Mairi smiled slightly and shook her head as she looked over at Lucifer. "Hmm.... Is this person always this grumpy? Or did I do something wrong?" She asked curiously and frowned. "I'm sorry if I did something wrong, but I shall let you get on your way then if I have distracted you from your days goal." Smiling lightly as she bowed jokingly and turned towards the castle to skip away.

Kate giggled at kanon, Her outlook on the world was so different than kate's but at the same time there curiosity was the same. To see the glimmer in Kanon's eye as she looked around was so cute to her. Kate pointed at the big castle in front of them as they walked up, the castle was huge it towered easily among the surrounding cities, although in the cities it looked like a huge mountain. "This is where we could live if we won you know?" Kate stopped for a moment realizing that she had used the word 'we' a smile blew across her face, she had just realized that she trusted Kanon completely.

Kate moved forward more to the castle doors where she was stopped by a member of the royal clergy. "Ma'am, If you are a member of the challenge then we are going to have to ask you to wait here for others to arrive, you are the only one to make it so far. Kate frowned her plan of being the first to get to the castle and the first to leave failed. So much for being first. she thought as she looked down at kanon. "Well, my friend here is new to the world, can we go see the flower garden?" She smiled looking up at the clergyman. The man nodded in agreement and pointed toward the direction of the garden kate looked down at the younger girl below. "Shall we head that way then?"

Jace smirked and froze in mid step, he had got what he had wanted out of the remark he made. "Call me a pig again women and you shall meet both ends of my lance as they pass through your body" Lance continued to walk forward he didn't care what the women had thought of him, it was his nature to piss off someone who had been so naive and harsh towards him for simply offering his help, He had been stared at and talked bad upon before and it just didn't settle well upon his nerves. It pissed him off to no end, and he wasn't going to change for a women.

Kate looked down at the girl who had her head bowed, and shook her head in disagreement. "Don't be silly you'll be perfectly welcome if I win, I mean you can't live all alone can you, And so far i'm the only one you know!" Kate giggled and grabbed Kanon's hand making her way to the Flower garden that was filled with a dazzling variety of beautiful, Fragrant flowers Kate let go of her hand and made her way to a small group of flower smelling them and admiring there look.

Jace made his way to the castle when he saw a child with fox like ears skipping towards the drawbridge like a small child would. Although it pained him to side with such a Ignorant seeming child he stopped her by walking in front of her. "You, child you wouldn't happen to be entering in the contest for the throne are you?" The man forced a smile and offered out his hand "My name is Jace, I am a mercenary and i was curious to see if you would like to hire my blade."

Mairi stopped after a minute and frowned as she came up to the person that had stepped into her path. "Umm....No not really. I don't care about the throne challenge, but I do want to hear the information on it." Smiling brightly as she tilted her head, ears twitching slightly. "Hmm.... And why would I hire a mercenary? I don't want to kill anyone...Unless they threaten my being." Nodding as she glanced up. "What about you? Are you to compete in the challenge?"

Lance was glancing down upon the conflict between the Dragoon and the strange woman from his perch on top a small building, he watched in delight as the other mercenary made fool of the woman who denied his offer. Oh la la the smell of conflict already? This is going to be quite the fun experience The man began to frown seeing no clashing of edged weapons a soft and low sounding sigh came from his mouth as they walked their separate directions I was hoping they would kill each other, it would save me from more work.

The man shrugged his shoulders as he noticed the woman from before get tugged on by another women talking about the Challenge.. I don't think so there will be no teaming yet not on my watch...A cheshire grin appeared on his face as he used his spell blade powers to cast a "Silence" spell on the women with the staff the would cause her magic power to be sealed, as he did that he jump down in front of the women with a hood covering his face and his katana drawn. "Prepare yourselves to die under the blade of your new king..."

Kate looked bad to see that kanon was having the time of her life, she giggled and sat on a bench observing her running about the garden looking at varying flowers. "So, Have you seen flowers before?" Kate smiled and looked down at a rose and picked it walking carefully to Kanon and placing the rose in her hair, for some reason Kate saw Kanon as a little sister and wanted to treat her as one.

