Fey 05-18-2011 01:00 AM

Ah, but you have to tell yourself the same things I tell myself with eeeeeeeeevery comic movie
Alternate. Universe.
Just like they have Ultimate and Mangaverse and What Ifs the movies are a different dimension than ours(616). If you do that the rage is easier to bear. Until they f#$%ing make Jean the f@##ing Phoenix ::breaths into a paper bag:: I'm better now. Swear. Oh dang, just remembered that they made Kurt SELF MUTILATING and NOT FUZZY ::rages some more::

Renata 05-18-2011 01:08 AM

lol yeah i try to not hardcore nerd rage at the movies but when they just do something entirely wrong theres no helping it and kurt=nightcrawler or kurt=angel?? but yeah i know that theres always those different dimensions but they always try to stay semi comic accurate even if the semi is a very thin line. and i'm sorta confused how theres something in the nex x movie where angel looks alot like wasp who you find out in the ultimates i believe that shes actually a mutant. but idk the cap movie could be ok i just idk i feel like i'm gonna rage hardcore if they don't do it right r do it justice. especially since the extremely f@%y Iron man has 2 crappy movies before cap even has 1.

Fey 05-18-2011 01:12 AM

kurt=nightcralwer
and if you go a few posts up you can see my answer on 'angel' in the upcoming movie.

And teeeeeeeechnically Cap's already had a movie, well, actually two. The first I barely recognize as cinima, the other is pretty bad as well...so be warned.

Renata 05-18-2011 01:24 AM

well i don't really count the old old old stuff cause those are long forgotten and only us comic eeks tend to know about those lol. but it's just not the same cause their calling it first class and she was not one of his first students but oh well screw you hollywood.

Fey 05-18-2011 01:31 AM

well, in all honesty it's got NOTHING to do with the first class, the first class faced off against magneto, not formed under him. At NO point was magneto on the x-men side(in 616...AoA is another kettle of fish entirely).

If it was really the first class we'd have Scott(still with that stick firmly lodged), Warren and Beast(not blue, or furry) working through college courses, Bobby being obnoxious and Jean being a bit of a tease. Then they'd face off against the Lensher Twins(unbeknownst to them), a very oddly dressed Toad and Magneto, king of the magenta!

So, yes, alternate reality, where Magnus wasn't ancient and pimpin' out his twins, and Charlie wasn't lusting after a youthful Ms. Grey.

And old movies never go away...just like old comics, they appreciate in value to discerning collectors ;)

Renata 05-18-2011 01:34 AM

lol that is very true and so have you heard or read anything of the new age of X alternate storyline?

Fey 05-18-2011 01:36 AM

I've not, sadly I've been out of the immediate loop for a bit now. I really, really need to get more current lines going.... Maybe this summer, to tie off with the movies :D

Renata 05-18-2011 01:40 AM

yeah i haven't really read much but I've seen some things about it and it seems interesting. Plus we've talked pretty much nothing but Marvel so I take it your a marvel fan as well?

Fey 05-18-2011 01:41 AM

yeah, I triiiiiiiiied to get into DC, but they have way more back story that's sorta important to know. And, well, I've never felt that attracted tot he Darkhorse or Image comics.

Renata 05-18-2011 01:45 AM

well darkhorse and image both have some decent things but outa the big 2 Marvel all the way and i mean DC has some decent stuff but lately most of its just sucked from what i heard and even marvel has gotten to the point where theres alot of backstory that you need to know like civil war and secret invasion and even the return of captain america arc.

Fey 05-18-2011 01:51 AM

true enough, I'm gonna have a LOT of catching up to do, but that's okay, it'll keep me out of trouble. The funny thing is I think I stopped seriously reading when Civil War hit...I just didn't care and my current comic shop was being taken over by new, idiot, management, so I didn't want to finance their takeover. Still miss the old shop, it was fantastic.

Sarah 05-18-2011 01:55 AM

most of the percentage of these newer movies i don't like.. they are either just plain stupid usually or have something nasty in it or something. sometimes i'll see something i wanna watch though..

Renata 05-18-2011 02:11 AM

Civil war is what got me huge into reading them cause i love cap and iron man can suck a nice rockhard walrus #(@* so seeing cap beat the crap out of ironman every time made me happy.

Fey 05-18-2011 09:54 AM

LOL I see that we might not be the largest Ironman fan Renata...but I can feel that, I loathe Jean Grey and Wolverine to extents often only used for war criminals.

Renata 05-18-2011 01:23 PM

lets see superheros on my s#$% list.

