Well, I usually have this tradition: I buy her a new ornament for the tree every year. But she spent all her money on gifts for us kids, and, when we went to go get the tree a little while ago... it was 50 bucks. and she didnt have enough.

I think it's awesome that you helped her out.
Most people around me don't value their family like that.
