I sadly cannot afford to buy Skyrim when it comes out. ;o; My brother is getting the super special addition that comes with the dragon statue and book. I'll have to yoink his game when he is at work or something.

I just wish I had a computer that could run it. The game must be so much better with mods. My laptop might be able to handle it, but I have a feeling it might explode after a while. :p

Illusion 10-26-2011 04:11 PM

Pfft. Mods are fun, but I prefer playing the way the game intended.
On the other hand it will make running across the vast fields so much quicker! dX

Renzek 10-27-2011 01:12 PM

Ok be honest, who else goes straight to the guard watch and just starts a bloody masacre once you finish the main questline?

Suzerain of Sheol 10-27-2011 04:22 PM

In the... snow town, forget the name, I have a house whose front lawn is littered with the gear of about 100 guardsman, and yet, for some reason, their brothers never take the hint that it is a BAD IDEA to mess with me. Must be the outrageous bounty on my head. :p

Illusion 10-28-2011 03:39 PM

xDDDDD

My Thief I've been working on can't seem to get a break from the guards, I get pursued way to much.. I guess that's what happens when your a thief.

Suzerain of Sheol 10-28-2011 04:11 PM

You must not be a very good thief, then. :p

I was kind of disappointed with the thieving aspects of Oblivion. There was nothing really valuable to steal, thanks to the shopkeeper having virtual inventories unlike Morrowind where their stuff was lying around the shop. The game's level scaling didn't help, either.

Illusion 10-28-2011 04:28 PM

Well I just made this girl... xD
I'm better when I actually have decent armor. My main thief is amazing, but that's only because I made him go through most of the main quest until I stopped to work on his thieving skills. Which turned out fabulously, because I don't run across the fields I forced him to sneak all the way. No horse, nothing! And yet I was stupid wonder why he has gained over 800 hours of gameplay yesterday...

Illusion 11-01-2011 04:19 PM

Dang it.. I forgot I had the vampire decease, and just gave my thief vampirism.. I guess vampirism is good for a thief, but when you are a high elf and is weak to fire as it is.. Just.. Yeah.. x.x..

Im so hoping i can afford skyrim along with Ultimate Marvel 3 >w<

Suzerain of Sheol 11-02-2011 03:14 PM

Has anyone checked out the videos of leaked gameplay that are showing up online? Apparently there's version out there for modded 360s, but I refuse to read or watch any of the info that's come out. I want to experience the game firsthand.

Obbiesan 11-02-2011 03:17 PM

i have not cause i feel the same way i want to experience it like i did oblivion with no ideal what i was doing lol

Suzerain of Sheol 11-07-2011 11:35 PM

People already have this game. >_>

I am jealous. >_<

Even though I have a research paper due on Friday. :p

Yea, you need to not distract yourself!

My roommates dragged me to a game store today and I saw SO MANY games I wanted myself. But one of them is getting Skyrim anyways so I'll get to watch it.

Hopefully there will be no problems with the PlayStation 3 version; if I ever become a serious gamer again, I might get it.

I haven't checked into it for a month or two, so if anyone has heard anything about it recently, feel free to share. I believe I read they were adding a talent system similar to Fallout 3, which should be interesting, though I'm not sure I prefer it over the improve-with-use system they had.

One thing about these games that I think needs improvement is the main quest line. I've literally never bothered with them; as soon as I get past the tutorial, I'm gone, off to explore Tamriel, without a care in the world for whatever I'm "supposed" to be doing. I don't want them to restrict free-roaming or anything, I just want the main quest to be more engaging and rewarding than it has been in the past.

Also, did I hear dual-wielding was in, or was that just a rumor? And dragons, too?

Oh, and any word on how level-scaling will work? I'm hoping they do some sort of mix of Morrowind and Oblivion, ideally without the shortcomings of either system.

This post is unbelievably old but I feel compelled to answer your questions.

YES you can dual wield.
YES there are dragons.

Did you know?
  • You can get married.
  • You can dual wield spells.
  • You can "hold" your spells to continuously cast them.
  • You can add "talents" or "skills" based on your star sign (I think you can fill up multiple signs but I don't know for sure)
