Hey Lawtan? I think Gall and I mentioned this already but godmodding is poor etiquette in RP. Controlling what happens to Thomas, even if it seems something basic like having his arm get knocked out of the way and his gun fire, is essentially doing just that. It's okay to say that the rock is heading towards Thomas' arm but leave what actually happens with that to Sheol.
For example, Dante came up and grabbed Tarja's arm when she was going to cut the angel's head off. Espy typed what Dante was doing, but he didn't say what actually happened on Tarja's part. Also note that when I posted that Tarja was going to cut the angel's head off, I stopped at her actual swing. This allows for other people to react to what's happening (ie. Sheol and Espy). You should give Sheol a chance to respond to the threat headed towards Thomas, or work things out here or in PM as to what might happen. It's alright to post using someone else's character so long as you've cleared it with them first. |
Here is how I've been seeing us all in relation to each other.
MARVEL AT MY MSPAINT SORCERY! So, there's no real way he could shoot the angel without hitting Tarja, Diogenes, Lev, or one of his own men instead. I should also probably remind you, his soldiers still have their sidearms (submachineguns, which can't penetrate their armor, they are fully willing to open a crossfire), and that Thomas can set people on fire with a thought, as we've seen. I'll also finally give you guys the list of all his cybernetics at this point so you know what you're dealing with. Lastly, that last bit of your post was god-modding -- describing how zombie mooks get killed by your character is fine and whatnot, but Thomas is an NPC with a capital C, gets his own agency in posts, so you can't really say how he reacted. (Oh, and the eyes are the veil from Zephyr's Companion) |

And hey, just keep in mind how lucky you are to have to deal with *Thomas*. Ask Espy or Salone about Kasdeja. :D

Yeah, but Kadia as a character would lose her cool completely in reality...but I am trying not to get her killed. I'd have her duel Thomas, but that would be blatant godmodding, even if it ended with him having her bound. Hence, the angel shooting. Hmm...
And yes, I'll be fixing it. Same outcome - something hits the angel - but I am having to figure out how. (As a note: if avatar not good, feel free to ask me to change it back) |
It's having something actually *hit* the angel (or another character) that's the issue. Make your intentions known in the post, ie. pull the trigger, say the bullet is flying, but don't say that the bullet actually hits. That's taking someone else's destiny into your own hands (hence why it's called godmodding.) Stop when the (metaphorical) bullet is in the air.

I feel the need to point out since she isn't here at the moment, Galla was seriosuly planning to have fishboy go poke the angel, which would serve to circumvent that particular issue.

It's perfectly fine from an RP standpoint to have Kadia take a swing at Thomas' face. Just realize that he might not like it. ;)

Considering the gear Thomas has, and his already disposition towards just killing her, I'd assume a fight would wind up with either her or Rurik dead. Hence she can't fight. Hence the angel is called upon.

Okay, I hope I read your post well enough to respond. I'm not entirely sure what Kadia was doing. Also, don't take anything Tarja says as a comment on you, personally. She's just lippy. ;)
Part of the fun (I think) role play is keeping in character, so I wouldn't try to doctor your actions too much according to what you think will happen in the role play. If you're worried about Kadia getting killed, say so, and I'm sure we'll come up with something to keep her alive, even if she punches Thomas in the face. ;). Remember that you don't need to try and do or carry things single handed. We're all here too. :) |
Yeah, certain RPCs aren't going to just stand around while someone's getting killed.

In that case, Thomas has an enemy now. Kadia does not forget her enemies. Also, I wish I had known that beforehand. I pretty much resorted to "deus ex danger" to get out of that situation without Kadia seeming like a coward (as both she and I see it).

We aren't too far ahead that you can't still change things, Lawtan. And things just mess up sometimes in RP. Don't worry about it too much. When you have half a dozen people writing in the same story line, it's not always going to perfectly smooth.

(She does have a future antivenom kit, and she will be resistant to it...I'll be looking up mild snake venom effects now...and she has her chemicals) I am surprised at how they immediately went to Kadia for inadvertently causing something to fall on them. Gravity was at fault. |

Yeah bro, you need to remember first that this isn't the usual setting, everything is amped up as shit, and second that when we seem to keep asking IF YOU'RE REALLY REALLY REALLY SURE YOU WANT TO DO IT THIS WAY it's because we can see how hard it will be to avoid death. We don't want either of your charries to die (unless we know for a fact that we can, and will, bring them back).

Hmm...various wounds breaking the skin...they will likely be kept to her legs... Also, Eschaton level Mithridatism. If it were 1 or 10, she could brush it off. As it is, there are probably 20 or more. Hmm...horned snakes...Native American or Biblical reference? Kadia is her own medic - Rurik is like a maxed med kit/wardog. (He could likely resurrect you) Just glad it's not a neurotoxin. |
