Bake all the things! :D
|
I do baking for each holiday, I like for us to have a nice treat for the holiday. I even try to do neat cakes and such.
|
I know that you can substitute applesauce for oil. And I have done it before, but not for spice cake. Is it better with applesauce? :o
The only reason I am baking the cake though is because it expires today. XD;; I hate it when food goes to waste. |
I think it's moister and tastes better with the applesauce.
BTW - boxed things will last a little while after their expiration date, usually. |
Drats, I have some applesauce that I've been trying to get rid of too. XD
Ah well, maybe next time. |
I like applesauce with a few slices of cheddar cheese.
|
I've never had those two things together, Den, but it sounds tasty.
|
I like applesauce with my pork chops
|
Applesauce and potato pancakes are may favorite combo, but I bet it would be good with pork chops too.
|
I have yet to have potato pancakes properly made
|
A lot of them aren't as good as my grandmother's German potato pancakes.
|
Potato pancakes are awesome, I am the weirdo in my house that tries to put bacon and cheese in them though…
The pan got horribly messy. |
The last time I had potato pancakes, I used a latke mix to make 'em.
|
They are very time consuming when you make them from scratch, but yummy!
Never thought about adding cheese or bacon to them. hmm.... That could be good, although it seems like it would taste more like a pierogi than a potato pancake that way. ;-) |
can someone send me a good potato pancake recipe?
|
|
I like to eat my applesauce with french toast sticks. XD

6 starchy potatoes 6 eggs 1 medium onion 1-2 TBS flour pinch of salt Grate potatoes and onions and combine. Beat eggs until lemon colored and add to potato-onion mixture with salt. Add only enough flour to hold mixture. (Mixture will be thin.) Pour on hot griddle and fry until edges are crisp. ~*~*~*~*~ Before I found where I put the above recipe, I found another one online that looks intriguing to me. This one is a lot less eggy and the sour cream sounds like it would add a nice bit of flavor. http://www.bavariankitchen.com/sides...felpuffer.aspx |
Yay thank you guys!
I like french toast sticks but don't usually make them for myself XD |
I am not sure if I've had potato pancakes before. What do they taste like?
Hashbrowns? |
I think I tried to make one with powdered potatoes...not advised.

no bro this is not it. |
I would not like powdered potato pancakes. I don't even like real mashed potatoes made into patties and fried. It's just not the same.
|
I love potatoes so in general I make them. Add ons make them even better and I can make it into a meal.
|
All this talk of potatoes ....
I'm going to slice and roast some with a little olive oil, garlic powder and parmesan cheese. Yummy! :D |
The powdered ones can go well with cheese and spices. Just not useful for making other things that require potatoes.
*stomach grumbling now* xD |
Yummy Zen!
I am now being forced to watch Mamma Mia….. |
The Broadway play of that was fun. Is the movie not good?
|
I am not a big fan of musicals
My Mom and Grandmother on the other hand are…. |
Ah. It wouldn't be fun for you then. Sorry you're being subjected to it.
|
I am use to it
The only Musical I have ever liked in Into the Woods I tolerated Le Mis (Play) in college and got dragged to Rent which in premise i liked but I hated the music Le Mis was at least tolerable. |
Into the Woods was really great!
|
I love the movie version of it, I watch it way too often.
|
I've only seen the movie version once, but I loved it.
|
I own the DVD and have it in my sewing room for whenever I am working.

That sounds kind of like the hashbrown casserole I made the other day. Except mine also had cornflakes, cream of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese (as well as the onions and sour cream). http://allrecipes.com/recipe/18511/h...-casserole-ii/ |
