar cierto español, para confundir a gente… qué usted piensan? JAJAJA <3 |
It should be known that I UNDERSTAND better than I speak XP Mainly because I think too much and I'm always worried that I'm saying something wrong... So I'd rather not .___.;;;
Esp when typing...... if in verbal conversation, I have no choice but to say it.. but typing.. AHHH my spelling... is soo off. Unless you dont mind tons of "k" instead of "que" etc xDDDD |

Also a fun fact about Japan is that, until rather recently, tattoo's were illegal because tattoos were only worn by Yakuza. Also, The Great State of Mississippi. |

For you, Logan: That's a little different meaning, isn't it? I wanted to say something like "My practice is talking to my friends." Nah, it's not really ten years; after my classes ended I didn't practice much either. Sometimes I would read something or talk to Japanese students, but I only started studying again about two years ago. I don't think it's difficult. It's easier than English! I think Japanese is very logical. |

And yeah lots of people are wondering is Japanese is hard to learn. Yes and no. It may take a while. I hear a lot of people finishing their studies on about 6 years. Well it could take less or it could take more. Depends on how much to like to study and has easy with languages an such...I do think I have kind of easy for languages becuase I naturally remember the meaning of the words after hearing them a few times in movies and stuff. Considering I haven't taken a lot of classes ( just one month in Japan actually ) I think I'm going okay. I don't need 100% subtitles for everything like I used to. I wanna take more but right now I don't have the time or the health. At the time I have to be satisfied with what I can lean online. But I think it's fun and my goal is to try writing something in the future. I mean like a manga or something. Does it sound crazy? I know I'm still a noob but I don't think it's impossible. I feel so comfortable in the story telling and have been thinking about it for YEARS. And I'm still young so...and I have always of course loved to draw whatever. I think I tried to draw "manga" already when I was 4. Count backwards from 19 and you'll get the idea. It's not something I just found like "hey this seems new interesting". I lol'd every time people talked about these "new" Japanese comics. As I had been all over them way before nobody even knew what they were called here. No well I didn't know what they were called eitehr but I knew where they were from. At least...heh... Omg I can talk forever about this. Anyway, Sweden is great too. Kinda. Except that were so boring sometimes and don't wanna learn something new. Yet half of the people here pretends like it's America junior. We're not a freaking multi culture country. Forget it. If you mama's from Iraq and Daddy's from Maroco you're not freaking Swedish. You're a Swedish citizen but you're not Swedish. makes sense? How about if I move to China do I become Chinese? Not really huh? lol Not just that, 80% of all shit on TV is American. It's not even funny anymore. What about other countries like Korea, Japan and maybe India? For an example....Demand I guess but Japan and Korea should have no problem imo. Their TV dramas should be watch able for most people. But no...lets just bring all popular America shows so teens will be happy. And then bring all the talk shows that has nothing to do with anything happening here. Tyra banks, Ellen...whatever they all talk poop. And they go "in America right now, American here, America there"...wow...okay...that was a little interesting but what's next? America again? Okay...woah woah woah! No, I don't hate America, but lets have some variety okay? *tries not to write more* |
@Yuki - Wall of text! *stares at in wonderment* |
Peoples and their Japanese. D:
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png I can just imagine the look of utter confusion on people's faces when they first get on this thread. XD |
You guys should totally go make a Japanese-Speaker hangout.
I would hang out there and try to get you to teach me stuff. I've been trying to teach myself Japanese (because I don't have any Japanese tutoring/classes available in my area) for the last three years. :[ |
Yeah...I'm hopeless. I think I could win a price for being Japan obsessed. But if I do I hope it's a good thing. I'm still sometimes looked weird at for "knowing" so much, apparently. (?) Cause like I said most people here still only knows about here and America. They are like "uuhh Japan?...wut?...do they speak Chinese there?"...like...NO...they DON'T...except if a Chinese guy goes there, duh? lol I swear I could bring up tons of subject about Japan and talk ALL DAY. Without making people bored, it's amazing. At least if they haven't heard it before, which they usually haven't. Before I talked to many people hey thought Japan was still like in the Edo period. Like people running around in oriental clothes and rice hats. ( which some people on the country might do but yeah yeah you get what I'm talking about. ) It's sad and it's not even animes fault cause I'm talking about adults here. gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I'm talking again. *hits the ground with shame* Make me shut up...
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png Silly Yuki, it's nice to hear that people are interested in Japan. ^^ There's still quite a few people in the rural areas who dress up in traditional clothing (and those who run more traditional Japanese businesses like dance schools, flower-arrangement schools, and tea shops). There's also places in Japan where you can dress up from earlier periods. The last time I went on vacation to Kyoto, I actually went to Eigamura where you get to dress up in period costumes and walk around an area built like the Edo period. @ johnny - Hmm... that's an idea! I'll think about setting one up for both people who can speak and those who are interested in learning. |
I'd marry Japan if I could, along with GACKT. WHOOPS! Ignore that... *whistles*
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png Oh you guys' infatuation with that man! XD It's not fair that he's thousands of years old and still looks like that. |
He actually came out with he's real age recently this year. He's supposed to be still 36. WHAT?! Or was it 38? What the hell. But who cares? But I mean yeah...then again I don't care how old he is as long as he's still hot an sings great. Before I discovered him I wasn't even really even interested in music. He kinda opened up that door for me. And honestly when I first listened t him I had no idea what he looked like. I guessed..."old man"...ROFL! SURPRISE!...And yes god... <_<; Tell me one person who hasn't at least heard about him in Japan. If old grandmas at Miyajima starts chatting about him with you everyone has to know. Right?...
|
The Netherlands! Yay... <- not... ;_; I feel ashamed of my country lately
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png In Miyajima? Ye gods, the deer at that place scared the living daylights out of me! I had crackers in my back pocket from the Shinkansen ride and I never felt so sexually assaulted by a pack of animals. And trust me, college was bad enough. The momiji manjuu and those souvenir rice scoops were fun though. @ Silver - You know, up until now I didn't realize what country you're from. You're the first person I know from the Netherlands! |
Yeah They chewed at my shirt and ate my bag tags...so rude... D: But well, they ARE animals...

i took three years of japanese but its been a while since i've reviewed what i learned back then and am a little...rusty. D: also i can't say i'm a fan of gackt, but some of his songs are okay, i suppose. o: |
I was rusty too until I started practicing with one of my friends. I've picked up most of my old skill again although my kanji recognition isn't as good as it used to be and I'm sure I've forgotten a bunch of stuff.
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png I can't say my kanji is the best either since I've rarely ever really needed to write it. Recognizing and reading is no problem, but writing's another story. |
No kidding, me too; ワプロバカだね。 I can just type them so I just need to be able to read what I've written and that's about it. ^^()
|
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...to/2cgj32v.png *nods* Oh, I totally understand. I love automatic kanji input. *nods* |
