i dunno man its all pretty cool

Night Swan 02-14-2013 02:35 PM

1) David Tennant ( he was good in the Harry Potter movies.
2) The Silence. Any thing that can control your life and you never remember it freaks me out.
3) Amy Pond and Dr. River Song
4) "A Christmas Carol" (Sir Michael John Gambon who played Albus Dumbledore from Harry Potter movies) I love the singing voice of Katherine Jenkins.

1. Who is your favorite Doctor?
David Tennant. I jumped into Doctor Who having no clue what it was two episodes before Silence in the Library.
2. Who is your favorite creature?
Silurians, they tried to save the dinosaurs! Who couldn't love that?
3. Who is your favorite companion?
Sarah Jane.
4. What is your favorite episode?
Strangely enough, I started watching classic episodes not too long ago, and the first one (Unearthly Child) was my favorite. It put so many things into place.

katyasha 06-08-2014 02:18 PM

I finally got to see the 50th anniversary one and the goodby to the 11th doctor hello 12th

Lawtan 06-11-2014 10:04 PM

1. Who is your favorite Doctor?

Tom Baker

2. Who is your favorite creature?

The Great Old Ones (All hail the Great Intelligence!)

3. Who is your favorite companion?

K-9

4. What is your favorite episode?

Genesis of the Daleks

Sookei 06-13-2014 01:51 AM

Oh this will be fun! :D
1. I'd have to say it's a three way tie between Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, and Tom Baker. I just really enjoyed their doctors.
2. I like weeping angels, they creep the heck out of me, but they're so fascinating. But I also have a soft spot for Oods.
3. Romana.
4. Hmm, that's a real tough question, I can't say I have a favorite episode that would be too hard for me to pick.

Den 06-14-2014 02:59 AM

1. Tie between Matt Smith and John Hurt.
2. Weeping Angels.
3. Madame Vastra, Jenny, and Strax. (Can't have one without the others!)
4. 2013's Christmas Episode. It gave me so many feels!

Aenith 07-05-2014 01:13 PM

*waves* Hello, fellow Whovians!

1. Who is your favorite Doctor?
Eccleston. He was so catty, I loved it. And there was a lot more good, old fashioned, raw, British humor in his season. I wish he would have stayed longer.
2. Who is your favorite creature?
Adipose. :) They're adorable. I want a giant stuffed one. Maybe I'll make one.
3. Who is your favorite companion?
Donna
4. What is your favorite episode?
The Empty Child...Cried so hard.

Witchchylde 10-25-2014 06:52 PM

1. Who is your favorite Doctor?

Tom Baker!!!

2. Who is your favorite creature?

Hm... I think I'll go Adipose, I'd even volunteer for the program!

3. Who is your favorite companion?

2nd Romana -- also apparently Tom Baker's favorite, since he married the actress, Lela Ward!

4. What is your favorite episode?

Actually... The Doctor's Wife.

trystan830 10-29-2014 09:30 PM

1. Who is your favorite Doctor? 4 - Tom Baker. keep in mind i watched 4, 5, and 3 in that order in the 80s; now i've been watching 1 and 2 since july... almost done with Troughton.

2. Who is your favorite creature? of those i have "met," the Daleks.

3. Who is your favorite companion? K9. #2 is Jamie.

4. What is your favorite episode? the one with the Doctor in it...

SolarCat 11-05-2014 03:08 PM

1. Who is your favorite Doctor?
Tom Baker, of course!
Although I liked a great many of them.

2. Who is your favorite creature?
Sutek - as far as creature characters. He's creepy awesome, and so cool and collected even when things go wrong. NOT the sort of opponent you want to meet.

I'll admit, I'm also a fan of the Ood.

