non-romance is fine. I am not a huge fan of final fantasy, sorry... but sci-fi and/or fantasy or a uncanny mix there of? what kind of sci-fi are you thinking of?

Recent sci-fi exposure for me is the Falcon Banner series. Basically a police officer is accused of killing a high ranking military officer. Whom is Amsus (a race that defeated mankind and now made them the lowest caste in their hegemony). That officer is on the run from Amsus Law and even from lawless men who want him dead. Accidentally while trying to survive he revives hope for the old Empire and then decides to revive it. 3-4 years since the first book have gone by and the Empire is crumbling internally, just barely afloat. He's a warlord (bascially commander over all military) and Highlord (kinda like...a team within the political spehre but not a political party). The tech is pretty futurey and gets "better" as the book goes. Because it's war it's more of adapting forgotten knowledge or the technology of other races in an ad-hoc manner to try and win the war before the empire completely splinters. Really fun to read with lots of character development, things going on, and epic space battles.

that sounds awfully neat.... i like that idea. I shall have to look it up. would you want an rp more war-based or adventure based? and do you want tech to feature heavily in it.

It's a fun read but as you go further into the book, or rather into the next books you find more grammar errors and once during the 3rd book I found a name inconsistency. I think this was the pre-script. Oh well I don't have to pay for the book... >.>

hmm it might be interesting to play an orphan of war or scavenger being caught red handed. War-based then. :)
I don't know how tech heavy it can be. So long as it's all relevant to keep the story going forward I don't care.

i mean tech heavy as in is tech moving the story forward or something else. like a steampunk rp based on a group of people trying to bring back steam power or something. since this is war-based it should be driven forward by the war, and tech will be relevant but not the focus.
also reading it righ tnow
