Wicked 09-30-2011 09:25 AM

It's morning for me too.
NINJA! Hey sweetie.

Alice Ann, we're not too far from one another. I'm in Illinois.

Sath 09-30-2011 09:26 AM

*waves too everyone because his mouth is full of cake and can't talk to say hi*

Wicked 09-30-2011 09:28 AM

Heh. *waves back*

Hey there Sath!

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 09:28 AM

Good Morning Ninja!
Ooooh~ yeah you're fairly close... hehe Sath, starting the morning out right with a pile of cake. http://i.imgur.com/llTUq.gif

Do you ever come to any anime cons in Ohio Wicked? Oooo~ Ninja do you do cons?

Wicked 09-30-2011 09:32 AM

I've actually never been to a con. T_T
Or that far East. I've been Southeast. I'm on a bit of a ramble.

Short answer was "nope."

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 09:35 AM

Haha! Feel free to ramble, I'm really chatty too. Cons are a lot of fun, when ever I meet someone who lives "near by" I always ask them if they do Ohayocon. I only live about 45minutes from where they have it. ^^

Hmmm south huh? I've been to Florida, if that counts.~

Wicked 09-30-2011 09:38 AM

Me too! That's what I was going to ramble about. DISNEY!!
I was only ten when we went so I don't remember all that much.

Sath 09-30-2011 09:39 AM

I've never been to a anime convention and I used to live in Maryland where they had Otakon! D=

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 09:41 AM

Oh oh ohoh! I used to work for Disney!
I've actually been several times. When I was in school we were consistently invited to the music days they have. But what I did there was well... intern, hmmm I was we'll say 21 when I did the internship and I loved it. I've worked for a few interesting places. All in all... yes I'm very old I'm 26.

Wicked 09-30-2011 09:41 AM

I've tried to get to Chicago's Comic Con for the last three years.
It's always a matter of lack of money or getting time off work.

Edit: LOL you're like a few months older than me and have done way more interesting things based on that little bit of info.

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 09:47 AM

Comic Con is /expensive/ as is E3 I'm yet to get to go to either, then E3 went corporate (boo). Though I /was/ invited once to both through a small company I voice acted for. That happened once and we STILL didn't get to go, even with an invite. It's just that expensive to set up with tickets, hotel, and all that lovely jazz.

Wicked 09-30-2011 09:50 AM

Yeah... *sigh* someday! I'd really like to go.

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 09:54 AM

*pours a fresh cup of tea for us both, and gives Sath some ginger ale*

You'll get there! :D
Well if you are ever in Ohio, think about the con here - it's only about we'll say $30 for all 3 days. The hotel is inexpensive too and gives discounts for con goers. It's right on the main Ohio highway travel to it is cheap too - so it's a really nice first con. It's in January to boot, very very close to tax return time!

Wicked 09-30-2011 09:58 AM

I might have to look into that. If I can ever get around to replacing my hot water heater I'll start setting some money aside. I don't know if my husband would be super interested in going to a con but it would be nice for us to get away from the everyday.

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 10:08 AM

Yes yes! It's a great get away. Sath and I are going. ^^

I hope you can get a new water heater soon, that can't exactly be a nice thing to deal with.

Wicked 09-30-2011 10:10 AM

It's not really a big deal.
Boil water on the stove and pretend I'm a pioneer. ><

I do want to get it fixed before winter sets in.
If only so the pipes don't all freeze up and then I've got a way bigger problem.

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 10:15 AM

Yeek, yes. That happened once at a house I lived at, right under the house. I was in a panic I had no idea what to do, it was fixed before anything exploded though. That was a sign of relief.

Wicked 09-30-2011 10:18 AM

That's what I'm worried about. it will all asplode and then where will I be?
I certainly couldn't afford to fix THAT. Sheesh. It was a lot easier when we were renting. The water heater would have been the landlord's problem and would have likely been fixed within a week or two of it breaking down.

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 10:22 AM

True true~
For that exact reason I'm terrified of buying a house myself, even though it's something I'd love to have. I defiantly hope you guys get it replaced before that can occur, fixing something like that is near impossible. But, it sounds like you're doing pretty good so far.

Wicked 09-30-2011 10:25 AM

Tell me about Disney..!
I used to read a blog from this guy who worked there
and he wasn't exactly in love with it. :/

Tell me mostly fun things.
I mean, you can tell me non-fun stuffs too, of course.
But! Fun things.

Wicked 09-30-2011 10:29 AM

Ooh I found a fun thing on Dragon-Con.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYDrw...ayer_embedded#!

I wouldn't have anything to WEAR if I go to a con.
Well. Comic book shirts but nothing SPIFFY.

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 10:36 AM

Well... I have to say I agree with that person's blog it can be really really rough work. There is a lot of perks though, lots of discounts, even on travel and such. But the best part was getting to do things before the park was even open. We also get access to any of the parks for free.