3. Who is your favorite companion?
Can I pick more than one?
K-9, Sarah Jane Smith, Donna Noble

Special mention goes to Donna's grandfather and Rory's Dad, because they're just way too cool. :)

4. What is your favorite episode?
From the older section of the series, The Pyramids of Mars. See question #2 - Sutek is awesome.
From the newer portion of the series, Blink - although part of this is highly sentimental, as this is the episode I showed my Sweetheart, and it got him back into Doctor Who. <3 (He was afraid he wouldn't like what they did with the new version, since he loved the old version).

trystan830 11-05-2014 03:15 PM

hey there SolarCat! =) fancy meeting you here too. =)

Karastorm 12-03-2014 01:18 PM

1. Who is your favorite Doctor?: Do I have to choose? Either way it's the fourth doctor ( Tom Baker) I grew up watching his sillyness.

2. Who is your favorite creature?

ERm that's a hard one. There's so many awsome creatures but I'm going to go for the orriginal Davros.

3. Who is your favorite companion?

Probbleys Sarah Jane Smith. May she Rest in peace.

4. What is your favorite episode?

You know I don't really have ne that I like better then all the rest. They've all been pretty good ( some worse then others but heck it happens).

1. Who is your favorite Doctor?
2. Who is your favorite creature?
3. Who is your favorite companion?
4. What is your favorite episode?

1. Tom Baker - my first and will always be my favorite - although I like Slyvester McCoy, Jon Pertwee, David Tennant and Peter Capaldi too.

2. Love those cute little Adipose creatures.

3. This is a tough one. There are so many good ones. I like Ace for her spunkiness and Donna for the same reason too.

4. Blink is by far the absolute scariest episode I've ever seen and I've seen all of the ones shown in the US.

OK - I've got a question for the rest of you.

What do you think about Peter Capaldi's interpretation of the Doctor?

For me, he started out to be the most alien of all of the doctors. In some respects he reminds me of the first doctor with his gruffness, but then every once in awhile I see some softness come through.

trystan830 01-22-2015 02:22 PM

hey there Zen!

i shall have to come back to your question when i get up to Capaldi - i haven't seen any of the new!Who, and since i want to (have Eccleson's season on DVD from a friend of mind), i figured i'd start back at the beginning.

so.

i *have* heard that people didn't like Capaldi as the Doctor because after Doctors like Tennant and Smith, Capaldi was more like a throw-back to the classic Doctors. however, i don't know that for certain, since i'm only up to Baker, half-way through the Key to Time series. i hope by the time i'm all caught up, Capaldi is still the Doctor, too! =)

ZenKitty 01-22-2015 03:28 PM

You can go on Who Marathons, Trys. Spend a weekend doing nothing but watching Doctor Who. :P

I do hope Capaldi sticks around for awhile. I'm enjoying him.

trystan830 01-22-2015 03:50 PM

i could do that... but the girls like watching the classic episodes with me... so if i can get them on DVD from the libraries, i like to do that.

also, i work most saturday mornings and sunday afternoon/evenings, so.... yeah.

ZenKitty 01-22-2015 05:00 PM

Work sure can get in the way of fun at times. :P

I'm glad I don't work on the weekends. Hubby has to this weekend, so it will be hard seeing him working 7 days a week.

trystan830 01-22-2015 05:53 PM

yeah, i know what you mean. most weeks i work 7 days between the two jobs. this week wasn't, and next week won't be either, but those are anomalies. tbh, i'd rather have work interrupt my Dr Who watching, actually. ;)

ZenKitty 01-22-2015 06:05 PM

At least work gives you cash. Much better than laundry, washing floors, doing dishes, etc, etc, etc. :P

Of course, I've been known to have Doctor Who in the background as I do all of that stuff, so at least I can listen while I work. ;-)

trystan830 01-22-2015 06:08 PM

hmm, good point.

i like to watch it as i listen, too. =)

Code 04-19-2015 12:44 AM

1. Who is your favorite Doctor? I really like all of them; I don't know if I have a favorite, but I consider Nine "my Doctor" because I started with him. Also have a soft spot for Eight.
2. Who is your favorite creature? Cybermen! I think they've become a little overused and aren't as scary as they used to be.
3. Who is your favorite companion? Marthaaaaaa, I love her a lot.
4. What is your favorite episode? Vincent and the Doctor, I think. Gets me pretty worked up.

