that would require me buying a ps3...and I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too broke for that

Suzerain of Sheol 02-05-2012 10:19 PM

Ah, heh, yes that would be something of an impediment. :p

Fey 02-05-2012 10:22 PM

if I lived closer to Agent Night I could...cause...well, night has one...but that's a three hour drive

Serra Britt 02-05-2012 10:45 PM

I wish I did have it for PS3, but I can't really afford it right now so I just have to accept that.

Suzerain of Sheol 02-05-2012 10:47 PM

*nods* I got it as a gift, or I could never have afforded it.

Serra Britt 02-05-2012 11:01 PM

It's a really fun game though, even if it's more because I enjoy designing...

I really need to make a Phyrria Omega character.

Fey 03-21-2012 10:24 AM

sooooooo, went out and rented the game.... I'm glad I didn't spend 60(let alone 80) on it since there's NO character stories outside of the 'story mode' for sophita's brats. If they ever fix that I will buy it, if not, well this might be the first Soul Calibur game I won't own. Weird.

Serra Britt 03-21-2012 10:43 AM

I admit that rather disappointed me as well, battling is fun and all but I like at least a semblance of story behind it. While the storyline WAS rather good, I wanted to see more for others too.

Suzerain of Sheol 03-21-2012 11:44 AM

I think it's pretty obvious how rushed this game was -- all told, it was in actual development for less than a year. If anything, I find it kind of incredible that it's as polished and fun as it is, especially with the disaster hitting last year right as they were getting going on it.

That said, story mode was a joke. Character creation + online are the only draws of the game; if you're not going to use both of those to fullest, it isn't worth the money in my opinion. (Though... it's apparently dropping in price pretty fast...)

They're finally putting out new, non-disc-based DLC in April, which at least shows they're supporting the game. It's apparently popular in the tournament scene, too, so hopefully we'll see a SC6, and hopefully they'll have the time to do it right this time.

Fey 03-21-2012 01:14 PM

well if it's dropping in price rapidly...but really, I wouldn't pay more than $20 for this game, it's barely enough to keep me entertained for half a day. And I won't do the online stuff, and it feels like there's a LOT less options in the Character Creation then there used to be. Not gonna lie though...I still want the mini-artbook the 'special' edition had.
