Lebanen could hear the shuffling of feet coming from the forest. Every new sound helped him zero in on the general location of the source. It seemed odd, who or what had to know that their presents was known to him regardless if he couldn't see them.
Lebanen removed his hand from the handle of his sword and as he did three short spear arose from the ground beside him. He grasped the closest spear and pulled it free from the earth ready to throw it. |
Mairi frowned as she watched this action and tilted her head slightly to sight along her arrow a little bit better. "Hmm.... Wait a minute, where did those spears just come from?" Eyes wide as she watched the action, words a bare whisper as she tried to comprehend what was going on now. "Today just gets weirder and weirder." Sighing as she waited for some instruction from Lucien out of concern that he might have seen something like this before and know how to handle it a little bit better.
Although for Mairi to be honest, she hated the waiting on her brother and wanted to take a different angel on this encounter to show she could handle herself. Slacking the tension on her bow, she aimed it at the ground and slowly steped thrrough a gap in the trees. "No harm meant.... You just surprised me as I get few people in this forest." All she could hope was that the man would believe she wouldn't try to put an arrow through him now. |
Lebanen tilted his head slightly under his hood. "A diversion? Maybe..? No... Sincere... Hm." he said out loud as he examined the girl before him. "No, she isn't the one. Her figure is wrong. Two figures were seen, but now there are three." he tightened his grip on the spear in his hand. "The bow... Perhaps drawn after? No... Before. Waiting perhaps? Ambush from the village?"

Lucien gripped the handle of his sword and walked out cautiously staring hard at the man with a cold expression. "What are you doing here, its not very often someone just wonders through these woods." He then glances and Mairi and glares. She knew better than to just charge in like that what was she thinking.
"I am not here to fight, but unless you put down your weapon I will be forced to draw mine." Lucien slid the sword out a crack exposing bits of the blade. He was ready for anything, Or so he thought he kept a strong eye on that man motionless waiting for his next response |
Mairi frowned as she caught the look from Lucien and gave a bare shake of her head. "Don't jump the gun brother....He only drew his weapon because we drew ours on him." She mumbled and turned her attention back to him and assessed the scene closely and slowly unnotched her arrow to put it back in the quiver. "He's unique like yourself Lucien so chill out. What has brought you to this forest?" She asked and smiled innocently at him.

Lebanen lowered the spear in his hand. "What am I doing here? Hm... Ah I was walking. No... That's how I got here. Got lost along the way", he nodded slightly and then suddenly the three spears started to decay and fall to the ground. "But is it important why I'm here? Or is it simply a function of your own curiosity?"

Her eyes widened as the spears just disappeared as easily as they had appeared in the beginning. "Oh my gosh..." Squeaking as she moved quickly and walked a slow circle around the man to try and understand where they had gone. "Wow that was cool... How did you do that? Was that a special ability? A blessing from the gods like some of the others have? Can you do that with anything besides the earth? Maybe rock or metal? The mositure from the air?" Mairi's questions rambled out easily as she showed her curiousity that would easily get her killed.

"It has to be a solid material in order to make something solid in return." Lebanen nodded as he watch the girl walk around him. "The better the quality of the material the longer it lasts." He bent down and plucked a single piece of grass and held it out in the palm of his hand so the girl could see. "Watch", he said as the piece of grass slowly reformed and took on the appearance of a gold ring.

What...is that alchemy?! Cu stared down at the group of people some thirty feet below him. He had never been in contact with too many mages, and alchemy was rare even among them...
He mentally told himself to shut his gaping mouth, and half-consciously pulled the tip of his cowl down lower over his face. It wasn't as if that would matter; the angle was such that anyone in the group could see his face anyways. But then again, he was simply passing through. He had heard rumors that someone up north was paying a generous sum for the head of his rival, and Cu had immediately been interested. The soft flapping of wings behind him caught his attention. A crow alighted on a nearby branch, and Cu lifted a finger to his lips as if telling the bird to hush. But I have to be careful...I can smell a dragon nearby. He squinted, trying to catch sight of the beast, but to no avail. |
After finishing the fruit, Noelle decided maybe it would be best to join up with Lucien and Mairi, she wasn't use to this part of the country anyway. Picking the bag and slinging it on her back before taking the scythe out of it's case. She wasn't going to go not prepared.
Heading in the direction where she was sure Lucien and Mairi were, she stopped to see another man there with them, looked like they had ambushed him. Yet something about the man made Noelle hesitate to go any further, something wasn't right. How would this man be alive when.. Noelle couldn't get any sense of a soul residing in Lebanen's body which was impossible.. by all accounts, this man should be dead... |

