Mystical Detective: Loki Ragnarok?
(Not the best of manga/anime, but was fun to see Fenris, Jorm, Hati and Skoll, Hel, and many other things exiled in a laughingly funny Anime.)

Fauxreal 02-22-2014 05:38 PM

If that what it's about? I don't read a lot of manga.

Lawtan 02-22-2014 05:44 PM

No - according to reports, the Nordic dating for Ragnarok - the battle of the Norse gods and heroes against the Jotunn (giants) and the like that would result in only a few lesser gods and 2 humans surviving (and the earth falling, and the Corpse-eater drake destroying the World Tree and...), was to take place today.

The manga is essentially Loki being banished to modern day Earth as a way to prevent these events. Loki there becomes a supernatural detective, capturing the supernatural evil in order to have enough power to force his way back. (Which would launch Ragnarok).

Espy 02-22-2014 05:52 PM

Okay, so technically, the date "2/22" is a very subjective one. People have only pegged Ragnarok as starting today because of the shitty winters we've had and the relative lack to "good" summers.

Fauxreal 02-22-2014 05:55 PM

DAMN! I didn't realize it was suppose to be today! But I only have a few more days till my trip to Japan! Can't it hold out till then?

Lawtan 02-22-2014 06:11 PM

(As indicated by my "according to reports" and Espy's clarification, people are really more making something out of nothing, I believe. Some are using it to celebrate, some are just trying to reinstate the 2012 thrill, etc.)

It should be fine.

Espy 02-22-2014 06:13 PM

If we had, say, sixth months out of twelve of whipping blizzards each year, for three years in a row, and cold summers, only then would I actually consider Ragnarok to be upon us.

Lawtan 02-22-2014 06:16 PM

...Espy's conditions sound plausible for certain polar areas of the world...
*shrugs*

Fauxreal 02-22-2014 07:46 PM

Well - I just hope to not go to hell. :)

Alpha 02-23-2014 01:16 AM

Indeed. Well, I don't see that Ragnarok is actually happening.

Fauxreal 02-23-2014 02:34 AM

I didn't get swallowed by a snake, which is not to say it still can't happen.

Lawtan 02-23-2014 01:12 PM

Fenrir! FEEENRIR! Where are you, boy! I have a nice hand-treat for you...

silverygit 02-23-2014 05:54 PM

Pretty much winter from November till March here :3

http://gocanada.about.com/od/canadat..._in_winter.htm

-20°c...well that was the warm winter days XD we've had an average of -30°c this January while in the summer peek we got some insane 40°c D:

4 seasons for the win except when you need way too much clothing hahaha

Fauxreal 02-23-2014 09:25 PM

I love having four seasons.

hyjin 02-23-2014 11:22 PM

I have marshmallow fluff
-digs out with a spoon-

Fauxreal 02-23-2014 11:25 PM

I also love marshmallow fluff! Mostly with nutella and bananas.

silverygit 02-24-2014 12:17 AM

my teeth just cringed at the sweet it involves xD I like all of those too but it would be too much for m xD I tend to go easy on sugar.

Fauxreal 02-24-2014 12:22 AM

I'm SUPER sweet tooth girl!

I love sugar. I'm addicted actually.

Cazzidy 02-24-2014 01:30 AM

hi everyone! Talking about sweets! I'm addicted to sweets too, just like Faux! hahaha! XD

Fauxreal 02-24-2014 01:37 AM

*gives Cazzidy rum and candy*

Lawtan 02-24-2014 01:53 AM

Rum Cocos?

silverygit 02-24-2014 05:50 AM

well I admit I have a big stash of candies at home, but I don't eat much myself, I tend to share a lot and enjoy the candies too. :3
Although even if I were to tell you guys what candies I mean, you might not have the same in the US o.o;;;

/big fan of Mondoux candies here in Québec :P

Fauxreal 02-24-2014 01:45 PM

Silvery - you are another person from Canada!

Goodness - I suddenly want hockey and eat fries with gravy on them.

Lawtan 02-24-2014 03:03 PM

*Wishes I could go to Canada or Mexico now...*

Fauxreal 02-24-2014 09:48 PM

Why? The weather? I like the cold.

Lawtan 02-24-2014 09:52 PM

Just because I'd like to explore...
(<3 the cold as well)

Fauxreal 02-24-2014 09:57 PM

I hope I can do a little of that in Japan.

Yay! Someone else likes the cold!

Cazzidy 02-25-2014 01:36 AM

I'm not very fond of cold weather but I'd like to experience snow for once... haha! :)

Fauxreal 02-25-2014 01:37 AM

There is no snow where you are?

Alpha 02-25-2014 03:04 AM

I believe Cazz is somewhere tropical-esque? If so, that would explain no snow...

I've actually been to Mexico. Nice place, but don't go outside the tourist-y areas unless you have connections who can protect you...seriously.

Polly101 02-25-2014 03:20 AM

Hello!

I hear Mexico?
Waoww mexico! Its my dream to go to Mexico! ; O ;

It doesnt snow here too...; - ;

Lawtan 02-25-2014 03:26 AM

Same with Brazilian cities...
Military = police
Police = totally corrupt

Polly101 02-25-2014 03:31 AM

I wish someday deception ends...

Alpha 02-25-2014 04:04 AM

Yep. It's really true of most of Central and South America. Tis unfortunate but a sad fact.

Lawtan 02-25-2014 02:26 PM

Father did some nuclear risk analysis for the Brazilian Government a while back...

Fauxreal 02-25-2014 04:07 PM

Woah - That is crazy Law. And spooky!

Lawtan 02-25-2014 04:11 PM

Not really - he has traveled multiple places like that. The Nuclear-Flood incident in Japan was something my father actually predicted for a sister powerplant in Switzerland were a dam to flood to the same level.

Fauxreal 02-25-2014 07:41 PM

I didn't want to be the one to tell you this - but your father is a spy.

Lawtan 02-26-2014 01:34 AM

Well, he is cleared higher than most, but nope. No spy-ish stuff.

>.> I may be, though... <.<
