Echo I totally agree with you on everything you said there. The first one didn't really get into their characters that much and left a lot of questions to be answered. The second movie did do a better job of actually explaining what was happening with this family. Ouija boards are no joke and I think it's absolutely horrible that they are sold as toys in many stores. They are most certainly not a toy and should never be played with. I heard they are making a Paranormal Activity 3. I wonder if they are going to follow Kate (i think thats her name?) and the baby or if they are going back to when the girls were children and their old experiences. Either way I'm on the fence about it. Not sure if I will want to see it or not, I suppose it will depend on how I feel about it when it comes out.

Echo-chan713 04-27-2011 01:19 PM

They better not move the time back farther...I have no idea how they are going to do it since most of the character are dead or possessed. maybe it'll be like what they are doing to do on Silent Hill 2; jumo loads of years and have the baby now teenage Hunter to figure out the proble (and I hope thay deal with it, cause just moving the problem isn't going to work out).

I watched Paranormal Entity (which is like a spin off to Paranormal Activity). It was super boring, it was like more of a family drama than dealing with the entity, it was confusing on knowing what it is (they explained what it was but super brief) and have barely to no character development whatsoever (hell the psychic FINALLY came along at the end, but dies within 5-10 minutes)

Seloria 04-27-2011 01:32 PM

I hadn't thought about them continuing paranormal by making it years later. That's a good thought though if it goes into the kid as he gets older and is now trying to figure out why this thing wanted him so bad and what not. No matter what they do to it though I'm always going to be a little skeptical because the first one was so bad (in my opinion) that it kind of set up a bad start for the entire series, no matter how many movies they make. It could even end up like the Saw franchise where the first one was the slowest and it just got more intense with each film. I loved the Saw franchise though, right from the start.

Paranormal Entity, I saw the dvd for that on sale at wal-mart once but thought it would be a lame knockoff. Sounds like it wasn't very good then from what you've summarized of it.

i just thought of another movie I watched that I didn't like. It's not related to the paranormal stuff, but The Golden Compass was a pretty bad movie. I had read the book and loved it, so I was a little excited to see the movie. It's actually a series of 3 books and I'm glad that they chose not to continue into the second and third books with the movies. They took the first book and completely turned it around, and it really didn't work out very well for the story that way. They should have kept it to the way it was written.

Echo-chan713 04-27-2011 01:35 PM

Here's what I think is the Trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yElt-NLy2aU it's funny as hell. There's A LOT of funny trailer spoofs of Paranormal Activity like Paranormal Sucks, Normal Activity, and more

Seloria 04-27-2011 03:49 PM

LMAO at that video, that was just silly lol. That would be hilarious if that was the real trailer for PA3 lol. I did look up the imdb page though and it's apparently slated to release in october of this year http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1778304/

Echo-chan713 04-27-2011 03:59 PM

I thought it was november like the other website about it

Seloria 04-27-2011 04:07 PM

I guess we will have to wait and see when it does come out. I know that IMDB and an article on dreadcentral.com both say October 21st. I just hope it ends up being better than the 1st one, although I realize that isn't saying much lol.

Echo-chan713 04-27-2011 04:36 PM

It won't say much till the preview or the premiere comes along

Fizzyology 04-27-2011 05:27 PM

lol Paranomal Activity XD that was pretty good in my opinion which is mostly just because I've been through something similar just not so...what's the word...idiotic? See my husband is Clairvoyant so it scared the hell out of him lol.

I did like the second one though.

There's a spoof called Paranormal Entity. It's just silly lol It doesn't explain much to anything that happens and go figure, the story is a LOT like Paranormal Activity. I laughed at it the whole time, hell even my Husband thought it was amusing.

They tried to hard to make it scary

Echo-chan713 04-27-2011 05:45 PM

I was just bored at Paranormal Entity it was like they were trying to be original but it's hard to do it when Paranormal Activity came out and took over the genre

Seloria 04-28-2011 02:43 PM

From the sounds of it, I'm glad I haven't seen Paranormal Entity lol. I just thought of another movie that I thought was completely horrible... The Wicker Man with Nicholas Cage. It was one of the most boring, anti-climactic movies I've ever seen. Mind you Nick Cage isn't one of my favourite actors, but he has made some pretty good movies. This one wasn't one of the good ones though! lol

Echo-chan713 04-28-2011 04:25 PM

Never heard of The Wicker Man

"I said, put the bunny back in the box."

Fizzyology 04-28-2011 05:07 PM

I think most will agree with me when I say the worst movie I've ever had the misfortune to watch was M. Night Shamalan's Airbender.

Such a disappointment.

If I were to explain all the reasons why i hated it so much, I'd fill up an entire page lol

Echo-chan713 04-28-2011 05:43 PM

Sound's familiar but haven't seen it but doesn't ring a bell

Seloria 04-29-2011 10:24 AM

I never watched Airbender. I'm a huge M Night fan, and love every one of his movies that I have seen (which is all of them except for Airbender lol). I was too skeptical to see it because I didn't care for the cartoon, so I wasn't really interested in the movie. I did hear that it was just as bad as the cartoon though.