it wasn't uncommon for him to get lost in his travels, he certainly never had a set path, but rarely did he ever stumble across campers...or from the sound of them, gangs. he made sure to steer a wide berth around the group to continue looking for the fairy music he had heard about when he first stepped into the woods a few days prior |
Lucien lightened the grip on his sword nodding his head and looking at the new man. The sword slid down and smacked against the scabbard he then placed his hand to his side. "I am Lucien commander of a troop im a small village to the north, We were expecting a small retaliation force to walk through this forest and attack. This is why that girl Mairi" He said pointing to the girl circling him " and I are here to spot for scouts."
Lucien bowed his head in silence as if to be offering his apologies. "I am sorry if I seemed rash, You see I was above in the.." He paused for a moment he did not want to reveal Regina by telling the man he was in the skies. "I was above in the trees when i noticed her hiding and thought perhaps that you were pursuing her." Lucien noticed that he had began rambling like Mairi was he placed the palm of his hand against his head and shook his head in disappointment. "My apologies, all this time and I haven't let you get a word in edge wise. May i ask your name sir?" Lucien smiled and extended his hand to offer a hand shake. |
His travels had taken him some what after then the mystic orient then he expected. He did not care so much about the distination as long as the journey was fun. Idly his fingers strummed over the large instrument he held. It was rather a strange feat, to be able to carry such a large sitar and play it while walking considering it was mostly a stationary instrument. Each time his body swayed, something made music to accompany the tune produced by his fingers. Arching his head towards the heavens he drew in a deep breath. The world smelled of rain and blood in this area.
Niaz had taken care since entering the forest to avoid the usual pathways traversed by people. Many times he had to pause his music at the mere sight of a large over head shadow. Some times it was a bird, other times it was a beast much larger and sounded more deadly. There was also the rumor of a secret army hiding and gathering, though the reasons for that were unclear. Many informed him of a man full of malice behind the army, with red bolts that could kill a man if struck. Again his gingling feet switched directions, this time in the path of what sounded like running water. He was relieved once he found it, licking his chops, Niaz abandoned his instrument near a tree, as he held back the veil of black hair that shrouded his body. He dipped his head in first before gulping down the fresh cool water from the spring. |
as always he picked up the soft strain of music when he was not expecting it though also like always it stopped before he could find it although it was closer now than it had ever been and following the memory of the sound he quickly moved through the woods until he could hear running water. he slowed down though he did not halt and carefully approached in case there were people around like the gang from before

Satisified, he stripped of his sash that kept his top held closed. Silently he tied it to a stick and dipped the stick into a mud bank until it was sturdy enough to stand on its own. The other side he put a heavy rock on it and watched as the water pooled, the flitered through the clothes fibers trapping most of the solid debris that came through. He grinned at his genius, expecting a good catch for dinner. He glanced around at the wild vegetation, surely there must be other gems to eat with his meal. He plucked his instrument up again and strolled in a little circumfrance around his netting to see if there were any wild fruits
The gods seemed to smile on him in a bounty of strawberries and pomegranates. He plucked the fruit careful not to over take, and cradled it in his shirt while firmly grasping on to the neck of his sitar. Niaz grinned broadly feasting on the strawberries with one hand and the other struck cords along instrument testing the pitches of the strings. |
he cleared the edge of the forest and cast his eyes over a half-naked stranger just as the beautifully enchanting song took up again. he could not help but be drawn to it and got as close as he could without being noticed by the strange man. quietly he crouched down to listen

Lebanen turned his head towards Lucien. "I am Lebanen. A humble wanderer and craftsmen of fine items and artifacts." He smiled under his hood and presented Mairi the golden ring he had just crafted. "

