I'm in another continent too, but once a friend sent me candy and it was like... full of ants when I got to it :((((

Kaderin Triste 04-25-2017 05:21 PM

Death: Yeah, I've seen those. But honestly...I don't have the desire to make rainbow grilled cheese. Because I pretty much never shred cheese for a sandwich, so yeah...I just take a good slice of cheddar, slap it between the bread and grill away.

Mdom: O.O How did the ants even get in?!? Like...the candy couldn't have been packed properly if they did! Yikes!

Death by Mirrors 04-25-2017 05:39 PM

Yeah, it's quite a bit of unneccessary work, but I still think it looks cool, so one day I am going to try it... along with the 237 other things on pinterest and instructables that are already on my to do list ^^

You have good taste in cheese.

Kaderin Triste 04-25-2017 05:47 PM

Yeah...I never really got into pintrest, so I watch one channel's diy stuff on YouTube and that's pretty much it. I have enough "diy" and craft stuff that I am doing already that except the occasional food one, I don't need to add anything else to my list.
XD
Honestly...I MIGHT do rainbow grilled cheese for my birthday. Instead of making a cheesecake. Because I need to cut back on my sugar intake.

Death by Mirrors 04-25-2017 06:02 PM

There's never such a thing as enough craft and diy stuff XD
(but I know what you mean, I sometimes wonder how many months and paychecks it's going to take me to actually go through my entire list)

Kaderin Triste 04-25-2017 06:06 PM

Lol. Well, in addition to making all the animals in the new pattern book I got, I have 3 bracelets in progress, I want to learn to make chainmaille ornaments and scalrmaille lotus candle holders and (even though I will never be able to afford it) I want to make a loom knit scalemaille weighted blanket.

Good evening everyone! How have you all been?

Potironette 04-25-2017 06:48 PM

Evening! I'm doing homework. Tomorrow I have to start thinking about colleges because the school has a college fair. Actually if I was being a well-prepared student I should be looking at the list right now :<

Death by Mirrors 04-25-2017 07:21 PM

Hehe yeah, that sounds like a nice list of projects.

I want to learn how to crochet, make rainbow grilled cheese sandwiches, try working with Worbla or similar thermoplastic material, collect all my tried and approved cooking recipes in one place, try mig welding, make the blue rock candy they used as meth in Breaking Bad, finish my diy Star Trek pyjama, make treasure pudding, create Steampunk accessories, and probably a dozen things I've forgotten right now.

Kaderin Triste 04-25-2017 07:24 PM

Ah yes. Recipe organization. I started typung up stuff on my computer, but got bored. Need to get back to that.

Death by Mirrors 04-25-2017 07:31 PM

Yup. I have about forty individual sheets of paper, stored in thirty different places, and usually when I'm looking for a particular one it takes me longer to find the recipe than to actually cook the meal. Some of the stuff I make often I know by heart (shrimp biryani and pad thai for example, or the beef stew my grandfather taught me) but I can't for the life of me remember baking recipes - even when making meringue I need to look up how much sugar actually goes in there.

dragoness129 04-25-2017 07:39 PM

Lots of luck with the colleges!
I'm trying to get one game to load, but my connection is horrible. It keeps making me mad and sad.

Gee forty? Is that all? Haha...admittedly a lot of the recipes I'm copying aren't tested yet, but if I copy them into my computer I can get rid of the magazines and books, which will save me room.
I used to have my parent's cornbread recipe memorized, but I haven't made it in YEARS. If I had a better kitchen (and more money) I would probably cook/bake more frequently and would have a few recipes memorized...but my kitchen sucks.

dragoness129 04-25-2017 08:03 PM

My grandma got me a recipe box for Christmas. ^_^

Kaderin Triste 04-25-2017 08:09 PM

Recipe boxes are cool. If I had the counter space for it, I'd steal the one from my dad's house. But alas. I don't even have enough counter space for a microwave.
That is still a pretty nice gift. Did she put family recipes in it?

Fulkth 04-25-2017 09:30 PM

I have a recipe box! It used to be my grandma's! Her recipes are still inside. My recipes are on my computer and in a folder.
