That's not true. I have friends and people I know who don't have and probably won't get a bachelor's degree (at least for a long time if ever) who will go far in life so long as they keep working hard and the right mind set.

If you want to be a chef, I say go for it. Make sure it is what you want though.

I want to be a caterer. But yeah, that's what my parents say... they won't help me through college if i am just doing that....

Ah, well, I don't know what to say then besides what I already have. Actually, I would say look into it and see what you can find because it seems odd that there isn't at least one school with a bachelor's program in cooking.

And any particular type of dessert or just the general area? I know my area of specialty in cooking tends to hover with meats and vegetables. Deserts aren't quite my forte.

*chuckles* true enough. Presentation does still matter though....I am just not the best at it. I can do general coordination and placement, but it won't look pretty by any stretch of the imagination.

My girlfriend is much the same. She prefers to make deserts. Granted she and I are both a bit crazy when we have had sugar, but that is another topic.

We kinda have the arrangement where most of the dinner cooking will be done by me while she gets the desserts, although we are free to switch and help at any point.

I will likely be doing something similar....or more likely a charity....or maybe both. I will have to wait until I am settled into classes and more able to give it the attention that it will need.
