Yay I get to go home soon and can put on comfy stretched out and not suitable to wear in public anymore leggings! (Even though I always wear a skirt so the "improper" wearing out of the inner thigh seams wouldn't be an issue tbh, but I still feel weird wearing raggedy clothes even if no one can see it...)
And then I can "die" for several hours until I have to get up for work!

Praise the small things in life that make a horrible situation at least a little bit easier to bear.

I don't wanna go to work tonight. I'm bloaty and cranky and it's only just over a 3 hour shift which makes it barely worth it at all, but it's because we've had to cut labor so much that we can't/won't have the coverage to give breaks and legally they are required to give a 15 minute break for a 4 hour+ shift, so all the shifts have been cut down. And it's dumb. And it's cold out and a 2 mile walk and literally all my shoes have holes either in the side or in the middle of the sole or both.

it'd be better to throw that money at better working conditions

that is literally the same thing though. corporations are heavily incentivised to cut as much out of employee care and safety as possible because it is seen as unnecessary splurging. not letting them choose how much employees should get is for the best

Found out last night that the JoAnn store hours here may be cut back slightly so instead of being open 9AM-9PM, it'll be 10AM-8PM. Because we just can't get our labor down to where corporate says it should be. Apparently even the regional manager tried to make it work and finally admitted he couldn't do it.