Strange.. Noelle could able to sense another person around, she was not going to make her presence known to the others, they seemed able to handle things.
Concentrating on the soul of the new person, interesting.. seemed the person favored.. trees? Frowning, Noelle glanced up into the branches of the tree where her senses told her the soul was located at but she couldn't see anything. Keeping the scythe as a position that she could use it to block an attack, since there was no way to tell from this person's soul if they were an ally or an enemy.. "Is someone up there? It's best you just come down and show yourself. I know your there and I don't feel like climbing this tree to drag you down but if I have to, I will." Oh yea.. threaten the unknown person.. smart thinking, Noelle. she chided herself, your just asking for your ass to be kicked. |
A sound caught her attention and Mairi turned slowly tightening the grip on her bow as she spun slowly being absolutely silent. Usually quiet from her would mean trouble for someone else in the end. Brushing the bothersome hair back from her ears, she tied it with a string to keep it from obstructing her hearing. "Hmm...." Moving a couple steps away from her previous distraction, she glanced up into the trees and tried to see what it was that had caught her attention.
Eyes flicked across the branches and she raised the bow slowly. "Come down and introduce yourself properly or I can shoot you down." The kindness had disappeared for a moment and her eyes held a deadly intent to notch and release an arrow flying into the trees. "I heard the flutter of the wings so I know you're there....." At this moment her attention was focused on this person and she'd heard another voice in the distance, that girl they had been with earlier. What was that girls name? Noelle? Even the shine from the newly made golden ring wasn't distracting her. |
Cu turned around slowly on his treetop perch, the crow's eyes glimmering at his back. Well, the girl must have sharp senses...but the one behind me...How did she even know? Either way, the small one's too close to everyone else...
The crow flew away in surprise as Cu threw his arm out, hurling three daggers at the scythe-wielding woman, then leapt into the air, the cloak flapping behind him like the wings of bird. He managed to grab ahold of a young tree behind her while unsheathing his blade, and swung himself around to kneel on the ground with the spear fully extended, pointing at the small of her back. |
"well its nice to meet your acquaintance lebanen" Lucien looked down at his hand, He felt rejected but that was alright maybe the man didn't shake hands. Lucien looked back at Mairi as she wondered off and sighed.. "I swear your attention span is worse than that of a Squirrel's"
Lucien swung his arms towards Mairi's direction and looked happily at the wanderer. "Shall we take a stroll, Maybe i could help you find your way to the location you desire to reach?" He let off a fake smile, he hoped that it looked legit he was bad at emotions even showing them at times. It was then Lucien noticed a crow fly past there area as the sound of rustling limbs and leaves filled the air from the Daggers flying through the thick Foliage. "Well that's a peculiar noise, What in the world was that." Lucien said with a frown this just really wasn't his day more visitors to have to take care of, But he really could not risk the chance of an ambush at this point, With a sarcastic and lazy voice Lucien folded his arms behind his head and said "Well, i guess i better go find out who or what that was.." |
Hearing Mairi also addressing the stranger from where she was, surprised Noelle. Does she have special senses as well? I only sensed cause of the soul..
Bringing up the blade of the scythe, Noelle manages to deflect the three daggers the stranger in the tree had thrown at her, sensing the soul above had taken to the air, What the.. and landing.. behind me? Before Noelle could turn and confront the stranger, she felt the point of a blade at her back, this is not good.. if I even try to make a move, I would leave myself open for him/her to attack before I could even be able to defend myself.. Thinking over her options, maybe this person viewed her as much as threat to them as she did to herself, before addressing the person, not making a move to make them feel any more threatened. "Hey, lower your sword and let's talk. I have no intentions on fighting you, I just want to know who you are and why you are spying on us." |
Turning sharply on her heel she glared at her brother then slowly it turned into a strange look. "But brother.... I'm not like a squirrel... I heard something and then the bird wings." Frowning as she tried to stay cheery, but it seemed it wasn't going to work. "Hmph.... You're just... Ugh!" Throwing her arms up, she hurried off without warning. "I give up."
Anger wasn't something she normally ended up feeling, and this was a strange reaction for her, but Mairi couldn't explain it either. Hurrying off in a random direction she stopped to look around and couldn't figure out where she should go. "Hmm.... He always thinks that I'm getting distracted, but I'm not." Mumbling to herself as she tried to make her side the winner in the internal argument. Sure she would forget things here and there, or stare at shiny things for a long period, but she had heard something moving above them. Kicking a small stone, she headed deeper into the forest and walked along the densly wooded side of the river bank. Today had definitely turned out weird with two or three new people showing up in the forest suddenly. Sighing she watched the water, but stopped when she saw something strange. "Huh.... Why would someone do this?" Mumbling as she rolled her pant legs up carefully and walked out into the shallow water to look at the fabric on the sticks. |
Cu stood up and glared exasperatedly at the lady from under his hood, ears flattening in a mix of amusement and annoyance. Talk? Ah. Hahaha.
He let the spear retract, leaving just the blade, which he hefted in the right hand, then shrugged. If I see something interesting, doesn't she think I'd naturally stop and watch? ...Although I didn't plan on being seen. Keeping an eye on her, he gingerly fished through his pockets and pulled out a very tattered and folded WANTED poster, then gestured in the general direction in which he was headed. |
Feeling the point no longer against her back, Noelle turns to face the stranger, letting the handle of the scythe relax in her hand. A frown appeared on her face when he pulled out the tattered and folded piece of paper and begin gesturing.
"You can't talk, can you?" she asks quietly, realization hitting her before holding her hand out, "Could I see that, please? I'll promise to be very careful with it and return it back once I'm done with it." |
Lucien let out a huge sigh while frowning and nodding his head as he saw Mairi show up. She sometimes took things a bit to serious but there was no reasoning with her when she was mad so he decided to let her run off and cool down. She wouldn't leave for to long, she always tended to find her way back to Lucien. Through some odd or strange way who knows.
Lucien stumbled upon the area of Noelle seeing a man standing behind her with a weapon wearing a hood. Lucien glared at the man with his cold red eyes gritting his teeth and quickly unsheathing his blade as he did so lightning sparked around it twisting and turning into what looked like a small serpent around his blade. "Back away from the women slowly and maybe ill decide to spare you." The Voice he let out was cold and emotionless Lucien was not playing around, he saw this man as an instant threat. Lucien slid his right foot forward with this sword pointed at the stranger. |
Before Cu could step over to pass the flyer over the the woman, he was confronted by a man in all black. A friend of hers? The newcomer didn't look to be one who would listen. In any case, Cu kept an eye on the three prone throwing knives a good distance away, and took a step back. How much time would he have to react if the man lunged? But then again, there was magic in the formula, and his inability to resist any magic would narrow his choices down to just dodging.

