My work uses Internet explorer and it's slow and it sucks even when there's the modem right behind us it still has a hard time getting to the search engines like amazon and to our emails

I use Chrome for the speed. It is also really great for web development stuff. It is a lot easier the the other browsers thats for sure.

Chrome, then Firefox. I find Chrome alot easier to use, and Firefox I use at school.

I use Chrome on my home computer and at school, since my school just decided to put chrome on our computers for web design. If I have to, I use firefox.

Normaly I only have a problem with chrome when coming out of sleep mode. : )

I use Chrome...it's my favorite browser after using IE,Netscape navigator, Firefox and Opera. I have yet to try this Safari web browser.

Anyways, if I could compare these web browsers to cellphone brands, it would be this:

IE - Nokia :: A lot of people use it, mostly the older ones. Keeps upgrading but basically stays the same. User friendly because a lot of people know it and it's been there ever since.

Firefox - Sony Ericsson :: Better, faster, more reliable than the former. Whenever it upgrades, it gets different and more complex, but still understandable. Young adults love this because it's not old-school, not so new, perfect for their taste.

Opera - BlackBerry :: A lot of features, is very business-like. Teens try to use this but can never utilize it and gets bored by it easily because it's too detailed. Works best for workaholics and their documents can be kept safe here. Security is very high as well.

Chrome - iPhone4s :: Simple, sleek, easy to understand, fast process, and not boring. Teens like this so much because it's "new" and it's "in". Everyone likes this. The oldies don't know how to use this though.

I've been trying to use chrome for the longest time now, and yet no matter how many times I reinstall it, I always run into the page where it says, "Aw, snap!"

I'm assuming chrome has upgraded to the point that xp users can no longer use it?

For the most part I use Chrome and internet explorer :) Chrome is faster!

I use firefox. It's my favorite that I've tried so far. I did try Chrome once, but...it just wasn't the same.
Guess I'm just too dedicated.

Mmm... Well, it's never easy to change browsers if you're just too used to one over another. Sticking to what you prefer would be best. :]

I think I would be considered an older user since I've had the internet since there was dial up in this area. And I HATE IE XD

Security hazard piece of crap. It may be better now for all I know, but I hate it. I like Chrome because it crashes less than firefox was doing.

I also like Maxthon, but I haven't used that in forever.

I've only used the Opera browser on my wii.

So we shouldn't call you while you are on the computer?

Firefox, has a much better selection of extensions and more much customizable. Google Chrome is nice, but I like customizing and tuning my browser to my liking which is the only reason Firefox works for me.

Never tried chrome before, I find that Firefox is good enough for me

I hop between Chrome and Firefox, depending on my gaming mood. And for most applications if I am putting them online or doing class work, I am sadly Forced to use IE because they have to make it useable for ALL students :/ Which SUCKS, and I deal with it.

I also am a netflix addict, so I have to have fast internet or the shows just.. fail. A lot. xD

I have always favored Google Chrome im not sure why, it just feels right if that makes sense.

Firefox is superior to Chrome, given that it also takes up more memory.

I have chrome now. I usually have IE9 and one other, which used to be Firefox but I'm finding that Chrome handles some thing better, and I like the interface.

Technologically speaking, that statement is simply wrong. Firefox has been playing catch-up to Chrome for quite a while now -- a couple years, I think. Chrome is faster and more standards-compliant.

Firefox's only advantages are that it has a much larger selection of user-provided extensions, and that BECAUSE it was the best browser for a very long time a lot of websites ended up coding around making Firefox behave even if it meant the site wouldn't work in Chrome/Safari. (Much like sites do that for IE.)

These are relevant advantages, for certain, but you can't say Firefox is unilaterally superior to Chrome, because it's not.

Adding on to this, Chrome's starting to get a lot more user-created extensions. :3

BAH! I only use a handful of things, and when they don't work properly on Chrome, is when I say Firefox is superior to chrome. Otherwise, I would agree.

By the same logic, for me, Chrome is superior to Firefox. ;).

There is one exception though, and that is Chrome will not run my Uni's online course program, but then Firefox didn't like it much either, so I always have IE around as a backup for when Chrome fails me, which is getting less and less. Chrome definitely likes Trisphee more than Firefox did in my experience. It appears to be better with graphics and loads youtube videos better than IE9. Again, my experiences.

Um, does anyone get little messages asking if they want to wait for unresponsive pages or kill them? Is this some Chrome thing I'm not aware of or is something sneaking onto my computer?

Yeah, I've gotten that before. I've never used it, just kept waiting out the unresponsiveness. :3

Chrome and Safari both have it. (Safari's seems buggy, though; its only choices are "kill everything" or "wait" -- you can't stop the one unresponsive page.)

That is a downside to safari, but I still enjoy it mainly for it's ease of use....especially integrating the search bar and the address bar together (granted, Chrome was the first to do this).

I actually DISlike that feature, but what are ya gonna do. *shrug* I know I'm in the minority there, but all of the major browsers do it now.

Too bad you can't specifically modify your browsers to remove the feature, Coda. :P

You can in Firefox. I'm not sure about Safari. I don't think so on Chrome.

Chrome I know you can't, and same for Safari unless you have an older version and refuse to upgrade. That is only for Mac users though, since Apple discontinued updates for the Windows version of its browser.

Well, guess I can't do anything about it since I mainly use Chrome with a bit of Safari every now and then. >w> Not that I even know how to work with coding and stuff anyways. XD
