o3o DK wears a 9-10 in mens shoes.. My foot is almost as big as Codas? ;o;

Johnny Cash wore size 13 ouo -we had a mens size 15 custom made come through the mission once.. THEY WERE HUUUGE!-

Men's flats? I would never have been allowed to do that for my best friend's wedding and possibly not for my mother's either though she was more lenient and didn't make me wear a dress but I love that idea.
Hell, I'd much rather dress up period in a tux than a dress.

If I could find stuff that'd work well like that, then I'd be in heels every time I go out. I've got a couple pairs of high heels, but I can't wear them very often because of all the aforementioned foot issues...

and I wear, depending on the style, 7.5-8 in men's sizes. No need for wide widths there!

Men and women don't have as much difference in foot size as people think. If a man and a woman are the same height, the woman's probably only going to wear a half size to a full size smaller shoe.

You can actually get the inserts custom-molded to your particular needs so that a separate wedge isn't even necessary. It costs a lot of money, but the inserts then last for YEARS.

Glitch 02-09-2016 08:38 PM

unless you have my dog. who likes to eat shoe inserts for some strange and bizarre reason.

Coda 02-09-2016 08:39 PM

The ones my mom had were cast in a pretty solid resin. Dog might get teeth marks in them but unlikely to destroy them (although I suppose with teeth marks they'd be pretty uncomfortable to wear, which defeats the purpose).

That's interesting. I actually have a lot of men's graphic t-shirts that aren't as huge on me as you might think they should be.
Sometimes, like at my local Kohl's the men's section has a way better selection than the women's.

On another note, I must vent something: My title just changed again and UGH NO! I CAN'T STAND ZUCCHINI! XP

Coda 02-09-2016 09:44 PM

I... did not know we had a zucchini title. o.o

Also I tend to consider t-shirts to be more "unisex" than "men's" -- that is, you have "unisex" and "babydoll" instead of "men's" and "women's."

Glitch 02-09-2016 09:48 PM

Ya it's just the cut on the sleeves. I have shirts that would fit my bf but he won't wear them because of the sleeves.

Yup. Tasty Zucchini (WHICH IS A HUGE LIE). My title is still the default rotation because my custom request hasn't been fulfilled yet. It's been like two days. Where are the staff?

As to graphic t-shirts, there CAN be a significant difference. There is a variety known as 'Women's cut' which tends to mean that it's form fitting and v-neck. Whereas a "men's cut" is a common reference to the standard neckline and lose variety.
I'm not a fan of form fitting myself, especially not with this chubby belly I've got and I can't stand v-neck, I'm too modest.

Den 02-09-2016 11:43 PM

Men's t-shirts tend to be what I default toward. Mostly because the "women's" t-shirts tend to look ridiculous on me, for a couple reasons. The least of which is my short-in-relation-to-my-height torso (I'm not even joking on that. from my belly button to the bottom of my sternum is less than the length of my hand from the tip of my middle finger to the base of my palm. and from my waist to hips, it's only about 2-3 inches. But my legs are super long, which is where I get all of my height).

Plus, guys' shirts have better designs, imo. Especially in terms of nerdy/geeky things. Though I do have a couple Transformers t-shirts that I adore that are babydoll cut.

That is the appeal for me besides the loose fit.

At least around here, they're just called "t-shirts" and "babydoll tees" instead of "men's" and "women's." I've seen a few v-neck non-form-fitted shirts but not usually graphic tees, and for what it's worth I've seen a few v-neck t-shirts being sold in the men's section (though they've always been flat color, so they may be intended for undershirts that don't show under the collar of a button-up shirt).

Awen Moonshine 02-10-2016 08:55 AM

I like the shaping of babydoll/ladies tees, but they frequently come up either short or too tight on me (even when I buy the largest size) because of my weird body... I have large but not very perky boobs and a lot of excess skin around my waist area from being pregnant twice... As such I either have to find american size tees or go with mens, but I'm not fond of the high round necks and lack of shape of them... :(

I also have stupidly large hips from having my daughter nearly 2 years ago.. My top half is a UK size 14/16 but my bottom half is closer to a UK size 18/20 :( And because my thighs are large it makes finding trousers/shorts/tights that fit stupidly difficult to find and get... I have quite a few troubles with my feet too, but that's a different matter entirely ^_^;; *is falling apart*

Tohopekaliga 02-10-2016 11:38 AM

I added the "Tasty Zucchini" title a week or two ago. You only have it for a few posts. :P

It came from a discussion of edible titles, and one person being a vegetarian, hehe.

