Red Calypso 03-12-2012 12:20 AM

Yep, there's two of us! What Irish lurks in your background?

Nexess 03-12-2012 12:25 AM

I'm all Irish XD Northern as far as i know. Maybe some Southern in there but i'm pretty sure it's all North. Yourself?

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 12:26 AM

I'll be honest, I have no idea what part the Fagans come from.

Nexess 03-12-2012 12:29 AM

Fagan sounds more north than south, the south tends to have longer names there.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 12:31 AM

It's possible, I've never really researched the name.

Nexess 03-12-2012 12:38 AM

I'm just going on how short the name is,, I could be completely wrong XD;;

Funkduder 03-12-2012 12:40 AM

*glomps red. Gets up. glomps nex* ~<3 XD

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 12:48 AM

Asami 03-12-2012 01:40 AM

Nexess 03-12-2012 02:39 AM

What is it with Americans and Canadians and their obsession with their roots? All we care about in the UK is where you're born. That's who you are.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 05:00 AM

Yes, but you in the UK have a sense of history on your side. You probably already know all about your ancestors. Over here for the most part our backgrounds are mysteries and it leads to curiousity and a desire to know our roots.

Ducky 03-12-2012 05:31 AM

I'd say we know a lot less about our ancestory here. I couldn't tell you anything about mine. We just don't seem to find it important here.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 05:37 AM

Again, though, whether you know who they are or not, you have a sense of WHO you are. You can be reasonably confident that your ancestors have been in England for centuries. Here in America, we have ancestors from all parts of the globe and we have no sense of history.

Ducky 03-12-2012 05:41 AM

I actually have no connections to Scotland at all, from the little I've been told. All my family is English i think, so my generation is the first Scottish one ever. I feel more Scottish than English.
I also don't really feel the need to have a sense of history. It doesn't really have any affect on life. With my dad being an archaeologist, you'd expect me to care more XD

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 05:43 AM

*laughs* Yeah, you would. Or maybe it's because he is that you're kinda burned out on it.

Ducky 03-12-2012 05:45 AM

well, he specialises in old stuff, like the bronze and iron age, Romans and all that. So i don't really have an interest in the more recent history in which ancestry can be traced.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 05:47 AM

*shrugs* I still stand by my theory. Americans want to know who they are and where they came from.

Ducky 03-12-2012 05:50 AM

funnily enough i just found this video on youtube, completely coincidentally.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI4hv...1bFUAAAAAAAbAA

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 05:56 AM

That's pretty interesting. How did you come across it?

Ducky 03-12-2012 05:58 AM

I'm subscribed to a lot of people on youtube, and that was one of the videos i had yet to watch in my subscription box. Seems to sum things up pretty well.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 06:05 AM

Yep! When I think about it, I always say I'm Irish and English with a touch of German and very likely some Native American.

Ducky 03-12-2012 06:14 AM

Where as i say i'm Scottish and that's the end of the conversation XD but saying that tends to get me a lot of interest from people outside of the EU.

Lioshika 03-12-2012 12:59 PM

Ducky has another item glitch? -Giggles.-

Ducky 03-12-2012 02:27 PM

Yeah! Nexy found this one xD

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 03:40 PM

All right, Ducky, how did you get the black background. And may I say you have the PERFECT title at the moment?

Ducky 03-12-2012 03:43 PM

The black background is a glitch that happens by equipping the shirt you see in the corner. It's the middle shade of the brown vest. It makes it so that the base and 'below' base layer is hidden behind the blackness, and you can equip 'above base' items over the blackness.

Ashy set the title last night without my knowing :P

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 03:45 PM

I'm going to have to buy it and try that. And you can set titles?

Ducky 03-12-2012 03:48 PM

Ashy is a Moderator, so she can set titles at will. You also get the chance to request 3 custom titles. The topic for doing so can be found here

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 03:50 PM

Thanks! There's still so much I have to learn about this site!

Ducky 03-12-2012 03:51 PM

I've only been here a couple of months myself, so I feel the same way about a lot of things. Luckily there are lots of very helpful people around here to help us through.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 03:54 PM

*nods* I love it when people at a site are helpful! I think I'll wait to come up with a title. I'm getting a kick out of seeing the pre-set titles at the moment.

Ducky 03-12-2012 03:56 PM

I haven't come up with a decent title that I think fits me yet, though my Mule account has had one for a while.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 03:57 PM

You can have mule accounts here?

Sir Quackers McWaddleton 03-12-2012 03:58 PM

Yeah, you get one mule and I think you're also allowed a separate account for using for Role Plays.

This would be my mule.

Red Calypso 03-12-2012 04:01 PM

*roars* I LOVE that name AND the title! Priceless!

I hate to run but I need to get off for a few hours. I'll be back later tonight.

Ducky 03-12-2012 04:06 PM

Hahaha, thank you n_n

Talk to you later

Asami 03-12-2012 04:11 PM

//pops on for a bit

Sir Quackers McWaddleton 03-12-2012 04:14 PM

Hey there 'Sami

Asami 03-12-2012 04:16 PM
