Godrick... is NOT supposed to be Eric's maker. Also made me incredibly mad. -_-' Eric's maker is supposed to not even be mentioned for another five seasons or so.
Bill isn't supposed to be in this season at all but of course they don't even stick to any semblance of the books and it's getting frustrating. I'm only watching the season in hopes of seeing Eric in those red undies.

there's currently... 11 books. So if they're going by that... more than 11. Although I suspect it will be cancelled/ended first.

I try not to compare the books to the show. It's better to think of them as separate. Or else you will be frustrated and not enjoy yourself. o_o Just trying to ease your pain. The makers of the show just want everything to be new and surprising. Which they are doing a good job with. ^^ I get surprised all the time. If the show were predictable and obvious, I don't think people who be attracted to it. I'm a big fan of Eric, and enjoy everything about him ;] I think he is the best guy for sookie (even though I want him!).

I haven't read the books I don't know if I ever will I might try one day though I have a ton of other books I want to read and I have been more into historical fiction lately then fantasy.

That's true...Most shows don't / or won't go on for that long...
Maybe until season 9 or possibly 8 it would end. I don't know many shows that have 10 seasons (are there?)
But yes. I enjoy the books. I don't read alot but I liked them.
It takes something really interesting for me to read and finish books. Maybe I will buy the rest of them eventually! <3

I /try/ to separate them, but when they are butchering the characters (bill and Sam and tara) and fucking up entire things (fairies, most of the plot) I have a hard time with it. The characters are barely the same. Same names different characters almost. Sam is /not/ at all supposed to be like he is, and it's frustrating. They at least kind of kept Eric. Bill's not supposed to be an ass (although I do hate him regardless of the show or books) and uuuuugh.

I think I may be able to deal with the plot differences if they would at LEAST of made the characters have the same personalities. -_-'

The only personality that annoys me very much is Tara's. She just cries all the time and quivers her lip and eyebrow all the time. She needs to be tough! Seriously! But I guess they might make her "tough-ish" with the whole fighting thing that she is doing? They are pushing Bill into being an ass, I guess. But seriously, I just hope people see Bill for the crap that he is. You still like the show, right? There may be drastic differences with the book - show thing. But I still love the show for what it is. As far as the way the characters are acting in the show, Sookie annoys me because she still doesn't like Eric. I hope that changes! (It better)

Tara is awesome don't get me wrong. But she has been acting the same through the whole thing. I feel so bad for her. I just want good stuff to happen to her. She is always so messed up :/

Sam is the most drastic to me. He's snippy and an ass in the show, when he's supposed to be very patient and kind in the books. It's incredibly frustrating mostly with him. And although I hate Bill, he's still supposed to be overall a damn good guy, but with mistakes. In the show they're also making him into an ass.

But I'm glad Sookie doesn't like Eric yet. It's not supposed to happen yet. She's not supposed to really love him for him for quite a while still... But that's just... based off the books. XD But that part of plot change I won't mind unless they ex out poor Quinn. God I hope they bring him in. I looooved me my Quinn!

OH AND ANDY! WTF ARE THEY DOING WITH ANDY? x.x' God, they're fuckin' up the characters more than they are the plot more that I think on it. And that's pretty hard to do... ~sigh~

Well they did make him have a rough past. Maybe they will change his ways later in the book. He can't stay KIND forever :p That would just be "unrealistic" I guess they are trying to at least make they behaviors something that would happen in real life? I hate Bill,even if they did make him a "good guy" I still wouldn't like him. So I don't really care about that as long as sookie friggin understands that he is a douche! She is still backing him up even when he is an ASS, so I guess they are really trying to make sookie not like him at all anymore , which is what I want!
Sookie starts liking Amnesia Eric. I mean she spends time with him after all! Taking care of him and whatever. How can you Not love him?? ^^ But actually LOVE LOVE him...Yeah that happens later. I want to see who plays Quinn!

It would be frustrating to watch it if it's not true to the books I guess it's a good thing I have never read it but it's also a good thing as well for me because if I ever do read it it will be different I am not good at reading things when I already know whats going to happen.

I read a book and they made a movie out of it and the movie totally butchered the book it made me mad they might as well have not said the movie was based of the books because they just made everything backwards compared to the book if I was the writer of the book I wouldn't have let them make the movie after I read the script.

As a writer, you sell the rites to the book to the movie producers when they buy it. You have no choice on the script or nothing. I believe at least.

Well Sam's got his points in the books, but overall he's a level-headed and nice guy. That's just his personality, that's how he is. And they've made him into just a manwhore asshole in the show it seems and it's making me so mad. x.x'

I loved last night's episode. Eric was so adorable with his lost memories... I love the way Alex plays the lost look... SO CUTE! And the way he says sorry all the time now... XD

I've watched two episodes - the first one, after which I lost access to HBO and couldn't be bothered to look up and watch the show online, and a week or so ago my friend made me watch one of the more recent episodes (no idea where the show's at now, so I can't how many episodes ago it was). I thought it was interesting, but not exactly spectacular.

I'm more into reading the books than watching the show, if I'm honest. I read the first chapter of the first book, and while there were several questionable, cheesy lines, the environment in which the story takes place is interesting to me.

The people who make the show BASED off the books don't make it the same. Or else you'd be watching the exact same thing you've read and everything would just be Copied. They wanted to make it different and spontaneous I guess. For the people who've seen the show First, the LOVE the show for what it is. You just have to have an open mind about it, and just enjoy.

thats why i some times (most of the time) wait until the while season is out but it's also good to watch it live because if the ratings aren't good then the show will get canceled. though most shows I want to watch live I couldn't because I don't have cable or anything like that.

I am also waiting for Tudors to get cheap so I can buy all those seasons as well. I am also hoping that they will make a box set with all the Harry potter movies and when that becomes cheap I will buy all those as well. I don't like to spend more then $10 on a dvd though I don't know what I would consider cheap for a box set.

Box sets Range on price. I once bought a box set for almost 100 dollars.
But that was reasonable considering there were MANY dvd in that box set with Tons of episodes. But it wasn't the whole show.
I have the Godfather box set. The star wars set, and the lord of the rings box set. ^^ I love them. I also have the Yuyu hakusho box sets.
But yesh. I will buy the True Blood box sets eventually!!!

The true blood box sets sell for about $60 a season around here. thats too much for me!