Cute. I was only messin' around about it though I meant what I said, I can't stand Zucchini.
As you can see I got passed it, hehe, and I have a custom request I'm waiting on.

Please send the zucchini to me. I will eat it raw, with lemon and salt. Or fry it with eggs. XD

T-shirt wise, I hate the sleeves on babydoll and woman's Tees. My arms are big, and I hate the fabric being pulled up into my underarms. Yuck no. That's like RedRum and zucchini.

Demonskid 02-10-2016 04:12 PM

Glitch 02-10-2016 04:16 PM

I would update your title for you but I don't have those powers :< And If I do . . . nobody ever explained them to me so I have no idea.

My torso is tiny so I could wear children's shirts if I wanted too! But I have pretty big hips so they scrunch up pretty easily.

I also see a ton of men wearing V-necks so that does not define women's verse men's shirts anymore.

Then again I live in Portland so . . .

Will do when I come across any. Or rather I'll try, my mother loves it so she might want it.

I haven't seen a lot of that in this part of California, at least I don't believe so but I don't pay much attention to what the people around me are wearing. I can say with certainty that I've seen it on TV so I know it to be true.

I'm just big all over. I've got a large bosom area, and in US sizes, my upper body's 18/20 depending on the cut of the top, but my bottom half is 22/24, again depending on the cut. I've also got very long legs, so finding trousers that fit properly is a PITA. I'm also very picky about how long my shorts are, because anything shorter than 2 inches above the knee tends to ride up on me.

It also makes finding long boots a huge hassle because, from years of walking and playing soccer and riding my bike as a kid/preteen/teenager, my calves are massive. I have to get extended calf sizes on the long boots, or go up two whole shoe sizes, just to find things that aren't too tight.

Oh right. Forgot my short short legs and long body. XD And I too have calves of beef. And a set in stone aversion to getting a razor anywhere near my legs.

For me, Jeans can be weird. Typically I'm a 5 but I've got a pair that are 7 and one that are 13 which apart from being a bit loose around my waist work fine. The 13's have to be yanked up here and there but that's not an issue for me. The 7's don't.

*gag* I remember years ago having to pull one of my mother's Zucchini that had molded into squishiness out of the veggie drawer and throw it out. OMG so nasty! :p-ugh:

Demonskid 02-11-2016 06:28 PM

Rum- Why do they let that happen!? D8

RedRum 02-11-2016 06:45 PM

I don't know but I'd asked myself that same question as I was struggling to keep from gagging while I disposed of that nasty thing. I think my mom let that happen at least one other time but I refused to ever touch a rotten Zucchini again!

Demonskid 02-11-2016 06:54 PM

at least no one dropped it D8 I had to help clean it up then take it to the dumpster.

Coda 02-11-2016 07:44 PM

Women's clothes sizing is a crapshoot anyway. Different brands use different sizes, and some will use smaller numbers for bigger sizes to make you feel better about buying it, plus women have much more variable body shape than men so the fit will vary based on where on the garment the size was measured and how the garment is tailored.

Which is one of the biggest complaints most of my friends have about clothes... besides the lack of pockets. I wish the fashion industry would clue in that not all women want to carry around a purse. I'd rather just have deep pockets, so I can make it less obvious when I'm carrying things like my debit card, my ID, and/or my cell phone.

Oh I actually had to get a size 2 pair of jeans once at Old Navy because their sizes are gigantic, those didn't last long.
My shirt sizes are all over the place, depending on the make, I can be a medium or a large. I'm only ever a small in men's sizes.

Word! it was hell for my aunt to fulfill 'sweatpants with pockets' on my Birthday/Christmas wishlist a couple of years ago because sweatpants aren't commonly made with them.
I carry around either a full size or miniature backpack but I like to keep my phone in a front pocket and two pairs of jeans I own while they are among my favorites don't have front pockets which can be annoying. Sometimes I'll settle for using the back pocket but that's more often than not uncomfortable while sitting.

nickjr 02-12-2016 07:14 AM

OMG YES THEY NEVER MAKE SWEATPANTS WITH POCKETS

so I always have to carry my phone in my jacket pocket orz I don't like jeans or anything resembling jeans (despite what my avatar's wearing; I switched to the non-sparkly Gala Pants ASAP on UF because they looked more like sweatpants lol) because they're too stiff for me haha plus I've found maybe two pairs in my life that don't pinch me where it matters when I sit or run...

On the topic of jeans, I gave up on them when I realized that even THEY are getting see through and thin enough to see cellulite through. Gak!

I asked a friend to make one pair into a skirt. I think this thing is going to be worn to death.
