They do. It is worse though when they ask for an opinion, you give it, and then they get offended.

littl3chocobo 01-25-2012 09:07 PM

well i found out what banana and coconut mean though i will still only relate the two to things that taste good XD

Poggio 01-25-2012 10:23 PM

XD I know what a cracker a banana, a coconut, a twinkie, a chino a schmuck ( though I prefer dumkophf ) and a few others are. I dont know when an Otaku became bad or a what a mick is.

Never say Nigguh it does not matter who you are and even if the culture embraces it.

Yokuutsu 01-26-2012 12:59 AM

Otaku has always been bad from the Japanese point of view.

It means obsessed which is bad no matter what you're obsessed about. Even if it would be great minus to level of obsession.

But the definition of words do change over time depending on usage.

Tiva 01-26-2012 01:27 PM

Hmmmmm homework is offensive.... or at least to me it is

hyjin 01-26-2012 01:31 PM

Exploding penis... its a minecraft reference for a creeper...

Toxic Rainbow Kisses 01-26-2012 03:59 PM

Ginger - Didnt see this offense
Inside Jokes - Or this
Au Natural - How is this offensive?
References to Chicken Fried Rice, But but but I love Chicken fried rice

Tiva 01-26-2012 04:09 PM

Context apparently.... But hey she took offense.

hyjin 01-26-2012 04:57 PM

Some people find it rude if we use inside jokes and when we try to explain they begin to yell at us before we do...

And the ginger thing we didnt get it either but we have been yelled at about it... it was really stupid though...

understandable.

You could add Plastic to the list. which is a term used for people who are friendly and optimistic but in the inside they are fake and cheap.

Tiva 01-29-2012 02:12 AM

I agree with that

hyjin 01-29-2012 01:40 PM

Yep... they also used that in the movie Mean Girls...

Kali_Namir 01-29-2012 02:56 PM

...Not gonna lie...I may have used Plastics before to talk about the horrid females that used to be vile to everyone...

Echo-chan713 01-29-2012 03:14 PM

then theres Guido and Guidettes from Jersey Shores

hyjin 01-29-2012 03:16 PM

YES that has to be on the list.

Tiva 01-29-2012 03:51 PM

I have called people that.... she had soooo many clothes, it took two SUVs to move her into her dorm room.

Dorian Pavus 01-30-2012 01:25 AM

All the teachers and staff at my Uni think we are all ragging drunkerds and skip class to get sloshed. So, one teacher thought it would be cute to accuse me in class that I was a lier and that I went to drink the class before that I had missed. Yea, going to see my dad in the hospital is drinking.

Echo-chan713 01-30-2012 01:32 AM

To me in this day in age (ESPECIALLY AMERICA) people can take offense to ANYTHING such as a case in Utah where the mascot is a cougar but people were fuming because they were taking offense to the cougars of older women going after younger men.

P.S. the cougar is a feline and that's the statue they made.

Tiva 02-02-2012 03:26 PM

Apparently Fat Tuesday upsets people...

hyjin 02-02-2012 03:35 PM

... well that is really stupid if it does...

☪ஐﻬ☽ I only got offended once.
When someone called polish people 'pollack'. Not sure of the
spelling. It means stupid polish person. I got so pissed
hearing that in class in high school I yelled at my teacher
for forcing us to watch a racist comedian in a writing class.

I also now find cracker extremely offensive. Any white person
should actually. The word originally comes from the sound of
the whip used on the slaves way back when. So black people
started to call the whites cracker because of it. I always
thought it was stupid to call me a cracker because it was a
food. But now.... I will get sick to hear that word. My husband
was bored one night and watched some documentries and this was
on one of them. I couldn't believe it when he told me where the
word actually comes from.

If I offended anyone by what I said I didn't mean it.

I don't remember when I was offended by a saying

Kali_Namir 02-07-2012 09:06 PM

And adding yet another word!

Pocket 02-08-2012 12:56 AM

Its not really something that offends me...its more like ticks me off when people use the phrase "I know how you feel."

I hate that! I just want to look at them and say "when the crap did you ever jump into my head to be able to feel what I feel!?"

You can tell me that you can relate to how I'm feeling.. depending on the situation but don't tell me "I know how you feel."

Grrrrrrr...lol.

What about the term "I've been through it before" My mom says that to me and I'm like "B**** you don't know what I've been through, this is the 21st century, things are different and don't say that you've been through it before"

Pocket 02-08-2012 10:58 AM

Echo~ Agreed. Its so different now.. Anyone from like our parents generation has zero clue how different it is now.... I mean look at the news with the number of bullying and the suicides of young kids! Did they have that happen!? If it did they never said anything about it...ya know.

Asami 02-08-2012 03:00 PM

Honestly I feel that people look for ways to get offended. It's just how humans are. We like drama no matter how much someone says they hate it its not true. We strive to create as much drama as we can just because it keeps life interesting.

Especially at the time, High School and College

@Asami: Without drama, life will be boring
