I used to leave my carrier out, and the cat would sleep in it sometimes...but whenever I moved it he knew something was up.

Feythfull 08-25-2011 10:21 AM

I see he wanted to stay home!

my cat will never go in her carrier *sigh*

Serra Britt 08-25-2011 01:24 PM

I have to kind of "pour" him into the carrier with it upright. He hates being in there and travelling, but he doesn't mind the destination...unless it's the vet.

Feythfull 08-25-2011 01:56 PM

my cat doesn't like being in the car it scares her though it doesn't happen often even when i bring her to the vet we usually walk or take the bus.

my stepfather brought her in the car to pick me up from work one day Dx

Serra Britt 08-25-2011 09:41 PM

Uhh, wasn't your cat panicking? D: How could he do that? >.>;

Feythfull 08-25-2011 10:57 PM

she was standing my the window meowing it's only a 5 minute drive

Serra Britt 08-25-2011 11:06 PM

Okay, well, five minutes isn't too bad, that's about how long it takes me to get to the vet here. My cat starts meowing his head off as soon as he's put in the carrier though.

Feythfull 08-25-2011 11:11 PM

she meows and meows when i walk her to the vet too

Serra Britt 08-25-2011 11:20 PM

Except for the vet, my cat has always loved the destination, and hated the travel.

Taki 08-26-2011 10:14 AM

*mews* < u<

cat carriers, huh? I have two strange cats. one of them hates going in the carrier, but he LOVES it at the vet~ such a good boy. meanwhile, my other cat strolls into the carrier without a problem (and even does this while we're trying to get the male cat into it, and she's all "see what i can do~?") but she does not like the vet. o_o

Serra Britt 08-26-2011 10:38 AM

Now if only they would share the feelings of love for the stuff right? An older cat I used to have didn't mind the vet one bit.

Taki 08-26-2011 01:21 PM

Yeah. xD with my male cat, I do the same as mentioned earlier, holding the carrier upright and dipping him down in it. Usually requires two people.

Serra Britt 08-26-2011 01:28 PM

If I don't have a second person available I prop the carrier up against a wall. When I was moving, I had to stop and sleep a while and I let the cat out of the carrier. When I woke up, I had to take the carrier out of the truck, prop it up against the wheel, and then get the cat and put him in. I was so scared he'd get away and run or something but he was very calm as I dumped him back in the carrier.

Feythfull 08-26-2011 01:58 PM

Isn't he a good little kitty!

Serra Britt 08-26-2011 04:35 PM

I think he was just worn out from travelling by that time. I'm glad he's with me, really.

Feythfull 08-26-2011 04:37 PM

yes that is probably true he couldn't relax on the road