I only kinda skimmed through this thread since I'm not caught up and I'm afraid of spoilers. I've been wanting to start watching NuWho from the start and then get caught up. I haven't watched any Classic episodes, but I've been trying to get my hands on some of Eight's Big Finish stories.

trystan830 04-19-2015 12:49 AM

so, catching every one up with my watching of Dr Who - i finished classic!Who on March 31st, watched the Eighth Doctor's movie on April first, and tomorrow, i'll be watching Tennant's final two-parter special!!

trystan830 05-05-2015 01:03 PM

me again... last night i watched Last Christmas! i started with new!Who and "Rose" on april 2nd, and it took until may 4th to watch all of new!Who!

... is it "fall" yet?

Lawtan 05-05-2015 10:37 PM

...
O.O
I can't even find/buy the entire classic Dr. Who...
Went through a good bit of Four, some of Two, one of Three, and all of One via a person doing commentary on the entire episode...

So...thoughts on them, Trystan?

trystan830 05-05-2015 10:44 PM

my library had a lot of the classic episodes, but most of them i watched on dailymotion.com

i enjoyed them all - all different incarnations of the Doctor. Four will always be my favorite, with everyone else but Six in the #2 spot - Colin Baker was much more fun as a Gallefreyan guard in one of Five's episodes. so Mr-Ego-bigger-than-the-size-of-the-inside-of-the-Tardis is #3 on my list. LOL.

Lawtan 05-06-2015 08:54 AM

I'll admit I am not a major fan of Five and Six character-wise (though Five definitely had several interesting plots)
Four is always iconic as eccentric, with a mix of child and adult interests...yet always the smart and mature absent-minded fellow...

trystan830 05-06-2015 11:21 AM

i will always love Four.

my second fave doctor is: Two, Five, Nine. And Eleven, Ten, Twelve and Seven. And One, Three, Eight and War.

so that makes my third fave Six.

heh.

Karastorm 05-06-2015 12:18 PM

The War doctor is still like a oddregeneration phase as he's the one that changes into nine. If I got Christopher Elctioson ion the right place.

trystan830 05-06-2015 12:52 PM

yep, that's the right place for the War Doctor.

trystan830 07-15-2015 12:05 PM

Series 9!! september 19!!

Witchchylde 09-15-2015 02:50 PM

Two Days After My Birthday! WHEEEE! I get to have four whole days of nothing but Doctor Who on BBC America running up to it, as well! *happy dances* Oh, and it looks like we get to see Peter Capaldi rock out on a guitar at some point this season, according to official trailers!

trystan830 09-15-2015 02:56 PM

yaay Dr Who!!

it's the first of my fall shows to come back! =)

Lawtan 09-16-2015 06:34 PM

>.>
*Has sort of lost track after Eleven regenerated...*

trystan830 09-16-2015 10:11 PM

there's only been one season since then - season 8. season 9 starts saturday. =)

Quiet Man Cometh 09-23-2015 08:23 PM

I'm not a regular watcher but I'm looking at it now and then. I'm taking episode recommendations if people have any. So far have "Blink," "The End of the World," "The Empty Child," "Day of the Doctor" (not sure if that's an episode or a thing about Dr. Who. Clarification?) Matt Smith's First Episode (not sure that that one is), "Dalek," and "The Shakespeare Code."

Den 12-26-2015 03:18 AM

Has anyone else seen "The Husbands of River Song" yet? *bounce bounce bounce*

trystan830 12-26-2015 08:24 PM

i watched it last night... but just got back online to reply to this.

i've added it to my list of faves! =DDD