Ironman
Wolverine
Superman
Batman (love hate relationship with him)

I think thats about it and nah the super popular playboy that is so rich he builds new toys and thinks he's better than anyone cause hes an arogent sob yeah i love him so much....nah F ironman

Jurinjo 05-18-2011 01:36 PM

RAH. Just reading over the page one posts I have a reply to practically every person on that page xD;

Anyways I am somewhat bugged they're just pulling from all the Marvel comics for money but so psyched too. I remember all the advertisment they did on the first Hulk movie. No offense to anyone who has liked them but I HATED it.

Transformers: 1 was freaking awesome, 2 was pretty good but there were a few things in it that made me cringe

Xmen: 1) good, 2) Even better I love the intensity of the drama, 3) I'm anticipating the professor's return through the body of the man with no mind that he mentioned at the beginning of the movie. But killing jean and especially him makes me wonder about how the entire universe will continue on. Strangely the way they killed everyone off jsut really pissed me off.

Batman: the one with Joker was EPIC. I loved just about everything in the movie EXCEPT the chaos through most of it. I have a love for organization; I want things to be orderly. Things in the movie...well if you seen it you saw how things just spiraled out of control. Good movie, but I sat through a lot of it with an intense anger.

Captain America: never really a fan of that guy. I might see it once it comes out on Red Box since it's $1 The trailer didn't portray awesome enough to me

Thor: Well...there was nothing else in the movie theater at the time for me to even consider watching (except Rio but I'm 20 and it's a busy saturday...and by myself. Self conscious). Anyways the graphics weren't bad genreally it did a good job as a movie. But it wasn't WOW that's freaking amazing. I will say though I did enjoy how Loki was portrayed. The only surprise to me in the movie was him being an Ice colloassas.

/END LONG RAMBLE

Renata 05-18-2011 01:48 PM

well thor wasn't going for action it was going for more of an explanation of things to shape the way things are going to be in the avengers movie and have not seen it yet so no spoilers plox.

Jurinjo 05-18-2011 02:02 PM

...Oh yeah I forgot about the Avengers xD
I can't remember much of the reruns I've seen as a kid. Honestly I was more into the Superfriends(?)

Renata 05-18-2011 03:10 PM

ehhh always been an avengers fan over the justice league/superfriends and that makes me say that I've been watching the new show Avengers Earth mightiest heroes and it's not bad i'm enjoying it alot actually

Fey 05-18-2011 08:44 PM

Ju, I'm assuming you're referring to the Hulk made a while ago, not the 'original' hulk movie(that involved purple short/pants). I actually really liked how they shot that. Felt like how I wanted the Hulk movie to feel. They were never going to be able to shoot it in a way that made me go 'yep, large angry green man', the comic book style was perfect imo.

:: sits amused that eeeeeeeeeeveryone liked the first two x-men movies::

seriously?

I mean, seriously? LOL, oh well, guess I can't say much, I watched them all in theater and own them on DVD. And, just fyi, killing people off doesn't affect aaaaaaanything. There's enough ways to get 'em back(please no jean, please please please!) that it'll just be moot. Part of me wonders though, if they killing off was so that those actors could get out of contracts...and bring in NEW actors!

And I was an equal opportunity girl, I'm willing to watch Avengers, Justice Friends, pretty much gimme a super hero and I'll watch.

Renata 05-18-2011 09:44 PM

I will as well like i'm thinking about watching the new dc show youngjustice but yeah Fey if you haven't check out avengers EMH they have the full episodes up on marvel.com

Fey 05-19-2011 02:23 AM

ah, sweet, I'll have to go look on marvel.com...and hide my moneies so I'm not tempted to spend it on things I find.

Duchess 05-19-2011 02:56 AM

I told my mum the same thing after the trailers in the cinema. But my gripe isn't really that it's not "original"...it's that they are all adaptations xDD

And it ALSO isn't because I think they are lacking creativity... I just fear that they are only doing this because of the MONEY!!

It's easier to make money off of a franchise or series that has tried and proven to have fans willing to dish out their money. A new concept or storyline doesn't have this backing of pre-existing fans.

So even tho... there may be original screenplays and storylines being written and pitched, the studios DON'T want to give out their money to produce them because there's no guarantee that they'd make the money back.

Compared to a X-Men movie. There are already Thousands of fans of X-men, so ticket sales are guaranteed because of the fan base. When trying something new, you have to market it harder and dish out more money to get the audience interested.

So yeh... I'm not sad because ohh it's not original.. I'm sad because it means that studios no longer want to take risks =[

Fey 05-19-2011 03:13 AM

yeah, but really it's only shifted over the years. Used to be they'd only use certain Actors/Actresses cause they knew people would go see them, or just specific writers or Directors. I personally have no issues with adaptations, and yesh, they want to make money, but that's kinda the point in a capitalist market. You don't want to drop millions on a movie(Airbender) and not make that back.

