Ugh, I'm so jealous of the babies. We've not had the best of luck with eggs. Well, our last two 10km were Dratini, but we wanted something we didn't have, even if we are about halfway to evolving Dragonair into Dragonite. Been catching a bunch of Growlithe lately, though. Growlithe and Rhyhorn.

Sounds like a fun day, Demonskid :)

ml1201 12-27-2016 02:59 PM

I have been playing much because I still haven't renewed the data thing for my car since I leave it on while I'm driving to get steps. ^^;

Demonskid 12-27-2016 03:11 PM

i thought you had to drive slow for steps to count o3o how slow you be driving?

ml1201 12-27-2016 03:14 PM

They don't count all the steps, only a fraction of it. There's no good places to walk unless I drive for thirty minutes and you know how my mom bitches when I go out anywhere. =.=;

Demonskid 12-27-2016 03:20 PM

i need to get more steps >-< i wanna hatch eggs -lazy lazy-

ml1201 12-27-2016 03:34 PM

Well, maybe this area you're moving to will be okay for walking?

Demonskid 12-28-2016 12:43 PM

its not that my current area isn't safe for walking.. i just don't like being outside at all x'D

Konzern 12-28-2016 01:48 PM

I just don't feel like walking at the moment, even though there's a Tentacool down the road. But I caught a Kabuto last night! First Fossil in nature, and the only pre-evolved form we needed, now we have one of each.

ml1201 12-28-2016 03:03 PM

meh, not feeling too good, so no walking for me. @.@

Demonskid 12-28-2016 03:38 PM

hope you feel better soon ml ono

Yokuutsu 12-29-2016 02:01 AM

Like a week ago, I was finally able to get a phone that can run this.

So happy <3

And I caught a Christmas Pikachu....like all we see around here apparently is pidgey, ratata, and eevee mostly with everything else being good luck on it.

I just happened to open Pokemon Go...and pikachu was just like...hey! you've been looking for me...(And now I finally had great balls :D

Espy 12-29-2016 04:54 AM

Hey, who knows, one of those Pidgeys might be a Ditto.

Konzern 12-29-2016 12:00 PM

We went out last night and it was basically Abra-palooza. Sighted eight in all, came across three, two ran from me but I caught one more. If they took over the Bulba nest, we'll get Alakazam in no time.

Demonskid 12-29-2016 12:10 PM

I finally evolved a santa pika into santa raichu! ovo so cute >w<

Yokuutsu 12-29-2016 12:54 PM

One of them was a ditto.

I have caught multiple dittos.

My area sucks for pokemon hunting unless you have a lure or incense....then there's a chance of not pidgey, not venonat. not ratata, not eevee...I mean, I don't even see caterpie or weedle that often. My friend has been playing for months....hasn't seen a pikachu until the holiday event.

Demonskid 12-29-2016 12:55 PM

I need more pokeballs before i could even TRY for ditto hunting ono

Konzern 12-29-2016 01:04 PM

I'm waiting for Santa Raichu, just need a few more candies. We have little luck with Ditto hunting, only gotten one. I tend to grab Pidgey and Rattata to evolve, we're trying to hit level 25.

Demonskid 12-29-2016 01:57 PM

-still level 15- >w> 15 forever xD

Yokuutsu 12-29-2016 01:57 PM

I have over 100 basic pokeballs. Most pokemon are near the library or post office...there's never any at the two other pokestops.

And there's one church that's a pokestop. We have one gym that used to be team valor constantly...now it's mystic.

They messed up a bit by doing stuff based on cell phones/population because people like me? We can't really play unless we want five billion pidgey....since I'm not walking through the entire town to never find the one pokemon I don't have that is 'nearby'

I like when I get to go to another city though. More pokemon everywhere!

Konzern 12-29-2016 02:23 PM

We're about halfway to 25, but it's taking a long time!

That's about how it is here, Yokuutsu. We know the routes, and we'll drive them almost every night to get balls up, and I'll take the occasional gym. And yes, we get good things especially now that we've hit higher levels, but those are lucky days compared to what we usually see. I've seen people in bigger cities saving that rural players need to be happy if they can play, come down here where we have a dozen or so stops scattered around town where you can't walk down the street hitting two on each corner and tell me again how lucky we are.

Yokuutsu 12-29-2016 02:36 PM

Exactly because they're giving us just enough to tease us. Which two pokestops, you can sit between them and reach both at one time, so I won't complain too much about our lack of pokestops (with two others in walking distance from those two)

I just want more variance in what pokemon we get....because none of those...ghost in the graveyard, fire pokemon at the gas station, water in water areas apply here .-. Which can be a good thing considering.

Konzern 12-29-2016 04:10 PM

I have noticed that myself for the most part. Never seen ghosts in the graveyard, I've seen two wild Electabuzzes, but both far out of town and away from the electric company, they just basically show up where they want here. We don't even have stops in the graveyards, there's three in town, and many have unique monuments plus several Confederate graveyards. The post office and the playground at the park, which is by a gym, are usually the good spots.

Demonskid 12-29-2016 07:57 PM

They need to add more pokestops.. not just at historical locations and churches.. =o=

Too many people are home bound and there are too many (like me) who can't walk far distances and have no way to get to a pokestop every day ono

Coda 12-29-2016 08:06 PM

Pokemon Go is, by its core design, all about walking and traveling.

When you're a game developer, there's the unfortunate truth that not everyone will play your game. Some people won't be interested; some won't be able to. After all, there's no expectation that someone who hasn't upgraded their computer in five years will be able to play recent games, nor is there an expectation that a crippled person will be able to play arcade Dance Dance Revolution, even if they really really want to.

In light of that, when you're designing a game, you want to focus on making it the best experience possible for the people who CAN play the game. Adding in a way to play without walking and traveling would be opposed to the core game mechanic, and it would make the game worse.