Noelle sighs, seeing Lucien appear and rests a hand on his shoulder, "Lucien, he's not a threat. Put your sword away and let's act reasonable." she turns her attention back to the stranger, "Maybe it would be easier if we introduced ourselves." she holds out her hand again in a friendly greeting, "I'm Noelle and this big idiot here is Lucien."

Lucien glares at Noelle for insisting that he was an idiot. Lucien's eyes fixated on Noelle got quickly cold and emotionless again "Remind me not to worry if your ever being attacked again." Lucien let of a small "Hmph" as he sheathed the lighting engulfed blade, It sparked and crackled as the lightning met the scabbard and dissipated.
His eyes then re averted to the new stranger he smiled and rubbed the back of his head. "Well as you heard from her I am Lucien, Sorry about that i just thought you were a attacker." Lucien was tired of running around at this point, He seemed to think that it would be a good idea to sit down on the forest ground to continue this conversation. |
Cu glanced at "Lucien", the awkward shuffled around him, giving him a wide berth, and circled around the woman, handing her the WANTED poster. Erm. ...Uh. He hid his red face by stooping down quickly to pick up the knives scattered around on the ground, then sheathing his blade. It had been a while since he's last seen a woman up...this...close.

Noelle sends a glare at Lucien, "Excuse me, I wasn't needing saving you know. I think I can fight my own battles." she looks down at the paper the stranger had placed in her hand and daintily, not wanting to tear the already fragile paper, unfolds it. He must be a mercenary or something. She noted to herself, reading the paper before folding it back and waiting for the stranger to finish picking up his knives to hand the paper back.