Echo-chan713 04-29-2011 10:53 AM

I never watch Airbender and never attempt to watch it, when I watched the trailer I thought "This is going to be bad" because I think they never saw the series beforehand (like character race).

Booga 05-02-2011 12:08 PM

Flightplan. That movie was straight up dumb. It was just about some woman hallucinating on a plane. :/ Glad it was my dad that paid for it and not me.

Echo-chan713 05-02-2011 03:31 PM

And you can't get a refund at the movies XP

Seloria 05-02-2011 09:50 PM

I didn't watch flightplan either, was told not to lol. Someone watched it, I can't remember who now though, and they told me not to bother, it would be a huge waste of time... so I never did lol. It didn't look that interesting to me anyway so it wasn't really a big loss not to see it.

Actually, if you leave early enough in the movie, you can get a refund. I've done it a couple of times with friends.

Echo-chan713 05-03-2011 01:56 AM

Never heard of that, is there a time limit until you can't get a refund?

Quiet Man Cometh 05-03-2011 04:14 AM

EDIT: at the theater I used to work at, the time frame was 20 minutes after the start of the movie. After that, no refunds. That's also when we stop letting people in.

I would be part of the "never watched Titanic" and "never seen Avatar" clubs, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm not really interested in watching a movie I know is going to end badly, and I read too much fantasy and such to be interested in blue people with tails.

Bad movies huh? Oh, I can think of a few. Front runner though, is Say it isn't So! Not only can I not stand movies where the entire plot is based on people being ignornant and one intelligent conversation would fix everything, but the payback for the badguys in the end wasn't nearly satisying enough to merit having to sit through all the crap!

Got bored with both Jerry Maquire and Wicker Man (Nick Cage, though I heard the old one with Christopher Lee is good). The issue with Wicker Man for me I think was the fact that I had guessed what was going to happen fairly early and then it was only a matter of sitting through the rest of it to see if I was right. I abandoned Twilight too, after some 3 minutes. It was on TV.

As far as bad horror movies go, by which I mean BAD, not so bad it's funny horror movies, Alone in the Dark springs to mind. It actually had potential to start with, but it appears that about after the first half hour or so the budget ran out and they stopped bothering to animate the monsters. Nothing like watching soldiers in mass panic shooting at nothing, and the need to stick the bomb into the open portal through which is coming...nothing. Yay. I really did feel bad for Christian Slater in that movie.

Tail Sting is up there too. Before snakes on planes, it was giant mutant scorpions. Oh no! Trapped in cockpit with scorpion! Must dodge claws...swish...in confined space...swish...stab with pencil...stab. Apparently giant mutant scorpions can shriek, who knew?

Add Megaladon to the pile. I have a thing for shark movies. It's amazing they could pull off a revenge movie with that many dull faced actors and a lethargic cg shark.

And for bad anime for the sake of variety, Golgo 13. Yeah. I don't think I can impress upon anyone adequately the badness of that movie.

Seloria 05-12-2011 10:16 PM

I just thought of another horrible movie... I sat and laughed but it was just a terrible film... Zombies of Mass Destruction! The title sounded so epic, so I watched it with Cale (my fiance) and a friend, honestly, we are never getting that time back. It was badly acted, the jokes were atrocious, and the whole movie left a nasty taste in your mouth. Overall probably one of the worst I've ever seen!

Calendros 05-12-2011 10:48 PM

I think one of the most horrible, wretched movies I've ever watched (and Seloria is going to argue this) hands down has to be The Human Centipede. I am never going to get that time back. Just because you CAN film a movie, doesn't mean you should.

"It's aleady been mentioned, but Airbender. Dear LORD that movie sucks. Not even just from a fan of the the cartoon's perspective. I tried to put myself in the place of someone who's never seen it and it just, uhg... Jumps around way too much, the elemental manipulation was awful (too many movements that the manipulated thing wasn't following, would have looked MUCH better if they followed the flow of movement and had less "fluff." Both canonically and non.) and f gberjkghwerjkgherk"
[Proceeds to flail in disgust.]

"The effects were cool, yeah. But, man! Talk about a major fail. Also, the more I think about Jame's Cameron's Avatar, the more I dislike it. It was pretty, a nice experience (which was what his main focus was, just want to throw that out there) but it still doesn't change the fact that the story's just... so over-used.

Oh, yeah. And New Moon. I wanted very much to get up and leave, but I was not allowed to. So I just.. laid there. On the couch. And suffered. (Although, I will admit, Lautner shirtless and in the rain was nice eye-candy. But not enough to redeem the movie.)"

Seloria 05-13-2011 09:18 PM

I watched Titanic and honestly, I will never get that time back. I don't know how so many people can like that movie, it was garbage. I found it drawn out and incredibly boring.

I didn't mind Avatar, but I went in knowing that it was a simple cliche story and it was really all about the environment and graphics. I went to see it in 3D and did enjoy it in that aspect.

