Mekatra 12-15-2017 10:46 PM

I took a nap and woke up hungry.

arcius 12-15-2017 10:47 PM

woah, there's a lot of food talk here ; o;
makes me even more hungry even after already eating lol

Den 12-15-2017 11:29 PM

We love food here, clearly. lol

Panda 12-17-2017 07:19 AM

You guys are making me hungry!

mdom 12-17-2017 10:35 AM

I'd eat a cactus :9

Panda 12-17-2017 10:49 AM

OMG! Lmao XD

mdom 12-17-2017 11:28 AM

It's a Mexican dish! xD

Mekatra 12-17-2017 11:43 AM

I've eaten cactus, it's not my favorite thing to eat, but it was okay.

Den 12-17-2017 11:20 PM

I've had it before, too. but it wasn't properly cleaned, so little microspines kept stabbing me in the mouth. other than that, it didn't taste half bad to me.

Crystallyn Whisper 12-18-2017 09:18 PM

Eat a cactus?! There are brave souls in here.

Mekatra 12-18-2017 09:18 PM

Ha, you pull the spikes out before you eat it.

Crystallyn Whisper 12-18-2017 09:22 PM

Of course... I knew that... > w>; It does sounds like an interesting thing to try, though.

Mekatra 12-18-2017 09:27 PM

They're a wee bit slimy... which is weird, but I have been told they are tasty cut up and fried. I had it in soup.

Crystallyn Whisper 12-18-2017 09:41 PM

That sounds pretty good. I'd try both if I ever get the opportunity to.

Den 12-19-2017 09:19 PM

I remember it tasting alright, but I was 12 at the time...

dragoness129 12-20-2017 02:08 PM

Tis the season of feasting.

Crystallyn Whisper 12-20-2017 09:42 PM

I just remembered my mom is making a cherry pie this year. Never had one of those before. I'm sure it'll be delicious.

dragoness129 12-22-2017 07:12 AM

Mmmm. I love cherry pie myself.
Hope you do love it!

Crystallyn Whisper 12-22-2017 07:22 PM

My momma's making it so it's gotta be good. n wn

dragoness129 12-22-2017 09:56 PM

Oooh, homemade is even better. -drools at just the thought-

Crystallyn Whisper 12-22-2017 10:11 PM

She makes a great pumpkin pie too.

dragoness129 12-22-2017 10:36 PM

Pumpkin pie is one of my favorites! ^_^
I've had it as a birthday cake before, since I don't much care for cake.

Crystallyn Whisper 12-22-2017 11:07 PM

That's a thing? * A* I think I'll ask for a pie for my birthday next year.

dragoness129 12-22-2017 11:13 PM

I have done it, so in my family it is. ^_^
I've also had a pumpkin roll for my birthday before.

ZenKitty 12-24-2017 12:36 PM

Hello everyone!

Happy Holidays!

Do any of you know how to turn back on notifications for news posted? I just found out about the festival because I forgot to check earlier and was waiting for the email notification.

Mekatra 12-24-2017 02:06 PM

I've got to make candied nuts tonight

ZenKitty 12-24-2017 02:24 PM

I'm making pumpkin ice cream pie tonight.

Tomorrow we'll have roasted duck with sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts with chestnuts.

Mekatra 12-24-2017 02:27 PM

I'm looking in the settings but I'm not really sure which one it would be... hmmm

That sounds all kinds of fancy O_O

ZenKitty 12-24-2017 02:33 PM

Thanks for looking, Mekatra. It notified me of the Halloween Festival so I was expecting an email about this one and got busy and didn't check until today.

We had duck several years ago and it was really scrumptious. I stuff it with garlic and oranges and baste it with a sherry mixture. The brussels sprouts are a nice change from the roasted ones I usually make. I use a little cream and it's really quite yummy.

Mekatra 12-24-2017 03:27 PM

I'm having to very carefully explain step by step how to roast a beef sirloin to my friend, which is funny since I haven't eaten meat in almost three years. XD

ZenKitty 12-24-2017 03:41 PM

That's a kind thing to do, Mekatra.

Mekatra 12-24-2017 03:42 PM

She's a terrible cook. Her idea of fancy cooking is buying the name brand boxed dinner. XD

She got a new boyfriend though and suddenly has decided she wants to learn to cook.

ZenKitty 12-24-2017 03:49 PM

Cooking for a boyfriend is a good reason to learn how to cook. I wonder how many disasters she'll have though before she perfects her cooking? I had several as I was learning. :P

tsukiko 12-27-2017 08:20 AM

experimenting with meat is an expensive hobby LOL!

my hand is still orange from cutting up potatoes and carrots on christmas xD my sister did a delicious roast and we cut up red and gold potatoes and carrots to roast with it. then i cut up some more carrot coins and added the extra potatoes into the chicken noodle soup that we made for lunch. made it so much better ^___^

ZenKitty 12-27-2017 11:15 AM

Food stains are rough. Whenever I chop up fresh turmeric I have orange fingers for a week or more. That stuff stains like nobody's business, but boy is it tasty. :)

tsukiko 12-27-2017 11:40 AM

and turmeric in general is good for your health xD

ZenKitty 12-27-2017 05:20 PM

It sure is. Plus it tastes amazing. :)

Mekatra 12-27-2017 07:37 PM

Tumeric is an anti-inflammatory. <3 It's also good for "men's health" lol

dragoness129 12-27-2017 10:16 PM

I do like that seasoning myself!

Mekatra 12-27-2017 10:18 PM

It also makes a dye for fabric that is really pretty. It's yellow without being obnoxious