Lucien watched the strange man shuffle around it was slightly awkward to watch. "So you can't speak, Is there anyway you can tell us your name?" Lucien said slightly tilting his head glancing at the man. He then snarled at Noelle's response "Well excuse me for trying to be polite and help."
At this point Lucien was what he thought to be upset he stormed off into the woods and climbed up into a tree looking upon the forest admiring its beauty while grumbling. "Foolish women, try to help keep her self and don't even get small amount of gratitude.." |
Finally leaving her home Kanon yawned as she streched out across the ground it was not good she was always in doors besidess she needed to see it a little more prancing about it was rather nice day to do so. Removing her swords placing them into the pouch she had gotten from the Goddess she had seen many moons ago swallowed her swords it was just magic to her but so much fun to hide things with in the small pouch. Placing it around her neck she changed into a fox started to run about in the woods.
"Sou, its such a pretty day~" was a thought that ran across her mind wondering further into the woods. Once she had gotten ways in, the white looking fox started to walk looking around admiring the area. While walking on, something caught the young fox's ear it was someone talking. Making her way over to the person she looked around trying to find them. "Hello? Any one around?" calling out. |
Lucien's Aggravated mumbling was stopped by a voice calling out in the forest. It didn't sound to hostile, But on the other hand he could not be to cautious.This just isn't my day, so many people in this damn forest. he placed his hand along the hilt of his blade and yelled out "Yes, up here in the trees"
Lucien stood up and took a big leap out of the the tree placing his foot along side the adjacent tree and sliding down the trunk of it untill he reached the forest floor. Strangely he did not see any human beings around just a fox standing infront of him.. "Umm, hello where are you? " he said with worry in his voice..Am I losing my mind I swear I just heard a voice... |
"Ahhh person from a tree!" Kanon yelled then ran behind a rock, being an indoor person who never went out, she never really saw other people or even knew they where in the woods it was just well a thing that the girl would never really see all the way out here. "I-I was the one who called out, I heard you muttering so I thought I would come and see who was here that is all." the fox explained little white ears poked out from behind the rock. "Your not going to eat me are you?" she asked him
"Cause. . . I don't taste so good. I'm all tough and hard to chew on." slowly peeking out from behind the rock to get a better look at the person who came out of the tree. |
Noelle rolls her eyes, watching Lucien storm off, Geez, if this is how he's going to act every time someone jokes with him, maybe it's better off we're not in a relationship.. Yet, even thinking those thoughts, she felt tears escaping her eyes and turning away from the stranger so he can't see how upset she is, she allows the tears to fall down her cheeks, Why is it so hard to tell someone you love them?

Lucien froze and jumped back in shock staring now at the rock that the fox had hid behind.Did..Did that fox just frickin talk..? I must be going insane I just have to be.. Although today Lucien had seen some pretty strange things himself maybe he wasn't insane.. He decided to answer back to the fox. "No no, i won't eat you im not mean or anything you just sort of.. umm.. your a fox.. and foxes aren't supposed to talk..."
Lucien walked slowly and calmly towards the rock and sat down in front of it. He didn't wanna spook the poor thing anymore than it already was. "Look see ill stay right here and sit down i won't even move a muscle. If you decide you think i'm going to eat you, Well you can run off. If not maybe you can explain to me how you can talk." |
Watching the other walk closer to her hiding place then sit making sure nothing was going to happen, the girl poked her head out from behind the rock bright blue eyes blinking some walking out a little sitting by the rock. "Yeah I am a fox, but I can talk, but that's cause I'm not really a fox at all. I am just gifted with a power to be able to change that is all." Then stood up on hinge legs walked about a little. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, your the first person I have have ever met really." then bowed to Lucien taking a seat again.

Lucien looked at the small fox amazed and still a bit confused. "I was more shocked than scared, You see as i am the first person you have seen your the first talking animal i have seen." Lucien laughed at the small amount of irony in the situation. "So you shape shift huh, So i guess that means your actually a human?"
At that moment he had once again realized he had yet to introduce him self and placed his palm against his forehead and shook his head in disappoint me. "Im sorry, I forgot to tell you my name.. I am Lucien and you are?" Lucien went to extend his hand out only to realize and remember she was still a fox.. It seem rather awkward to try and shake hands with a fox. |
"Yes, that is right, first person I have seen since I have lived here in the woods. Though I don't think that is good thing, Also I never really talk to people it just sounded like you where kinda mad so I thought I would see if you are okay." nodding some blinked a little. "Yes I am but when I travel for my own safety I change into a animal." as she nodded some.
"Oh what a nice name. I'm Kanon, it is nice to met you Lucien." tilting her head to the side some closing her eyes happy to meet him. Once he extend his hand to have a hand shake, she reached out with her paw to shake hands back with him. |