Twilight... wow... I don't even feel right putting anything to do with Twilight in the same category as any sort of entertainment. I would rather re-watch every horrible movie in this thread than ever touch anything to do with Twilight... I'm all for Team Dracula, because no self respecting vampire would ever sparkle!

Behemoth 05-14-2011 03:49 PM

So, you know Pretty Woman, widely regarded as a classic and beloved as an ultimate romance by people everywhere? Yeah, I finally watched that one night and I just wanted to throw popcorn at the screen, only I didn't have any popcorn at all. Richard Gere is such a creeping creeper and even if it wasn't about prostitution, it'd still be pretty skeevy in the Pygmalion sort of way. Just...blargh.

LMAO cause it was Pygmalion, just retold in a different way. As was My Fair Lady. Though of the two I'll definitely take My Fair Lady.

Behemoth 05-15-2011 11:55 PM

Of course My Fair Lady is better. It has Audrey Hepburn in it. <3

Lunaryon 05-17-2011 05:13 PM

Eragon. Way off from the book, and a bad movie even without the book

Seloria 05-17-2011 10:32 PM

Ya know, I never got to watch all of Eragon. I've seen bits and pieces on tv a couple times, but it's always on when I'm busy and can't watch it. I've heard some really mixed reviews about it, so I was kind of on the fence with that one.

The Ring and The Ring Two were pretty bad movies. I watched the Japanese ones and then the English versions just didn't match up. It's kinda like the Grudge but they kept the first Grudge at least very close to the original Japanese Ju-On.

Echo-chan713 05-18-2011 12:00 PM

The only times I saw Eragon was from the commercials/trailers and that was it, I never read the book so I don't kn now how it can be off. The 3rd Harry Potter was disappointed fail since they changed directors. They ended the movie in the middle of the book

Jurinjo 05-18-2011 01:49 PM

ugh Babylon AD was definately horrible I agree. So was Castaway. It was too longwinded and DEPRESSING. I kept hoping for some shed of light then they leave the stupid man there at a cliff hanger. horriblehorriblhorrible*keepsrepeatingwordtilhenee dsair*

I don't think the Twilight Series were necessarily bad since I did enjoy for laughs. Especially how well the movie was put together while not even considering the amount of time they took to put it together. Damn! o:

Cirque Du Freak I did not see mainly cause I saw that boy's huge buggy eyes and that mildly interesting trailer just dissolved. Shallow? Yes. But I read the books (before I knew of the movie)and I was not about to have the awesomeness of it ruined for me.
EDIT: jeeze i feel like a movie buff or something

aww, I'm quite sad because I actually loved the movie. A song that many probably identify with Titanic now is among my favorites. Though I can sort of put myself in your shoes for that perspective. I kind of liked the scope of the ship/world/events they captured by drawing it out like that. Just personal taste.

Yeah it wasn't really all that awesome. However I think Eragon is like the Sorcerer's Apprentice. If you love magic and fantasy stuff they are good movies for placing yourself inside that world.

yes 100%
I saw in 3D with a 3D fanatic friend, rather reluctantly. Even not drawing on the cartoon it wasn't all that great. Through the entire movie I was bothered by the skin color of the water and fire nation being reversed.

Echo-chan713 05-18-2011 04:24 PM

the only 2 things intresting in Titanic was Leonardo DiCaprio and the scence of him drawing a nude Katie Winslet with the necklace. For me who likes to draw I find it intresting. Everything else sucked

Seloria 05-18-2011 04:41 PM

A lot of people liked Titanic. They aren't wrong for liking it, everyone has their tastes, but yeah I didn't like it at all. At the time it came out too a lot of the girls were like "omg Leo is so hot!!" which I also disagree with. I think the best part of the movie was

As an actor he has grown a lot and become a lot better, but I still hate that movie, and still don't find him attractive lol

Echo-chan713 05-18-2011 07:56 PM

LOL, but I was young when the movie came out i was 7 so yea I had this weird thing over Leo then Orlando Bloom and now no one...now I look at him, I have no feeling towards him

Saiyouri 05-19-2011 08:58 AM

(。◕‿◕。) Harold and Kumar escape Guantamino.
That was the move disgusting thing I was
ever forced to watch and I still haven't
gotten over how sick it was. >.>;

Seloria 05-19-2011 12:54 PM

Echo: lol I get it, a lot of girls did think he was cute, I dunno, just not my type I guess. I always like Johnny Depp and would be his forever if he were to ask lol. I like Orlando Bloom too...

Saiyouri: I never watched that one, that was the sequel right? I have Harold and Kumar go to white-castle, I wouldn't say that was a great film, but I thought it was pretty funny so I own it... never got to watch Escape Guantanamo though.

Echo-chan713 05-19-2011 01:34 PM

Now I don't seem to have that whole "Idol attractioness" If that's what it can be called. I don't llike when people ask Who's my favorite celebrity I always give that I Don't have a favorite because I have none