Jace shook his head as the women accused her of killing other. "No my dear I am only offering protection a bodyguard if you will, With the challenge coming up everyone is in danger of being attacked, Though most run around thinking differently" Jace smiled and offered his hand he like this girl she wasn't aggravated and pissy like the last girl he encountered "My name is jace and i am a Dragoon, I was raised by a dragon named umbra."

Lance laughed at the women's comment about leaving, Like they had a choice, At least this way he didn't have to fight. "Look, Normally im really nice, but I am determined to get the crown And if that means taking out the competition then so be it." Lance wasn't stupid although he rather stop the violence and prevent death he knew the world was naive, There was no such thing as peace, and in order to get the crown he would have to shed blood. Lance muttered a small chant to himself as the golden words "speed" rand across his blade, Lance took off at an almost breakneck speed and met up with Noelle's scythe clashing against it with sparks flying everywhere. "Now, Either drop out of the challenge or die.."

Kate smiled and nodded "your grandmother was a really smart lady, Im sure with time you will understand what shes talking about" Kate looked down and saw the sword from earlier draping down from kanon's waist. "so can you use that thing?" she asked in curiosity, kate giggled as she unsheathed her rapier from the scabbard on her side stepping back a few steps and pointing it at Kanon. "How about we sparr to pass the time?"

"Ummm..... Well I don't know if I would really need protection since I'm not participating." Sighing she kicked her boot at the ground and watched him closely. "But I guess we could walk the same path, since I'm just trying to find someone that would make a good ruler." Nodding as she turned slowly. "You know... That amount of power though, could corrupt anyone after a while."

Jace frowned and shook his head in disagreement at her offer and bowed his head. "I apologize but i have no interest to follow someone not in the challenge without pay, I shall now take my leave" Without another word the man walked passed her into the castle to the castle gate and sat leaning against the castle wall. "I'm sure there will be someone to hire me i'll just have to be patient."..

Kate smiled and looked in awe as she witness Kanon take the cloak off revealing armour. "Well, I didn't expect to see that, Caught me off guard a bit" Kate lowering her sword to point at the ground she began once more to speak "Alright, The rules are no death like blows, I can handle small cuts and gashes but i can't bring people back from the dead i'm no Necromancer" Kate giggled and charged quickly at Kanon swing her sword with elegance swiftly across kanon's chest area waiting for a response and bracing herself for a block.

Lance watched as the women took the other by the arm and began to flee, It didn't bother lance much though he still did not trust them, The etched golden glyphs of the word 'Speed' once again appeared alongside his katana and in no time he had blocked their path away from lance. "You did not answer my question, If you have no reason to want the crown why would you join? Either answer or fall at the edge of my blade, I have no time for petty cat and mouse games." Lance's eyes became cold and serious the look on his face almost emotionless, Though he was not prone to violence with these women he would refuse to let someone get away when he thought they were an enemy.

Jokull was getting irritated with the fact that until more people would show up, that the guards wouldn't let the challenger's in to get the information. Gritting his teeth, he attempted to control his attitude for now. "Just wonderful.... Figures human guards would be this dense. The challenge is a matter of time...." Grumbling slightly as he turned slowly to look at the few other people on the bridge.

Eyes stopped on the man that had just arrived, his curiosity intrigued by the man in the strange outfit. But what had caught his interest was not the outfit, but the feeling of immense magical energy coming from him. "You there.... What are you? I know by your presence that you are not a human nor a brother of my own race."

Mairi frowned at the man's sudden disappearance before shaking her head. "Geez... This is troublesome..." Mumbling before she headed up the far side of the bridge. Determined to find a justly soulful person, Mairi wanted to see a person fit to be ruler on that throne. "They need to know there is more then just the people in this central kingdom..."

