But it's.....it's so bad for you.
I'm not really a health food nut, though, I just don't like process food. I can taste the difference. In Ireland, most of the food is cooked/sold near to the place where it is grown, with the exception of exotic fruits and other imported materials. There's seriously a taste difference. |
And I bet it costs more in American dollars. Just saying.
We don't have family dinners here like you see on tv. Everyone eats on their own so there's no point in buying things you have to cook. It's usually in portions for more than one. |
I eat a lot of hummus and bell peppers and easy-to-make food because i just don't have the time to be "LET ME COOK THIS DELICIOUS IRISH DINNER" or "LET ME PREPARE THIS DELICIOUS GERMAN LUNCH"
I used to eat family dinners a lot - my mum would blow her top if we didn't at least have one meal a day together. Now I live on my own, though, but i eat dinner with a group when I visit my brother. What do you mean by portions? For more than one? |
Hummus sounds nasty. I like those frozen stuffed bell peppers from stouffers.
Yeah. You know a box of mac n cheese is meant for more than one person. Which means when I make one....I'm eating an entire box of mac and cheese by myself. Which cuts out many of the chances for the other food groups...like veggies and the like. |
UGH mac and cheese. I dunno how you can stand that.
I don't always eat healthy, but I try to at least include a majority of the food groups in my daily eating (excepting fats and oils) i really don't get fast food at all. it's so unhealthy. and it smells funny. |
It's CHEESE! CHEESE AND NOODLES! What isn't good about that?
Fast food is <3 especially things with bacon. And it's cheaper than buying the shit to make food especially since it would be only me and possibly my mother eating it. Mac n cheese is better than ramen and peanut butter sandwiches which I had to live off of for an entire summer. |
I remember by sandwich days. First year of college. <3
Bacon, as in the very burnt kind that Americans call bacon? Because let me tell you, my bacon is way different that yours ;) |
Burnt and crispy are two different things. Believe me. I know. Crispy is good. Burnt is nasty as HELL.
It was because my mother refused to buy any food other than peanut butter (so peanut butter sanwiches) and those horrible for you maruchan things of ramen. I lived off of that for about 3 months. |
Well, crispier than what I'd call bacon. I'm not a huge bacon person anyway, though meat. Meat is good.
I don't think I could stand that, I can't each too much ramen or my bowels will disapprove. I like craisins :3 |
I love bacon, but I rarely if ever get to eat it.
It's all she would buy which made my uterus disapprove for over two weeks at a time before it would take a rest for under a week....and then the cycle repeats. |
I actually think it's kind of cool when they get several carts worth of stuff for less than ten bucks. I'd like to meet someone who could work the system like that! Wouldn't want to be one of them though. I know what you mean about the crazy side of it. People who's marriages are falling apart because they won't stop buying crap. The people who donate the surplus of items are pretty freaking cool.
|
It's good that people donate surplus. I just don't think anyone needs that amount of stuff in their house.
Apparently a load of them are hoarders, as well. And ugh - did you get a load of infections, Yokuutsu? |
No infections. Just my uterus hating me because I wasn't getting nutrients that I needed.
|
Ugh. Try to supplement your diet with at least some form of fruit a day, it will make a DIFFERENCE. i can't even conceive eating like that.
|
Get my mother to buy some fruit.
She's skipped getting food for almost an entire month. So if she did get any, I'd be tempted to kind of hoard it instead of eat it since I can't trust her to get more. |
I'll admit; in my household, we use a lot of coupons. And most of our groceries are either on sale or coupon'd. But, we are nowhere NEAR as extreme as some of the people on this show. I mean, good gods, I saw one woman on there who missed her child's soccer game because there was a sale going on and she had coupons. Saving money is good and all, but there is a line, and that crossed it.
|
I haven't seen that one yet thats just sad. miss your kid's soccer game so you can stalk up on stuff and leave none for the rest of the customers who might want to get something while it's on sale and not all stores give out rain-checks.
|
almost makes me want to start watching it again
|
I like to watch it just for the fact that I am amazed by it and also that I find people crazy lol
|
A lot of the people seem mental, if you ask me.

on the show and in life
