Yeah, I know right? It took me forever to get the Slender, Sollux/Mituna horns and Yakisoba Shift items and two of those were actually gifted to me by a friend who is going through some shit now. But all three I would not give away or sell for anything because they have more sentimental value than anything.
I thought that was The Spine. I know nothing of the story behind the characters really other than some are supposed to be robots and there are supposed to be guys that repair them if they need it, and it's a steampunk genre but I have heard some of their music and enjoy that.

Espy 11-13-2013 04:10 PM

Full body wings?

HABIT 11-13-2013 04:21 PM

I think he means this:

Taiki 11-13-2013 04:51 PM

I feel like adding back wings was just a last ditch effort to keep users excited and hooked because they have been so much in demand. xP

HABIT 11-13-2013 05:08 PM

I would seriously not be the least surprised.

Yokuutsu 11-13-2013 05:19 PM

Back wings were meant to be something everyone could get through a quest system. The wings being sold for cash are a betrayal.

HABIT 11-13-2013 05:45 PM

Yeah, ugh. I just don't understand Gaia I really don't.

Areishia 11-14-2013 06:07 PM

Well, the initial way to get back wings (alchemy) was pretty much broken to begin with. Why they couldn't just place all of the recipes in the shop truly eludes me, and them making cash shop items necessary to make most items was a dreadful idea as well >.<...

HABIT 11-14-2013 06:59 PM

Yep, gaia is a greedy business.

Yokuutsu 11-14-2013 08:58 PM

I mean, I could understand offering like a few formulas (same item) and all materials to equal the amount of formulas (so you can make them) for a small amount of Cash, but they should also offer it all for gold (but it should be really cheap on the cash-they way people can and will buy it with cash, and not so high gold prices so...if you want to you can still do it, but sell the items separately)

Espy 11-14-2013 09:52 PM

Yes, that'd make for a decent sink but still offer people who are able to donate another route...

Yokuutsu 11-14-2013 11:21 PM

Exactly and everyone can get the friggin wings some year D:

Areishia 11-15-2013 07:49 AM

The formulas for the wings are soul bound though >.>... Overall I just simply hate the way Gaia made alchemy work. The system is just simply broken beyond repair as far as I'm concerned and the economy is likely to become just as broken (if it hasn't already reached that stage already that is) as it.

I'll be honest, I just don't see Gaia surviving another year, the economy is broken, the games are buggy or 100% neglected, the gold shops get mainly just scraps and a lot of other features are buggy, in urgent need of an update or downright broken to a certain extend. Not to mention how Gaia has been squeezing Gaia Cash into it's events...

Dorian Pavus 11-15-2013 12:14 PM

The people in charge right now are squeezing as much money out of it as they can then they are going to sell it of for every penny they can get out of it, then whatever happens to it is no concern of theirs. That's whats about to happen.

Areishia 11-15-2013 12:56 PM

Well, considering the rumors about Gaia making an 18+ site, I think they'll either do that, or just close it down.

But frankly, even if they do sell it I doubt it will keep on running for long.

Espy 11-15-2013 03:22 PM

I feel sorry for the parents who have to deal with their kids spending money on a site that, to me, barely has any sense of community, like Tris does.

Afraid so. ):

Taiki 11-15-2013 04:08 PM

Jeez... that is the worst. D: I can't even believe it.

Espy 11-15-2013 04:31 PM

What do you mean by putting GC into their events? Like..you need to pay to get EIs, or to unlock stuff...?

HABIT 11-15-2013 04:59 PM

I mean like that one Valentine event where you HAD to spend gold and cash to give gifts with your Valentine because they wouldn't allow you to just give a valentine free of charge.
Skelekitten Plushie About $2.50 for it,
Puppy Love Plushie About $2.50 for it,
Love's Warrior About $3.00 for it,
Heartless One About $3.00 for it,
Not even to mention the health potions you have to spend cash on this Halloween event just to have an edge to surviving.

Areishia 11-15-2013 05:47 PM

The Halloween one is the one I was referring to. The V-day one I didn't mind too much because by that time I was already used to Gaia making a bunch of event themed items for the cash shop... specially the ghost Halloween event a few years ago where the items came with a special recolor... that was only gotten by pure chance. The items were of course in the cash shop >.>...

