Dumbo. ;U; <3 MMmmg. Next on list may be Bambi. TT-TT Why am I making myself cry with nostalgia and hardcore heartfelt feels??!

Ava 04-03-2020 04:24 PM

Ant Man & The Wasp

It was pretty good! I wasn't expecting the antagonist to have my name though!

The Cheetah Girls

Forgot how much I loved the music from this movie. XD

Biomecha 04-23-2020 02:56 AM

Uncorked. I quite liked it. At first it seemed like it would be a cliché perusing one's dreams while overcoming obstacles type of journey. But that wasn't the case. The characters had depth and felt real. Their traits weren't exaggerated.

Would be cool to learn about coffee in a similar way but less stressful, if only my memory and sense of taste weren't lacking so much.

Merskelly Metalien 04-26-2020 12:12 AM

Watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail again. <x} Had a laugh by myself, all alone, because my brother has better things to do, and my mom hates the movie which I thought was impossible. <x'D How can anyone hate The Holy Grail?? It's hilarious!

Merskelly Metalien 04-30-2020 10:16 PM

Watched Alien.
The first one.
:]
With my brother because he'd never seen it before.

Ava 05-04-2020 07:57 PM

Everything, Everything

I always like that movie!
The music is great!
(Except for that one song, "Stay"... that song was terribly overplayed too much.. And also, they constantly played it when we had outside time in the hospital. So naturally... I F***ING HATE THAT SONG! >:T)

Frances Ha. Have tried to watch it a few times in the past, but never really was in the mood for it. Finally finished it. Didn't dislike it, but not all that into either. I liked the relationship though, with the main friends. And the way they highlighted the journey of transitioning into adulthood.

Merskelly Metalien 05-26-2020 03:50 PM

Grave of the Fireflies.
It made me laugh.
But also wanted to cry so bad.
;_; It's a real tearjerker, and very well animated.

Biomecha 05-28-2020 12:01 AM

Another Earth. I liked the atmosphere and that it wasn't a hard sci-fi. But did not like the characters or storyline. The ending was mostly obvious. The relationship between the main characters lacked chemistry. The camera movements and awkward zooming kept taking me out of the movie and making me aware of the director and production crew.

Biomecha 05-31-2020 08:15 PM

Klaus. Hmm, wow. I don't have the slightest clue as to how this was so well received or acquired any awards. The story was incredibly ordinary with annoying characters. The way it tried to explain the origin of certain Christmas traditions felt contrived. Way too many action sequences, if you can call them that. None of them contributed anything, really. The use of the score was heavy handed. A lot of moments didn't need overly dramatic orchestral music. Or even the sappy singing not only seemed ill fitting with the overall style, it was just really cheesy.

Merskelly Metalien 06-05-2020 07:01 PM

The Prince of Egypt.
F*ckin' nostalgia made me cry in the first 7 minutes. TT~TT
At least something finally did.

KittyBeary 06-07-2020 10:45 AM

Whisper of the Heart, was really great to watch it again, forgot how much I loved it. <3

Ava 06-07-2020 03:22 PM

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

I've seen it before, but it was nice to see it again :D
I love the music in it very much!

MacSen191 06-10-2020 07:24 PM

Mama Mia 2.

Biomecha 06-26-2020 11:19 PM

The Goldfinch. At first I was intrigued. But as the events gradually unfolded, my interest gradually waned. The direction felt heavy handed? Like a lot of the dialogue had this overly rehearsed feel to it and the actors seemed all too cautious of how they moved around in a scene. Basically, the dialogue just didn't seem natural. Also, it had my big pet peeve of most of the film relying on coincidence for the plot to move along. The younger characters were far too wise for them to seem real in any way.

Biomecha 08-05-2020 12:17 AM

Jojo Rabbit. I liked some of the humor. But the characters didn't seem fully fleshed out due to how much focus was on saying or doing something funny. And I just don't think abuse should be framed as something to laugh at in any sort of way. Like the captain getting kicked in his privates.

Merskelly Metalien 08-09-2020 07:09 PM

Ip Man.
It was pretty good. :] Nice movie about the legend who taught a legend.
Also wing chun is super badass. 8o It's like defensive in nature and lightning quick! Had to watch some Bruce Lee clips after to see some of his master's style in action + all the crazy stuff he did, like light matches thrown at him with his num-chuk skills! 8D

Ava 08-11-2020 10:41 PM

Imitation of Life,

Both versions.
I've seen them both before, but the second one makes me cry.

Biomecha 09-07-2020 10:05 PM

Knives Out. Not sure what the hype was about. The characters and mystery didn't appeal to me. And Daniel Craig's character just seemed too much of a generic southern guy with a bad accent and didn't really contribute much or seem that clever in the end. So not sure why others are hoping for a franchise with him playing the same character solving other mysteries. And the truth telling/lying element just seemed like too much of a convenient plot device.

I liked that it had some campiness without going overboard with it.

Merskelly Metalien 09-18-2020 12:10 AM

The Artist (2011).
<:] A simple movie. Soundtrack is delightful, and my favorite part of course.
I still like La La Land better, but that was a musical. This was a silent film. <X} Can't even COMPARE!

Biomecha 10-08-2020 02:12 AM

Call Me by Your Name. I liked the landscape and atmosphere. But the characters didn't really intrigue me, aside from the father. I also liked the character exploration.

I mostly watched this because I've been enjoying We Are Who We Are, which is a series by the same director. The character dynamic is more complex and I find the storylines more interesting with the series. But their styles are quite similar.
