Yes yes so someone carve me a turnip for my contest too :)
Lemme search my yard for a turnip. (We plant a bunch of them randomly around the yard every year... I dunno why...
My mom makes turnip in a way that smells so bad D:
If you had told me earlier, I had turnips a few days ago.
Probably too small to carve them though. |
turnips are what they used to use for the lanterns, i believe?
Not candles?
*ba-dum-tss* |
You can actually carve a makeshift candle out of an apple using a bit of an almond as the wicker and it will light up.
Hmm I do want to set an apple on fire...
oh boy. make an entire chorus of fruit lanterns and watch the world burn.
I might actually carve an apple. We have tons of apples right now.
Then again they turn brown and yucky after a while. Let's see... what else do we have that's carveable... *rummages through kitchen* |
perhaps pineapples.
They're hard to carve tho!!!

I ended up not carving a turnip because I couldn't find one big enough to really merit the work. It was a really dry summer, so none of our plants did very well.
They carve sweet potatoes for competition sometimes, I've seen it... it's a little strange haha |
Hello, all!
Watermelons are also carveable, but it is out of season for those here.
Sup Batster? |
watermelons are ninety percent water, supposedly.
I did a search for carved watermelon and was not disappointed.
The turtle one would get the prize from Gizzie xDD
Turtle one also gets the prize from me. Hedgehog a close second, clever use of toothpicks.

when inktober is over I'll do something here
Yay :D
