Vintage colors definitely make really nice colors schemes. Sometimes I'll go through super bright neon phases, but other times I prefer to keep it simple.

I think it's more that they're the traditional Christmas colors that made them a symbol. Before poinsettias, it was mistletoe (green and white) and then gradually holly (green and red, less poisonous than their deadly mistletoe cousins) and now it's poinsettias.

There's also a legend, I think from Mexico, where a little girl wants to bring baby Jesus a gift in the chapel during Christmas service, but she's so poor and can't afford any. Her cousin tells her that Jesus would certainly be delighted by even the smallest gift if it comes from someone who loves him. So she picks some weeds from the roadside and makes them into a bouquet which she lays down at the nativity scene. Then suddenly those weeds turn into beautiful red flowers, and those were poinsettias.

I know a lot of weird stuff. That's how my mind works - ask me any common knowledge and I'll give you a blank stare, but tell me pistachios can heat themselves up to spontaneous combustion if too many of them are shipped too tight in a container, or that some retirement homes have fake bus stops in front of them to stop dementia patients from wandering off, and I'm going to remember that forever.

I got my mom a poinsettia plant for Christmas last year as one of her gifts. It was a grow from the seed kit.

I love poinsettas and I wouldn't mind buying them for Christmas, but I hear that they are poisonous to cats.

I'm not sure if it ever grew, she never mentioned anything about it. Maybe she never grew it. I'd better let her know not to grow it now that she has a cat.

I knowww... I got impatient xD It took me almost an hour to make this one last night. I couldn't find the item that had the boogeyman ripping through the sky. The next avi I make is gonna have dem legs and dat hat we talked about recently.

Some of those items are hard to identify. I've got several which look plain or weird in their preview thumbnail yet are actually quite amazing. And my inventory isn't even that huge. I can only imagine how hard it must be when you own lots of stuff.