But I think my best story is this:
I had gone in for work really early once, the thing is well... I was a tech. ^^;
That's a story all in its own right, basically I was able to help maintain the various rides and a few other neat things. It was rough but in my own sick way I loved it.
Anyways as I was saying, I had gone in early and was cleaning something. A lady in a dark maid dress walks right up to me; sure enough it was one of the girls from the haunted mansion, and bluntly said they needed a tech to do a run through.

The thing about the haunted mansion ride.... well any ride really when you do a "run through" a single person goes on the ride. Pretty straight forward right? Sure, that's great if you're on say Whinnie the Pooh or something. [I was stuck on that one a lot, it was constantly having issues with the motion sensor but that's yet another story]

For the mansion ... it's different ... they have special emergency lights, and alternative sound track for testing. Creepiest ... thing ... on ... earth. Gaa thinking about it gives me chills. So, yes it's so creepy that they made one of the maids come find me and make me do it. =_=;
It's pretty sad that even the greeters won't do it.

So here I am on this ride, I was shaking by the time it was done. Ran past their manager "everythingisfineokbye". They eventually invited me to be a more consistent tech for them since I'd actually do the run and walk through but needless to say I said "no".

It was awesome though, haha.

Wicked 09-30-2011 10:40 AM

That. Was a great story. I sooooo want to ride the scary version!
I love haunted house attractions and things. Not saying I wouldn't be scared.
Just that I would kind of like it.

I gotta go to bed. I'm nodding off at the keyboard.
Have an awesome day! See you soon. <3

Alice Ann 09-30-2011 10:42 AM

I enjoy scary stuff too, even if it does its job.
Thank you so much for your company, sleep well, and take care! <3

Hello. ^.^ Lolita fashion is sooo cute! So is your cafe here. *Nibbles cakes and sips teas.*

I have lots of fun on Poupeegirl. It's a Japanese dress up site that is rather profile based. You can dress up your avatar and post pictures of your real life clothes. Lots of Loli fashion there.

Lost_Ninja9213 10-02-2011 05:53 PM

i like the look, could never think of wearing any of it ^_^

Angel Spirit Girl 10-02-2011 07:58 PM

Yeah. I don't own any real lolia stuff, and I may be a bit old for it. But, it looks so cute.

Lost_Ninja9213 10-02-2011 09:40 PM

ive kbeen drawing lolita-ish clothes for someones OC/avi, but since i dont see this kind of clothes around much, its more difficult than usual....i think ill check out the site you posted :P

nyreen 10-03-2011 06:01 PM

nyreen 10-04-2011 01:59 PM

Ouuu exams. xD
Good luck!~

Alice Ann 10-04-2011 04:12 PM

*swallows hard*
erm...
>is 26 and is a real life lolita<
Yeaaah... all this set up ^^; it's not pretend its things I actually do.
Please do not think less of me because of that. I actually shop at bodyline and places like that. The outfit my avi is wearing, is very very similar to something I have in real life. I also make and sell jewelry and head dresses... it's how I pay for a lot of things. It's a funny little world I live in.

On a side note I've been drawing and designing clothes for about eh 14 years? I also have a manga coming out. The best advice I can give you about lolita clothing design Ninja, is take a look at a lot of Victorian and steam punk styles, and lighten them up. Never be afraid to go over board, or worried the character will look odd or too young. Lolita is an actual respected clothing style... and have outfits going upwards... for example a coat I nearly bought once was ... %300. The money actually went towards buying a bunch of copic markers. I don't even want to talk about my art supplies.....

On a final note, I love poupee girl! It's where I got my little strawberry emote from. Also... sorry I poofed. ^^; I have a couple very large projects I have deadlines for and it's not a pretty sight.

Echo-chan713 10-04-2011 04:43 PM

*walks in and sets the weapon off to the side*

may I have a cupcake with the rainbow sprinkles

Wicked 10-04-2011 05:45 PM

I think it's awesome Alice Ann.
Something I could never dedicate myself to! A lot of work. Heck, most days I can barely be bothered to do more than pull my hair back into a ponytail. So I actually have a lot of respect toward anyone who can dedicate themselves to the Lolita lifestyle.

Lost_Ninja9213 10-04-2011 07:15 PM

Wow that actually sounds reeally cool :D i wish i could craft or make something to be able to sell (just went to craft fair, such beautiful and awesome stuff people can make!!) do you have a website where you sell the stuff?

Wicked 10-04-2011 07:36 PM

Wicked wants to know too!
Just because I'm lazy doesn't mean I don't like pretty little doodads.

Lost_Ninja9213 10-04-2011 08:31 PM

is there usually a delay when buying event items? my number of crystals went down, but no items...

Alice Ann 10-04-2011 08:57 PM

*serves Echo the cute cupcake with a smile!* Enjoy! Thank you for joining us.

Alright~ yes, I do have an esty shop but it's currently down, I haven't made enough items lately. I want to knit a bunch of kitty hats!

Though I'd be happy to take some photographs of things I've made simply to show.

Long story short I do a lot of crafts, when I was about eh 8/9ish? I promised myself I'd learn at least one new skill a year. Needless to say I have a lot of hobbies.