This year's Halloween event was just simply the most over the top one. Not only did the cash shop potions make it possible to buy resistance, they made it possible to buy actual levels! And to that you add how they introduced the recolors for this year's trick or treat items/set. The recolors could only be obtained by playing a certain game, sounds rather nice, right? It does until you reach level 8 or so from which most people could not advance without spending cash for more moves... I think the highest lvl a person managed to get on that game was 10... and that still left them with half of the items from the set missing...

Espy 11-15-2013 06:32 PM

...Oh, yeah, that's all sorts of fucked up o.o;

HABIT 11-15-2013 08:02 PM

Yes, those things the two of us mentioned, that's the fucked up.

Taiki 11-15-2013 08:11 PM

Wow... I had no idea. I haven't participated in an event there in sooo long. The Halloween Events were always my favorite, I can't believe they would do that!

HABIT 11-15-2013 08:21 PM

Yeah, I loved Halloween events too, and just Blehhhh.

Dorian Pavus 11-16-2013 07:17 PM

I always loved their Halloween and X-mas events, but I can't take that kind of nonsense. I just don't have the patience nor the pocketbook.

Goodbye Gaia, I'd rather keep my rose colored glasses. : x

HABIT 11-17-2013 06:24 PM

Yeah, I just pretty much stay for my friends and my treasured items. I don't even like the way Tektek's going. At least with their tagging system. I'll probably in the future just save any avatars I want to keep.

Crystallyn Whisper 11-18-2013 01:02 AM

It's even worse since the staff isn't talking to the users anymore. People are also being banned just saying the CEO's name in a post. Even though Gaia was the one to tell us the name in the first place. Oh, and it's been pretty much confirmed that Gaia doesn't give a damn about the economy or the community anymore and only care about meeting their quota for the month.

HABIT 11-18-2013 01:20 AM

Yeah, it's a pretty horrible situation that's gonna go down into a flaming ball.

I'm guessing they had too many people bashing him openly so they just had to ban everyone that uses his name?

Espy 11-18-2013 06:49 PM

Uh huh. So now Gaia is a dictatorship-actually-communism-in-practice? -squints- I mean, TBH, I don't see the problem with people bashing the staff -- to me, that's a sign that shit needs to get changed. But then again, most staffs are really touchy about being complained about. I've heard that over in certain sites, people will pounce on you if you so much as criticize a donation item.

Sei 11-18-2013 10:21 PM

Being a former staff member and user of Gaia, I am really sad to hear it has gone that far downhill. I'm glad I left when I did, but I still have some feelings of nostalgia for the days when Gaia was relatively new. If only I had a time machine so I could go back to 2005.

HABIT 11-18-2013 10:34 PM

I started back '07, that's when things started to change apparently.

Yokuutsu 11-18-2013 10:38 PM

Technically, saying his name is name-dropping on Gaia which is against the rules.

Sei 11-18-2013 11:12 PM

I always took it as namedropping had to have intent behind it.

In my opinion, if you're giving feedback on the site, saying 'the GM' is the same as saying the person's name. If your intent is not to bash the person directly, but to offer feedback on the way said person has taken the site in a polite or constructive manner, then I would not call that namedropping and it would not be removed.

Now, saying that <so and so> is a <insult here> would be namedropping as well as flaming, depending on the severity of the insult.

Dorian Pavus 11-20-2013 02:00 PM

I joined back in late '05. I got a CoCo Kitty when it came out. ha. (I miss it ; u ; ) and I do really miss what Gaia was. That is what I think of when Think of it, not the mess it is now. some sites do get really shity about the name dropping thing.

I am one that likes it when sites trust their user base a bit more and have less rules so much as letting the culture of the established community rule over what is right and what is wrong. I've always believed that is the best way to do it. Gaia, Solia and Menewsha have some of the worst communitys & staff because of how hard they police there ToS and the have a metric ton of stuff that's just nitpicking the users at some point.

Yokuutsu 11-22-2013 10:59 PM

I agree on Menewsha nit-picking completely. I mean I posted an rp search. Posting bump was against the rules. Because it's spam. Posting I'm still looking would also be spam due to the fact that there's this thing you can switch to Inactive vs other things, so unless it's been marked inactive (by you) it's also spam to say you're still looking.

Now, Solia? I've had no problem except the item that a user entered in design contests on it and Syndrone Online...from what I understand, no one replied to Syndrone so they went and removed the item...and I don't have the gold for it on Solia. Though that isn't Solia or Syndrone's fault.

Taiki 11-22-2013 11:29 PM

That's so weird that no one on Solia replied to them. Dekkard replied to me when I asked him about it. O:
