@Den
You silently gestures to your minions, and they nod and squeal. As you move left, you suddenly get the vague feeling one of the candy corn minions is missing. But when you stop two steps later to count them, they're ten again. Probably one just fell behind for a moment. Nothing suspicious. You ignore the minion and think about where you want to walk now instead.

Continue straight ahead, or go right?

@KittyBeary
It's always nicer to have some company, and so you decide to follow Den. Maybe in times of danger that minion army will protect you both. Besides there's still the option to split up later. After two steps you reach the next junction, where you could go right. Or just continue on your straightforward path, if that looks more appealing to you.

Continue straight ahead, or go right?

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 07:23 AM

@Merskelly
The direction in which DreadedMartian walked off seems promising, and so you go right. Then left, and left, and left again. Then right, and right, and left. You nod at your reflection in a puddle. That new headdress sure compliments your look. But you're not here for vanity, and so you take two more turns to the left. What is this - a child spawning point?! A little mermaid dressed in a makeshift cardboard costume tugs your sleeve and wants your help.

Take the merchild back to the entrance, or throw them into the puddle you just came across?

@bluebird
You hurry up to follow mdom, but soon lose sight of her. You can still hear her in the distance, so she's probably not that far away. Therefore you try your best to retrace her path by looking at footprints in the mud, but it's hard to tell them apart. After maybe two meters a new path appears on the right.

Continue straight ahead, or go right?

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 07:31 AM

@Major
The powers of spooky are nowhere stronger than inside the haunted corn maze. So that's where you decide to go. You find yourself completely alone at the entrance, nothing to see except for a half eaten candy corn lying on the ground. Which path shall it be - the one straight ahead, or the one to the left?

Go straight, or go left?

mdom 10-30-2019 10:01 AM

Go left pls

uhh is Merskelly right after Dreaded Martian and found the mermaid where Martian found the spiderkid or did they keep walking straight before?

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 10:21 AM

Kid spawn point. Everyone gets their own child. Until we run out of children. Then we'll make do with dogs.

mdom 10-30-2019 10:26 AM

Kids, dogs, what's really the difference when you're not the mom

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 10:36 AM

No difference. That's why we can switch them without anyone complaining.

Will update your location once I'm back at the computer where I have the map.

Merskelly Metalien 10-30-2019 01:25 PM

:D *happily decides to help little mer-child
by helping them back to the puddle they belong in. What mer-child wants to get lost all the way at the start when there's a perfectly available puddle to lurk in?*

bluebird 10-30-2019 02:46 PM

go right, then straight!

DreadedMartian 10-30-2019 04:56 PM

**Chuckles at the thought of telling her to use her spider sense. I smile and take the childs hand and proceed on my way back to the entrance**

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 05:21 PM

@mdom
You choose the path on your left. As the hissing noise grows louder, you start to doubt whether that actually was your best idea. But then the path takes a turn to the right, and once more the hiss gets drowned by carnival music. You follow the path until it takes you left again, and after maybe two meters there's another turn to the left. You march on, and start to notice the noise again. Yet by now you've already braved yourself to meet whatever horror this may be. Around another corner you go - and immediately stop. The corn stalk leaves in front of you look suspiciously like SNAKES!

Eek! They promised you a corn maze. Nice, sweet, harmless corn!
Will you run away or stay to fight?

@Merskelly
The puddle is rather small - but unfortunately big enough to ruin the merchild's makeshift costume. Sitting in the puddle, the child starts crying and flailing. This little mermaid wanted just one day to play pretend with human friends to collect candy. Just one day, and you ruined it. Nope, that crying fit isn't going to stop anytime soon. You can cheer the child up again by helping with a new costume, or stuff corn leaves into your ears to soundblock the wailing while you regain your inner peace. No matter what you choose though, it will take some time.

You can resume at this spot tomorrow.

Den 10-30-2019 06:09 PM

Go straight, and keep counting the minions.

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 06:15 PM

@bluebird
In theory it seems like a good idea. If you run fast enough and take two steps at once, then you should catch up to your meat shield in no time. Right? In practice however you probably didn't pay enough attention to the footsteps, because as you run forward, all of a sudden a metal cage falls down on you. Luckily you're not hurt, but it will nevertheless take some time for you to break free.

You can resume at this spot tomorrow.

@DreadedMartian
The child is happy to be safe outside the maze. She thanks you, waves and cheerfully jumps away. You stand at the entrance of the maze once more, so might as well go back in and explore again. One path leads straight ahead, and one to the left. Which one shall it be?

Go straight, or go left?

mdom 10-30-2019 06:35 PM

I'll stay and fight!!!

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 07:28 PM

@Den
You don't want to risk losing another minion, not even for a short time. After all you could run into a looming nightmare and then you'll need every single candy corn in your army. So you keep counting them. One, two, three, you follow the path, four, five, six, the path takes a turn to the right. Seven, eight, nine, to the right again. Ten, to the right once again, eleven... Eleven?? "You look confused", someone says. "Maybe I can help you. And in turn you help me out of the maze. I'm late for class already." The person speaking is a middle aged maths teacher.

Accompany the teacher to the entrance, or tie him to a corn stalk so his class gets some free time?

@mdom
Corn snakes got nothing on you! With a determined grin you get ready to fight. After all your cat like reflexes should save you from any attacks, and if that fails, you got eight other lives anyway. Right? At least you hope so. You show your claws and then you...

1) lunge forward to attack the snakes directly?
2) diss them viciously in parseltongue?
3) set fire to that snake-leafed monstrosity of a corn stalk?

Pick one option. If you choose the right one, the fight is over. One allows you to go on, but one can kill you. So pick wisely.

mdom 10-30-2019 07:34 PM

Diss them viciously in parseltongue

first to die hasdajkshdkjhd

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 08:06 PM

@mdom
It could've easily been the most epic rap battle held in the corn maze so far, but as it turns out, your language skills are quite rusty. While you still think you're spewing insults at the snakes, they understand you want to share baking recipes. What do you want to do?

1) lunge forward to attack the snakes directly
2) give them a cherry cobbler recipe
3) give them a corn bread recipe
4) set fire to that snake-leafed monstrosity

mdom 10-30-2019 08:17 PM

I'll give them a cherry cobbler recipe

let'ssss be friendssss

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 08:54 PM

@mdom
Since you struggle with your parseltongue, you have to make do with the help of hands and feet. Your acting skills probably won't earn you an oscar anytime soon, but at least the snakes seem to understand what you want to say. They also try to teach you a recipe in return. You're not sure if you wrote it down correctly, but it seems to be for depression cake. However there is no kitchen inside the maze (or at least you haven't found any yet), and the path also seems to end here. So your only option is to go back. After a while you're back at the junction that lead you to the snakes. Here you can continue straight, or go right.

Continue straight, or go right?

mdom 10-30-2019 09:25 PM

>:U

Go right then

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 09:40 PM

@mdom
You go right and after a not so long time you reach the point where a path opens up to the left.

Continue straight, or go left?

mdom 10-30-2019 09:46 PM

go left...

Death by Mirrors 10-30-2019 09:52 PM

@mdom
Maybe you didn't notice the directions get flipped once you're walking backwards. Or maybe you were just really desperate to reunite with your former team mate. Anyway, as you turn left you notice bluebird sitting in a metal cage. Do you want to help?

Get bluebird out of the cage, or move on?

Merskelly Metalien 10-30-2019 09:54 PM

Oh damnmit. >n> I thought they were a legit mer-kid. Curses! Fooled by cardboard again! >x{ *helps make a new costume for the child*
I'm going to just put this headdress on the wailing little larva. >:/ There. Now they're a bird king! -n- Shoo human larva.

Den 10-30-2019 10:18 PM

Upon seeing the Maths teacher... I recall how hellish maths classes were for me because of teachers who didn't know how to (or refused to) adapt their teaching style for different students, and who made me have to give up a class I loved in favor of a class I didn't need. I tie him to a corn stalk so his class gets some free time. Then I take my minions (and the newcomer) and continue on my merry way.

KittyBeary 10-30-2019 10:28 PM

I'll continue straight ahead.

mdom 10-30-2019 10:42 PM

Get bluebird out of the cage!

DreadedMartian 10-31-2019 04:55 AM

*I choose left this time*

Death by Mirrors 10-31-2019 07:27 AM

@Merskelly
The little larva stops wailing and looks absolutely thrilled about the new costume. You made a poor child very, very happy. Once you're free from the maze perhaps you could launch a new career as a fashion designer working with unique materials. Yet first you need to find the right path. The place where you found the child was a dead end, so you walk back to the last junction. From here you'll be able to go left or right.

@Den
While the majority of kids and teens understand your struggles, the corn maze appears to have a mind of its own. Or maybe it is just really, really fond of torture and does not want students to have a pleasant day. Upon tying the maths teacher to the corn stalk, several other stalks wrap around your arms and legs. Your minions immediately come to rescue, but it takes them some time to free you again. You can continue from this spot tomorrow - but at least you got a heartfelt thank you card signed by the whole class for tying their teacher to a stalk.

Death by Mirrors 10-31-2019 11:16 AM

@KittyBeary
You follow the path straight ahead, and after a while it takes a turn to the right. This time you don't need to walk so long before you turn to the right a second time. And after maybe two meters, right once again. Here you see a maths teacher and Den both tied to a corn stalk. Do you want to:

Help the maths teacher, help Den, free both, or no one?

@mdom
Maybe one day bluebird will return the favor, and even if not, you're a nice person who enjoys other people's company in the maze. Or also want to have a meat shield of your own. Either way, I'm not going to judge. It takes you some time to free bluebird, because you didn't have the right key with you and need to rely on your lockpicking skill.

You can resume from this place in half a day.

@DreadedMartian
It's only a couple steps to the left before another path opens up to your right. Who knows what scary things await you there? Snakes, traps and math teachers? Or maybe you will find some hidden Halloween candy? Don't be shy, come on and make your choice.

Continue straight ahead, or go right?

mdom 10-31-2019 11:43 AM

u.u
it's gonna take a while because the kittens are the ones trying to open the cage.

Death by Mirrors 10-31-2019 12:08 PM

Ok, make that one day then XD

mdom 10-31-2019 12:30 PM

WHAT NO

Merskelly Metalien 10-31-2019 01:26 PM

<.< Left...or right? >.>
hmmm...*decides to turn left, keeping an the eye out for any sentient corn stalks*

@Merskelly
Left it shall be. After a few steps the path turns to the left a second time, then to the right. And to the right again after a few meters. Then you take another turn to the left, and a few steps later the path leads to the left once more. Finally one last turn to the right, and... Congratulations! You found the entrance! But since you probably want to discover the exit, your options are:

Go straight, or go left?

Merskelly Metalien 10-31-2019 03:47 PM

:D *kneels on the floor and curls into a ball* xDx Gaaaaaahhh!
*rolls to the left* ;_;

Death by Mirrors 10-31-2019 04:30 PM

@Merskelly
Only a few steps later you notice a path open up to your right. Footprints on the muddy ground hint that several people have already explored here, but you don't know if that's a good or a bad sign. After a few moments of pondering you decide to...

Continue straight ahead, or go right?

mdom 10-31-2019 06:15 PM

im so talented

Death by Mirrors 10-31-2019 06:24 PM

Yes you are ^^ ok, let's go.

@mdom
Turns out your cats are much more skilled at lockpicking than you are. So they shove you aside and take over the job. Sometimes you just need a professional. Within remarkably short time bluebird is freed from the cage. Both of you can now continue exploring the maze. Turning around, you see you may go left or right. Both paths look familiar to you.

Go left, or go right?