Kate blinked when the girl squeak she dropped down her sword and patted her shoulder. "Are you alright Kanon? I don't want you to be scared its just practice" It was then Kate realized just how alone Kanon had been all her life, She had no one to practice with no one to call family, Kate held back tears she knew how it felt to a degree. "We don't have to practice if you don't want to..."

Lance stood in silence for a moment his mind trying to process the matter, His heart felt like it was dropping for Lance to so blindly want to change the world, he had forgotten about the lengths people would go to save the ones they loved. He had once lost someone near and dear to him someone who he considered to be his sister, someone who used to be as alone as he was. Lance quickly sheathed his weapon, he swept the hood back over his face and only let out a small phrase to dance across the ears of the women. "You will find her I know you will, And if necessary when and if i become king i will have the entire world searched till you find answers.." A single tear dripped from the shadows that were created from the hooded man he turned around not another word to be spoke and began walking in the direction of the castle gates.

After a while of sitting alone by the gate he heard a mans voice address him, The accusation that he could not be human almost made him laugh, But it was understandable not many people had seen Dragoons or even heard of them. "My name is Lance, Son of Umbra, I am what is called a dragoon Though I am a human unlike you said I can see where you would make that mistake." Jace stood up pulling his Lance from the ground and began walking carefully toward the man trying his best to seem unhostile.

"You are here for the challenge no?" The Only part not hidden by his helmet the man's smile stood out brightly from his armour. "I do not see any companions am i right to say that you are alone on this quest?" Jace placed the lance firmly in the ground in front of him. "Are you in need of an assistant in this competition?"

"Yea, I know. She's one of the few blood mages around. Many people think cause she's one, she's all, 'I'm going to cut your heart out and drink your blood' thing." Noelle rolled her eyes dramatically at that, "Oh, I heard while I was shoplifting food." she grins, noticing Lance coming uncomfortable, "Something wrong?"

"A dragoon.... Now that's the stuff of legends amongst my people boy..." Smiling as he leaned back against the stone pillar and attempted to take in the man's presence. "Amongst the Elves, seeing a dragoon is as rare as seeing a unicorn." Chuckling as he glanced down towards the other end of the bridge for a moment. "And as for traveling companions I have one, but I sent him off for a break." Sighing and shaking his head before he turned his attention back to his guest.

"Hmmm...l I could use another companion, per say, along the road on this quest. It would be quite nice to have someone that's presence would make people squirm." Smiling as he toyed with one of the gem stone necklaces he wore. "Yes I would like to have you come along with me. My names Jokull, nice to meet you."

Kate knelt to her knees frowning and nodding from disagreement, She looked directly into kanon's eyes and smiled trying to fill Kanon's heart with comfort "Listen, Everyone has some role to play in this world or you wouldn't have been born, Its fine for it to be your first time fighting, I can help you learn like your grandmother did." Kate giggled standing up quickly and gently ruffling Kanon's hair being careful not to knock the rose out. "I could be like your big sister in a way, Which also means I won't let anything bad happen to you ok?"

Lance laughed gently hearing how Noelle described some as greedy. "Well, It is items they paid for to sell, For all you know they needed those items to keep there store together" Lance looked down at his arm and noticed that it was being grasped by Noelle, His hooded face began to turn a bright pink.

Trying to ignore it he looked back over at lei Fascinated by the answers he was given, He shook his head at the response of the attire. "Most, Blood mages I have seen where the dark looking scary robes with demonic writing its just rare to see someone thats a blood mage like you wear them is all, I didn't mean to seem rude, Its a very interesting magic though, I don't see why everyone fusses over it so much." Lance shrugged and then looked off towards the distance, it was getting about time for the challenge to start. "So are we going to the challenge or what?" He said in a teasingly tone as he pointed toward the castle.

"Rare as a unicorn huh? I guess i have never heard a dragoon be referred to as that before" Jace grinned hearing the man saying he wanted the presence of a dragoon to cause people distress. "I like the sound of that proposition, Its always fun to cause mayhem here or there." Jace looked down the bridge and back at the man. "So, When is your other companion coming back to the gates? Its always good to know who your allies are and what their strengths are"
