I just put my discs in and play them, and use the hard drive to save with a virtual memory card.

Ishu 11-10-2011 02:52 PM

Ah, the hard drive. So it's possible it's just a bit inconvenient. I prefer the memory cards fro the olden says. ^^

Serra Britt 11-10-2011 02:55 PM

Yea, I don't have any way to transfer the files from my memory cards to the PS3 hard drive, which is sad. So I do have to start over on everything pretty much.

Suzerain of Sheol 11-10-2011 03:05 PM

I'll just mention that I have never been able to get an original XBOX game to work on my 360. I think it may be because I can't get online with it to update. The router is something to keep in mind when comparing prices for the consoles, too.

I still have my original backwards-compatible PS3 around (blow-dryer fix for the win!) but even though it *could* run PS2 games, I found that a lot of them didn't run very well. I usually just my PS2.

Yokuutsu 11-10-2011 04:12 PM

@Serra Britt

I think they removed most backward capability with ps1 games due to it making the system cheaper.

But I had a lot more ps2 games. So it's disappointing when they don't have backwards capability with the previous gen >_<

Obbiesan 11-10-2011 04:14 PM

Yes both systems gave up on back words comparability after about a year of the systems being out

Yokuutsu 11-10-2011 04:21 PM

So Sony Playstation? Lost a loyal customer. If they had kept the backwards capability....I would've bought one. But they didn't so I went to the 360 since both got the games I wanted. 360 was cheaper and I didn't care what it had backward capability because I never had the original.

PS3 cost more...and I wouldn't be able to play my old games on it, so no.

Obbiesan 11-10-2011 04:26 PM

yea same here i mean i do want a ps3 for alike oh 4 games but i can stick with my psp cause they released the older final fantasy games recently for download for like 10 bucks and you can play them on the psp

Yokuutsu 11-10-2011 04:29 PM

Is the new psp out yet?

Ishu 11-10-2011 04:30 PM

@Yokuutsu: I'm the same way. I was hardcore/diehard PS fan for a long time. I found out they did not have backwards compatibility and, after completely rejecting the xbox360 for a few good years, I finally bought one off of my friend. I have to say I prefer it to the PS3.

Obbiesan 11-10-2011 04:31 PM

i do not believe the new psp is out cause i know i want it

Yokuutsu 11-10-2011 04:32 PM

@Ishu
Currently playstation isn't in the running on consoles. It's Nintendo vs. Microsoft. And Nintendo is only winning due to handheld systems. Which I would like Microsoft to come out with one and bring on the xbox games I didn't have a chance at-like the spyro one.

Ishu 11-10-2011 04:37 PM

@Yokuutsu: I borderline despise handhelds :/ They just don't work for me. They have their uses and I only use them when I travel but... yeah, they just seem kind of pointless.

Yokuutsu 11-10-2011 04:39 PM

@Ishu
But some games are only for a handheld D:

Like Dragon Quest 9 Sentinels of the Starry Skies D:

And LoZ Ocarina of time....unless you want to buy it for wii points or got it for the n64 (my first zelda was windwaker >> << )

Ishu 11-10-2011 04:43 PM

@Yokuutsu:

I have 2 GBA SPs, 1 PSP and 1 DS. If I want a game bad enough, I can just buy it xD I will say I tend to get every pokemon game that comes out. ^^ Even though I don't always finish them xD I have a lot of unopened games (still package sealed too) that I am waiting to play. o 3o

Yokuutsu 11-10-2011 04:50 PM

@Ishu

BLASPHEMY! OPEN AND PLAY THEM GAMES NOW!
I got rid of my psp-beat the only two games I saw I wanted for them. I have a DS and a 3DS (had a gba).

Ishu 11-10-2011 05:00 PM

@Yokuutsu: xD You'll yell at me more once I tell you what games I have sealed up. FF5 and FF:CC. Some others I'm sure >> I'm too lazy to look.

Yokuutsu 11-10-2011 05:11 PM

@Ishu

D: D: DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:

GET TO PLAYING THEM! D:

I wish I had more final fantasy handheld games .-.

Alpha 11-10-2011 05:20 PM

Personally, I think the Xbox 360 is better, but both systems perform well and keep getting better. While you may have to pay for the Xbox's online gaming, they have suffered fewer setbacks due to hackers, strain, etc. than the Playstation's.

RedRum 12-10-2011 09:28 PM

Never touched nor had an interest in either.

8bit 12-10-2011 11:12 PM

Personally i like the ps3 better, dont have to pay for internet :) and has more jap based games I believe. Though Xbox is green which is pretty awesome.

Echo-chan713 12-11-2011 01:48 AM

should this thread be in Gamer Heaven?

Desserts 12-11-2011 10:34 AM

I know there more xbox 360players because I always meet them.-___- Well I think you should buy a ps3 because you get wireless connection, blue ray,Ps plus, Also you save money because you don't have to pay monthly or yearly like xbox 360 people do.

Zerook 12-12-2011 10:51 PM

Xbox 360 is cheaper if you don't take the online gaming route. I used to be a big Sony fan until PS3 came out. It just seems overkill.

Foxy 12-13-2011 10:05 PM

PS3 is SO much better. I've heard many complaints of how people's XBox just randomly died. It's ridiculous.

Hera 12-13-2011 10:35 PM

Ps3 FTW :)

hyjin 12-13-2011 11:49 PM

please we do not need this type of argument here.
both consoles have their differences and both networks have their differences.
I'm an xbox person and i don't give a flying f*** about which console is better. i don't care about free live and i don't care about blue ray. i don't care about paying or even how s*** graphics are on the consoles.

SO in all this doesn't need to be here!

Alpha 12-22-2011 04:35 AM

I kinda agree with hyjin on this one. Everyone has there own opinion and preferences.

Although, I will state my biggest reason for preferring the 360 over the PS3 is that it's online service very rarely experiences issues. True, it is subscription based, but with that comes a better quality of service (i.e. better servers, firewalls, etc.) which generally ensures that it doesn't get hacked and taken down....like a certain Playstation Network......
