Guys I do apologize. Chapter 3 will be up tomorrow, I'm having some electricity issues here that brought me down.

Lawtan 10-29-2015 08:03 PM

*Gives a wreath of flowers and starts building a canoe for Giselle* Poor girl...

Well...I suppose my next question will be to Alabaster again, seeing as how he found the body. Doubt Isabella - can't really see a motive, and apparently she is at least Giselle's equal.

Salone 10-30-2015 11:14 PM

Don't forget that you can make multiple accusations! Can't always get it right the first time, but you can try again! You know, for the people who are still alive.

Lawtan 10-31-2015 01:58 PM

Working on it

Illusion 11-01-2015 03:29 AM

I think I figured it out. Everyone is dying because they all drank poison from the water supply! The poison is very good poison so it makes people do weird things for weeks until the death part of the poison kicks in then dies!

Haha! That is an interesting theory. However I can assure you that the killer is on site, and is taking a direct executive approach to...inhuming the other guests.

Illusion 11-01-2015 09:06 PM

I think Giselle Tavish is the murderer.

She's been looking for another way for wealth, now with both Treylbach and Lady Scrimshaw dead she has eliminated her two obstacles to gain wealth. I just can't think of how she would had murdered the two yet. :/

Er...might want to reread that last part mate. Giselle Tavish is the one that is dead, and Scrimshaw is very much alive...for now! Who knows who will die next?!

Actually I know but you know what I mean!

Unfortunately can't just yet. I've had issues with my microphone, combined with a busy weekend, so the recordings are just now getting up to speed. Audio will be up later tonight, hopefully soon(tm)

MonBon 11-01-2015 10:07 PM

When will this story conclude and the killer be revealed?

Salone 11-01-2015 10:20 PM

Well, if someone makes the appropriate accusation and can give a semi accurate explanation as to how, and bonus points for the why, it'll be over. If they can't, there are at least two more people that can die. After that, the killer will 'win' and murder the rest. So the countdown is getting thin. As far as a time table goes, I can make it last as long as the Halloween events are going, which would be the 12th of November.

Now, if you want to find the killer...well, there are a few clues that are being overlooked. If no one gets it in a day or so, the next chapter will have some fairly damning evidence, as long as people have been paying attention...

Lawtan 11-01-2015 10:31 PM

I have an accusation (Had one, but wanted to check on somethings first)

The Murderer: Lady Scrimshaw

How they did it, and Why: She didn't, but due to her disdain of folk like Giselle and her control over the food prepared by the Butler, she has both the means and motive. She has not indicated a love of the butler that would bar the somewhat absent-minded fellow from being her tool in the murders. This is her house, so she would know all the nooks and crannies. She has the greatest ability to drug all the food. Finally, such an esteemed lady would not want the Long-named Lord to push through his efforts to "elevate" lower folk. Why else would she invite a party of folk whom she dislikes?

CupcakeDolly 11-01-2015 11:27 PM

I've been reading and re-reading the chapters for the "clues" you keep talking about, but I'm coming up with nothing. I have a suspicion about the bottle of wine disappearing from the kitchen, but then again it could honestly just be Alabaster acting like a frazzled fool.
You're either going to force us to be extremely clever in order to figure it out, or else it's just painfully obvious who the killer is and we're all just being dumb.
-shakes fist at Salone-
Damn yoooou!

Lawtan 11-01-2015 11:37 PM

Let's see...Butler's been accused and nothing...Lady Scrimshaw's been accused and nothing...Giselle is dead...

Lord Tavish, Isabella, or the Captain? Unless we have the murderer right and the method/reasoning wrong.

Salone 11-01-2015 11:46 PM

I want you to know that I am giggling evilly and rubbing my hands together as I think about how this is all going to turn out. Some of you are fairly close to the trail of how to solve it all and you don't even know it. It's like watching kids look for particularly well hidden Easter eggs.

Can we just accuse the Butler of Butlering and call it a a day? I'm starting to warm up to this murderer fellow. I like his or her work.

CupcakeDolly 11-01-2015 11:50 PM

I've still got my eye on that butler. It's hard to think of motives for everyone else when I'm busy trying to think of how Alabaster is the killer.
It's always the butler, damnit!

I can't think of anyone else other then Alabaster. As I said. IT'S ALWAYS THE BUTLER!

