^^ When I was learning about why verifying site reliability was important, I remembered hearing that comment especially well.

At school I had this thing where everyone was gathered around that site^ and we were lectured on how not all dot-orgs were wonderful sites with good information. I remember hearing someone laughing while saying: "100 percent of all people who drink dihydrogen monoxide die"

It sounds tasty ><! I love buttery things, and dry cookies.

Tam I am 06-19-2016 10:16 PM

If the cookie is dry, put it in tea! XD All cookies are better dunked. Just not in milk.

Potironette 06-19-2016 10:42 PM

I remember reading that once somewhere. And then I tried it...in hot water >//>

littl3chocobo 06-19-2016 11:09 PM

uuum, i'll pass XD mint and pecans dont sound like a match, hahhaa

Pessimisticat 06-20-2016 02:50 PM

All of this cookie talk is making me hungry af.
I'd honestly probably just be a super amazing and delicious chocolate chip cookie :P

littl3chocobo 06-20-2016 02:54 PM

that is a shame XD i dont like chocolate or chocolate-flavored things

Awen Moonshine 06-20-2016 03:00 PM

Mmmm... I think if I was a cookie I'd like to be a matcha and white choc chip cookie <3 Slightly healthy and utterly delicious <3 I love those cookies, but they are rare to find so I normally just end up making them...

littl3chocobo 06-20-2016 03:02 PM

matcha and white chocolate? sounds bitter XD

Wow! Tam's an incredibly detailed cookie! I've never had date paste before. What does it taste like?

I'd be a palmier ^^

It's fruity sweet, moist, and delicious. It makes gluten-free cookies, which are usually dry and very crumbly, the same texture as most drop cookies.

Lawtan 06-20-2016 03:55 PM

I'd be something weird, yet plausible...a red velvet cookie of Chili chocolate (dark chocolate with a spicy tinge) chips and Ricotta cheese (sweet) in the middle...

...I don't know, I just mixed my favorite types of sweets...

Tam I am 06-20-2016 04:01 PM

Except that I'm not fond of red velvet, that sounds drool-worthy.

I just realized. My cookie would need to have some salty caramel in it too.

Fulkth 06-20-2016 04:54 PM

My husband loves cookies, but he ate all the cookies that we have bought already so he's stuck eating home made cookies until we go on our next shopping trip. He eats like a package of cookies a day.

Den 06-20-2016 07:00 PM

it's been way too hot lately to do baking activities.

I am always okay with a simple chocolate chip cookie. But fancier things are always welcome. :D Containing Chocolate, especially.

Fulkth 06-21-2016 12:40 PM

Okay, I have another question.

What should I do with the rest of my day? (It has only just started.)

Tohopekaliga 06-21-2016 02:08 PM

Well, anything important you are putting off?

Nestle got sued when they tried introducing a similar candy in the US back in the late 1990s.

I think you're getting your news stories a little bit mixed up. It IS due to safety reasons.

Mars didn't push through the FD&C Act of 1938, and there was no product even remotely similar to a Kinder Surprise Egg back then -- it wasn't invented until 1974, and it was never permitted to be imported into the US, though they've been smuggled into the country a lot. When the law was passed, it was 100% for safety reasons. The same law governs any additives that could bear a health hazard to the consumer.

Mars has never manufactured or announced a similar product.

It's entirely likely that Mars attacked Nestle over the Nestle Magic candy for competitive reasons, but the FDA was a disinterested third party in that fight and made its ruling concerning Nestle Magic based on the existing law on the grounds of a choking hazard.

In the end, it's actually a really good example of capitalism working correctly -- competition between companies serving to police behaviors that would otherwise go unchecked until things got bad.

Fulkth 06-21-2016 06:59 PM

lol, home-made cookies are a lot better, but they also take a lot more work to make than store bought cookies. 8D

Awen Moonshine 06-22-2016 05:39 PM

The white chocolate is sweet enough to counter the bitterness that you get with the matcha, littlechocobo ^_^ I love pretty much any matcha flavoured thing that I come across though ^_^;;

I love getting to eat the excess dough at the end of making my own cookies <3 Much like licking the bowl when making cakes ^_^;;

Tam I am 06-22-2016 07:06 PM

I didn't get cookies today, but I got an apple and caramel bar covered in dark bittersweet chocolate.

Den 06-23-2016 04:00 AM

I get to go to pick up some more cancer sticks for my dad later today. Yay. /sarcasm

*hugs Law* I'm going to bed... I got a bit too heated today.

Tam I am 06-24-2016 06:08 PM

*cool hugs for everyone*

I need a nap.

Den 06-24-2016 06:46 PM

I think it's either the weather, or the fact that I got overheated yesterday, that made me so sleepy today. I even went to bed early, for once.

Tam I am 06-25-2016 09:24 PM

And I'm not sure what just got my guts into a tearing hurry, but baking soda and a lot of water seems to have helped me feel better.

littl3chocobo 06-26-2016 01:27 AM

somehow this thread moved on without me X''D oops