Awen Moonshine 12-29-2016 08:44 PM

It would be nice to be able to request new stops in a much easier way though. There are quite a few places of interest I know of that we believe should be stops that aren't.

Because of the recent event we've been out every day to at least collect from stops, but today I've been too burnt out from it to move from the sofa :( Thankfully my lovely partner took my phone around to our local stop (a pub 5-10 mins walk away) just to tag it and get my daily bonus and free incubator for me. I'm kind of looking forward to the end of the event to go back to normal...

I'm now just over halfway through level 30 and I have quite a few of the babies now. I've nearly got enough candy to evolve my Omanyte after going over 100km too! I can't wait to change my buddy, although I'm not sure weather to change to my Charmeleon, Ivysaur, Dragonair or Togepi as their evolutions are the only ones I'm missing now ^_^;;

Yokuutsu 12-29-2016 08:44 PM

I'm not against traveling....except the point of Pokemon Go should be to get people walking instead of driving....but to get anything done, I've got to drive 15 miles away.

The town there is about 10k people....about 3 times the size of my town, only double the size of my town and the twin city right up against it.

Five pokestops in our twin city: a church, a stupid railroad sign, a caboose, the library, and the post office. There are plenty of other historical things that could be pokestops, but no. There is one gym in the twin cities.

The city double the size of the twins? At least 30+ pokestops (30 in one area of the town) 4+ gyms (At least 3 in the same area with the pokestops)....that is absolute crap. I know they have discovery park of america, so I accept they'll have more, but that much of a discrepancy? On top on the variation of pokemon? (AKA actually being able to find a Christmas Pikachu at a pokestop instead of just luckily seeing it....or being able to find anything but a ratata, pidgey, or venonat) That's a way to discourage people so they don't play....or if they do, they'll be spending money on GAS to play instead of possibly throwing it at Niantic and Nintendo for in game items.

I was excited to play, I really was....until I got to level 10 or so and realized all that spawns are venonats pretty much. Beyond a scyther once in awhile and maybe a parasect....I don't see any new pokemon. And it doesn't even register my walking (when I have the app on) towards hatching eggs (one day I walked a mile...it registered .1km when it should've registered over 1km). All of this on top of each other, well, obviously they only want people in bigger cities playing. Which is disappointing for fans like me...the ones that love the games and kind of wanted to pretend they were pokemon trainers once in awhile XD But I have never caught this many venonats or pidgey in one game. Though I do like pidgey XD

Can I get more pikachu now....that'd get me to shut up for awhile XD

Demonskid 12-29-2016 09:08 PM

yea the point of the game is to get people out and walking and yet if a pokestop is too far away, whats the point.

SparX 12-29-2016 09:13 PM

there is one a mile away but I still don't have the drive to drive there half the time XD

Konzern 12-29-2016 09:14 PM

Nobody is saying they need to cut out the walking and traveling, we're saying, at the core of it, add more stops. There are plenty of things in my area, and I'm sure others will agree, that could be stops, probably have more right to be stops than some already existing, but they are not stops.

No, I don't expect everything to be a stop. Yes, it would be cool to hit something from my house, but the cement factory in front of us is no longer active, and it's not something you think of when you think of our town, so no it doesn't need to be a stop. Things that have been here since my mom can remember, and are still active? Yeah, some of those as stops would be awesome.

You go to the next town over, which is not much bigger than ours, but it's a cultural city, and you have over 20 stops on their main/broad streets. Practically every single shop, a fountain, and public murals. All stops.

I don't expect to be treated the same as someone in a big city. We can't all afford to live in one. But for rural communities to have nothing, or next to nothing, when there are so many things more than "church, church, public government building, church, park, church" and people, especially those in big cities with stops every three steps, who say we have to deal with it, it pisses me off. I would hope we're at least allowed to rant about it.

Yokuutsu 12-29-2016 09:41 PM

I remember my friend playing when they said they had too many pidgey and ratata spawning....the difference now is less spawning of everything with the same percentage of pidgey and ratata as before.

My friend lives in a smaller town of 300...I believe they have one or two pokestops. One is a woodmen of the world member's grave, which I know we have at least one of those in our graveyard (but it isn't a pokestop) and maybe the post office too. My town is 10x that and has no pokestops or gyms....it's our twin city that borders us that has 5 pokestops and a gym. I mean, come on, make the railroad museum up the street a pokestop. Or a few more churches pokestops. Or that one historical house they're working on. Or that ancient graveyard....or the signs with interesting historical facts on them around the twin cities...or the fountains in the new park...the old park's fountain is a gym...make the two ponds with fountains two more gyms...one for each team could be possible. Now, I know that won't happen, but I can dream.

I would just really like more variation in the pokemon that spawn more than anything else. I'm level...12? 13? and even with the increased spawn rate of starters and the like...it's the same rate as when my friend was playing it seems (back when I played for him more than he played).

Demonskid 12-30-2016 01:30 PM

I'm out of pokeballs again o3o

Yokuutsu 12-30-2016 03:04 PM

Go get moar! I have like over 100 XD

Demonskid 12-30-2016 04:11 PM

I wish i could. I have no one to take me to a pokestop ono

Yokuutsu 12-30-2016 04:42 PM

How far away is your nearest one?

Espy 12-30-2016 07:38 PM

Yeah, we suburban folk don't need more Pokemon; we need more PokeStops.

Demonskid 12-30-2016 10:18 PM

there is a charmander near me and i can't catch it o-o

Yokuutsu 12-31-2016 01:13 PM

I thought of another place that could be a pokestop, the war memorial up the street.

We need more everything here.

I went to a nearby college town, plenty of pokemon I'd never seen, even though the school was EMPTY! .-.
