I’m in like. 1.5 D&D games. The 1 is my very first one, and the 0.5 is, uh, it’s just me and two friends, one of whom’s the DM? But the other friend and I have done a lot more headcanoning than actually getting our characters down in writing and the DM is a bit exasperated.
Kenku rogue (arcane trickster) in one and tabaxi monk (way of four elements, redux) in the other. Both chaotic neutral, to no one’s surprise. |
My character is a rogue. I've done maybe 3 games? We always end up drinking during lol I've successfully completed 1 campaign but I did get brutally murder because of my brothers impulsivity once lol |
During my most memorable session one guy ended up spending eternity in a very deep hoistway (he had a feat that would slow down his fall enough for him to survive and a magical item keeping him from starvation), two marched straight into a black hole they mistook for a portal, and another player lost all of his clothes. In hindsight I guess we deserved it, because our way to identify traps was to run them over with a mule called Bob and a dozen of his clones.
One of those players ended up with a consequence quite different from the others...
Indeed. GM took everyone of us in a private room when we made the rookie mistake to split the party, and the player would not tell us afterwards. So up until this day I have no clue what actually happened.
never split up! bad things happen.
beeps softly
there's a game called Never Split the Party. |
yeah that sounds about right.
why are you beeping, Void? |
i'm a very scared robot, tryst.
beep beep. |
but why are you scared?
<:)
i have no idea at this point. |
eh, fair enough.
i ought to go open some of my boxes.... |
oh, mood. i've got more than a few boxes right now. vaguely wish there was a GUI to open all of them at the same time.
just opened a few. got more stuff i'm not a fan of.
can't want to see what more i got. :) |
i'm okay with the stuff i've got tbh. my current avatar looks humorous enough.
well, i am amused. i'm also easily amused, so there is that.
i think it's the deadpan expression that really sells it.
Man I miss playing D&D. The only hobby shop in town closed three years ago.
oh yes, i agree with you, Void
sorry to hear that, Witchy :( |
oof. i'd like to play DnD, but, y'know, schedule conflicts and such, esp if we're doing it online.
I never have done it online, although I did make a DnD Beyond account. Gosh, there are some really cool subcategories in there. A shapeshifter subset that could allow for Fennec Fox weres? Well, not really weres, I guess.
that DnD Beyond looks like a cool site
that sounds awfully interesting tbh. fennec fox weres...
I played a Razorclaw Shifter Shaman in 4th Edition that I absolutely loved, and I'm not sure how that could be retranslated into the new edition. Razorclaws are feline humanoids with feline were lineage, they don't do a full transformation, but they do retain feline aspects that get more extreme when their battle stats get triggered, I think by taking a certain amount of damage. I miss playing her. I also don't really see a way to build the Shaman class in any aspect in the new edition either.
oh, that sounds pretty neat.
do go on about it? i don't have an exact interest in DnD, but it's nice to see people happy about it. |
The guide says that Shifters have a tradition for naming that involves descriptive words, ao I named her Bliss because there were auspicious signs at her birth that identified her as the next in line for the village Shaman, a great honor for her family. The Shaman gains a spirit totem that takes physical form in battle, and because she's Razorclaw/cat, hers took the form of a silvery tiger, whom I called Simba after the old grey and white cat we had then. She seriously got to almost 20 years old. Anyway, Simba coming into battle made my Shaman both a bad a** damage inflicter, plus she was a solid healer too.
that's very neat. sorry that i don't have much to say, i don't know much about DnD other than rolling for initiative.
No biggie. I think I didn't share much of my character's backstory in game, which makes me disappointed in myself. For instance, at some point I had decided that Simba was actually the spirit of her unborn twin, and this is why she had such a strong bond with the ghost tiger.
currently: planning a collaboration with two people. three-way collaboration. time for utter hell.