Lawtan 11-01-2015 11:54 PM

But if so, we need a motive. (Alies, I'll be ready to hang the Butler if he is the guy closest to the body...other than the Captain...again.)

I had thought the Lady Scrimshaw would be using the Butler. It just seems too easy to be him. Too convenient.

She is defending him though. No one would defend someone unless they did it themselves.

It's Lady Scrimshaw! IT HAS TO BE!

CupcakeDolly 11-01-2015 11:58 PM

It seems too easy, but then again, that could be why we've been staying away from that line of thinking.
Occam's Razor, people!
I'm almost thinking... It was Alabaster, but maybe he's not in full control of his mental faculties? That would be hard to prove, though. The only thing we know about him concerning his health is that he has a heart condition.

Salone 11-02-2015 12:00 AM

Oh. My. God. I cannot wait to do the parlor room reveal/summation. I let out a cackle. A cackle.

CupcakeDolly 11-02-2015 12:02 AM

...Alabaster is going to die, isn't he?

If he does then I know who to narrow it down to.

Lawtan 11-02-2015 12:06 AM

I expect so. Or the Lady Scrimshaw. Which will lead me to my next line of inquiry and suspicion that I'll put together...eventually.

Salone 11-02-2015 12:07 AM

Well obviously I have to say that I can't confirm or deny who is next, but no no, no worries just yet.

Although if you fail they all die, so there's that. Well, except the murderer. Maybe. I can fix that little tidbit too.

Lady Scrimshaw and Alabaster are too close, I can't see Lady Scrimshaw killing off Alabaster because of how defensive she is of him. Alabaster could quite possibly be the killer if Lady Scrimshaw dies. If it's none of them, then it's up in the air until we get more clues.

That comment from Dervy about the wine though...

Lawtan 11-02-2015 12:09 AM

Not necessarily...but I need to gather evidence, and I don't have the time tonight...

I'm pretty well convinced that the wine has something to do with everything. In the last chapter Giselle's narration mention that her husband "should have shared," and I suspect she was referring to the wine that went missing.

Lawtan 11-02-2015 12:20 AM

That doesn't match up with the food smeared in Laudanum, though.

Giselle Tavish did mention she was going to take a drink before she died.

So obviously the drink must of had poison in it.

Also
"Whoever the killer is would probably have had second thoughts about doing it if they had known we were going to be drinking some real wine tonight."

What does Dervy mean?

CupcakeDolly 11-02-2015 12:26 AM

OH SNAP.
What if the wine was used in the cooking process, and Alabaster somehow mixed it up with his medication?
Or, alternatively, someone took the wine because it looked super yummy, thus leading 'Baster to fetch more, giving the killer time to wander in and poison the food with the laudanum?

Edit:

I think that was just an offhand joke about how the killer might have been less crabby and homicidal if they'd known they were going to get a decent drink.

Lawtan 11-02-2015 12:29 AM

Hmm...can we ask Mr. Tavish about his actions prior to the meal?
I think you are well onto something there. And if you are, I think I have it down to two suspects.

But, it is near midnight...so need to sleep.

CupcakeDolly 11-02-2015 12:31 AM

Sure, I got some questions left for this round, I'll go do some interrogating. -cracks knuckles-

I'm just going to keep spilling out random questions being a bad cop until I get some decent information. xD

Salone 11-02-2015 04:34 AM

You're doing well so far! Just remember, if you ask the killer a question they're probably going to lie. So don't automatically believe everything you read!

CupcakeDolly 11-02-2015 04:48 AM

Hmmmmmmmm.....
I've got a theory brewin', but unfortunately I'm going to have to see who gets killed next before I know for sure.

Illusion 11-02-2015 09:38 AM

Everyone seems genuine in terms of Alabaster being loyal and not the being the killer.

So I really do suspect Lady Scrimshaw entirely now. If the murder weapon was indeed poison from the wine, she has the knowledge to form such a concoction let alone literally having a home field advantage and reason to kill almost anyone.

BUT GAWSH DARN IT IT'S ALWAYS THE BUTLER!

edit: If my theory that I'm withholding from speaking about is right the next one to die is Dervy.

ml1201 11-02-2015 05:39 PM

I've been wondering something, did Lady Scrimshaw get the only meal that was specifically made to her tastes (being a lighter meal) or were the rest of the meals also made to try and fit what they seem to like?
