that sounds like PA drivers. in the rain, freezing rain, or snow. it's always fun when that happens here. XD

SparX - pull over and wait for a storm to end? wow, that's.... not done here either. unless, of course, it IS a torrential downpour, and you don't have to be somewhere at a certain time. i have pulled over maybe...once?

mdom 01-08-2018 10:44 PM

we don't stop when it rains here, only when it floods xD

I haven't driven/sat in a car in PA enough yet, so I have no opinion on this. (I commute by bus or by foot in Pittsburgh.)

trystan830 01-08-2018 11:46 PM

yeah, i would imagine it's different when you're not in a car.... i've always had a car to get around here.

where i am in the suburbs, there really aren't sidewalks.... and sporadic public transportation. i would imagine it's not all that fun.

SparX 01-09-2018 12:42 AM

East coast living seems like a different world sometimes XD

trystan830 01-09-2018 01:26 AM

more like east coast in the suburbs. i'm pretty sure there are busses all the time in Philly....

SparX 01-09-2018 03:11 AM

Not the bus taking part, just the general overall behavior and attitude of people there vs here or vice versa

Specific examples are mostly from Georgia and Florida, because that is wehre the largest concentrations are.

trystan830 01-09-2018 03:16 AM

Heh true. And New Jersey. And New York. They're like totally different countries XD

mdom 01-09-2018 07:17 PM

what do you mean no sidewalks o.O

trystan830 01-09-2018 07:56 PM

sidewalk along a street:

a lot of our streets just don't have them. i know someone who lives in walking distance to the Michael's we work at, and with no sidewalks on those busy roads, i certainly do not envy her.

Mekatra 01-09-2018 11:26 PM

Oh man, I should take a picture of some of our sidewalks here in my town. They have never done any maintenance on them at all.

trystan830 01-10-2018 12:17 AM

that was just a random pic i found online. the sidewalks in my neighborhood don't look quite like that.....

mdom 01-10-2018 12:04 PM

must be so dangerous to walk so close to the cars <.<

SparX 01-10-2018 01:09 PM

-lives-
I was so sick yesterday =D
I peaked at 102.5 last night that I am aware of =O

trystan830 01-10-2018 02:38 PM

SparX - gah! glad you're feeling better!

Okay, so that street is kind of what walking the long way to Michael's is like. The short way is just walking as close to the railing as you can get up and then down an exit ramp and praying to the deity of choice that no one hits you.

trystan830 01-10-2018 06:44 PM

exit ramp? yikes! those things are scary to drive on too. XD

Kaderin Triste 01-10-2018 06:54 PM

I mean, I don't live in some huge city, so it's not like some giant 5 lane, clover shaped ramp or anything, just 2 lanes in either direction, and one off ramp that heads down to where Michaels is, and and an on ramp leading out of that area. Plus another in and off ramp farther along that lead onto and off of the highway.

trystan830 01-10-2018 06:59 PM

i don't live in a huge city either. but still, that sounds like a scary place to walk, especially since not all drivers pay attention.....

Kaderin Triste 01-10-2018 07:02 PM

I definitely wouldn't walk it during the day. At night it's usually not so busy (though nothing is really open then), but a friend and I did walk it once after geyting out of a late movie. It wasn't too bad then.

trystan830 01-10-2018 07:14 PM

ah. still doesn't really sound like fun though.

mdom 01-10-2018 07:22 PM

/pets sick SparX D:

Kaderin Triste 01-10-2018 07:54 PM

Lol. I think the only reason we even walked was because I was being stubborn and pig-headed and he didn't want me to walk alone. It was pretty sucky, but not too bad.

trystan830 01-10-2018 08:12 PM

well that makes sense too. i still LOL'd. XD

Kaderin Triste 01-11-2018 12:55 AM

No wait, I lied! That was the time that we took the bus down to the movie theater and I smuggled candy in the kangaroo pocket of my cowl neck sweater because if I adjusted iy just right, it looked like I was prego instead of smuggling candy!

mdom 01-11-2018 12:35 PM

:O
were you pregnant of candy? who's the father?

trystan830 01-11-2018 12:45 PM

LOL both Kaderin and mdom!

mdom 01-11-2018 01:39 PM

Kaderin Triste 01-11-2018 01:43 PM

Lol. I mean, I did maybe eat the candy babies....so...shhh!

mdom 01-11-2018 02:17 PM

:O
it's ok I heard that happens a lot in the animal world!

Kaderin Triste 01-11-2018 06:09 PM

Lol. True, it does.

mdom 01-12-2018 01:59 PM

if only kids tasted like candy...

Espy 01-12-2018 05:04 PM

Wait what, why

Kaderin Triste 01-12-2018 05:09 PM

Mmmmm....sugar babies...

Espy 01-12-2018 05:30 PM

....oh my gods

Kaderin Triste 01-12-2018 06:50 PM

I mean....real living babies are definitely not sweet *cough*sorry, I hate babies*cough*, so no eating those of course...
XD

mdom 01-12-2018 09:32 PM

Sugar babies are slang for something totally different tho

Kaderin Triste 01-12-2018 09:53 PM

That is true. And also are a type of candy.

Same with Sugar Daddy...

Mekatra 01-12-2018 09:55 PM

There's a bigger version of them called a Sugar Daddy too XD