To the same extent I agree, I wish they would take a few more risks on unquie storylines, but it's hard to walk that fine line between original and reworked.

Duchess 05-19-2011 03:22 AM

There's not really much you can do about it, really... Even though I didn't approve of it then... and I dont' approve now xD. I'm not really fond of the whole money as the ultimate goal thing. It's just really stupid imo

Which..would probably explain why I haven't watched movies in cinemas recently. Most of the times when I go, it's because someone else wanted to see it and i have no reason to say no myself :S

That being said.... I'm not excited for any of the coming attraction. It's just...bland to me. Except probably Fast 5. I kinda like cars that go vroom vroom. XDD

Renata 05-19-2011 03:54 AM

Fast Five was an amazing movie 1 problem it was too much Expendables and not enough Fast and Furious. I'm actually really excited for the lineup of movies i tend to keep up with that sorta thing with the spare time and boredom and it seems like they have a decent amount of nice titles coming out even if it is just reworked and not original since in a sense there is no originality in stories any more since somewhere out there it's been done. Marvel.com i don't even look at their store i just went straight to the videos cause i know better lol.

Yes the more recent ones with all the CG.

lol They kind of brought jean back for the 3rd. They might find a way again. And how does it not affect anything? When I saw patrick stewart as Xavier in the first movie I thought "perfect". If they decide to bring xavier back...well in my mind xmen just isn't the same when he isn't there.

Yes that would be a good way to get new actors. Never thought of that...though I noticed how that happens in movies. Right now I can only think of George of the Jungle right now xD

Actually.. THAT reminds me of the ending scene in Bolt XDD

Where the lead girl, Penny.. or something so, quit being on the show... so they explained the new replacement actress as her getting plastic surgery after an injury. I thought that was clever.

Jurinjo 05-19-2011 08:39 AM

lol I remember that. Yes pretty clever. I was more laughing that the pigeon's alien idea somehow gets used xD

Plus cute little house in the middle of nowhere actually reminds me of the first movie of the Little Toaster. :3

Fey 05-19-2011 11:19 AM

How does killing them not affect anything? Cause they'll just bring them back, that's the hallmark of a comic after all. But yeah, I really can't see anyone else as Prof X than Patrick Stewart...if they try it I know I'll be depressed. But, seriously, they bring Jean back and I'll more than froth at the mouth. Her staying dead in the comics(for a while now) is the only reason I even bother to still read them upon occasion.

Oh lord, now I want to watch both Brave Little Toaster movies....

Renata 05-19-2011 02:03 PM

yeah i want to watch that movie now as well and they hinted at the end of the 3rd X movie that prof X is still alive.

Fey 05-20-2011 01:22 AM

Oh I know about the ending with the Prof...I'm just not sure they'll keep Mr Stewart...but I was insaaaaaaaaaaaanly happy x3 gave us Moira, and that it ended on Muir, so we have the slim, minuscule, hope of any x4 starting there ::bounces happily::

Renata 05-20-2011 04:39 AM

although they did say the wouldn't be anymore x movies so i don't know and i barely remember 3 i kinda blocked it out and btw I really like the newest pirates movie not really the same but it was also pretty decent imo.

Fey 05-20-2011 11:24 AM

oh I dunno, they successfully plan to do a lot of 'origins' movies, so that can easily bring in the characters again :D
And don' spoiler me on the pirates movie! I dunno when I'll get to see it!

Renata 05-20-2011 01:07 PM

Wasn't gonna spoil anything other than if youve heard the nomnomnom song and have a mind like me you'll have it playing in your head in one scene. and yeah i glad on some of the origins movies as long as they give them to the awesome characters like gambit and cyclops

Hermes 05-20-2011 02:59 PM

I'm a huge American Comic Book fan, and especially a fan of Captain America, Deadpool, and Green Lantern. They RUINED Deadpool in the Wolverine: Origins movie. They appear to have made the Green Lantern a rather asenine fellow, from the previews, but it still might be pretty good.

Cpatain America.

That's the big one.

I cannot WAIT to see that movie 8D

Renata 05-20-2011 03:37 PM

The green lantern one looks good and yeah wolverines deadpool was so messed up

Madam Kira 05-21-2011 11:51 AM

The only one I'm excited about is Transformers. Green Lantern looks like it's going to be bad. ://

Fey 05-21-2011 12:03 PM

I am excited for Transformers :) Though, I have to ask, why does Green Lantern look like its going to be bad? I'm not a Huge DC follower so I just know that I like the previews, but don't rally know a lot of the back-plot on the storyline.

Renata 05-21-2011 01:31 PM

im close to the same with Fey
