Alexander Linden 03-31-2011 11:45 AM

I'm a big Star Wars fan.

ZoraStar 03-31-2011 07:31 PM

So have you heard of the Mercs?

ZoraStar 04-02-2011 12:54 AM

Alexander Linden 04-04-2011 02:50 PM

Yeah... I'm sorry. I have a lot of things I'm working on at the moment, and don't really check out the hang out forum as often as I used to.

Tainted 04-04-2011 04:45 PM

Sup guys ^^ I think this is the first time Iv stuck my head in this Forum >.> but I saw that you guys weren't the usual anime freak nerds so I was like >D -love- any how ^//^

Corvus 04-05-2011 01:04 PM

Hey alex, long time no chat on the forums

Alexander Linden 05-09-2011 10:45 AM

I am back. This means my hangout is back!
Where are my regs?
or newbies? xD

Fey 05-10-2011 01:36 AM

ah, irony I love you, was debating starting some sorta hang out for american comics...and look, here was the cafe! Timing, you have it.

Alexander Linden 05-10-2011 03:08 PM

haha Yep. Talk about them here! I am a Marvel fan myself. I love X-Men!

Kitty Desu 05-10-2011 04:36 PM

8D Would a WoW fan be welcomed here?

Fey 05-10-2011 06:31 PM

I think I count as an X-men fanatic...or at least freak since I can recite the Summers' family tree upon command >.>...

Alexander Linden 05-10-2011 07:00 PM

Bloo - I'm not a fan myself, but I don't see why not.

Fey - My first crush was Remy Lebeau >.>

Fey 05-10-2011 09:06 PM

First? I'm still ready to move south just to see if I can find him LOL Though I'll admit my hard-core love is Deadpool... cause I love the crazy. I'm pretty much a hard-core x-men fan(outside of the current 'on no, not really dead, j/k') I'm working on getting the full run of back issues...though I know I'll never see anything under issue 110 without winning the lotto.

As to WoW...I thankfully avoided that addiction...mine run towards the paper variety LOL

Alexander Linden 05-11-2011 11:39 AM

Well... One of them. I was very young!

Kitty Desu 05-11-2011 03:58 PM

I managed to avoid the WoW addiction for several years until my brother asked me to at least try the game so that he could have someone he knows IRL to play with... I've been consumed by it ever since. XD (My husband says that once I start playing I became oblivious to his presence, but in reality I'm just ignoring him. ;D)

I'm going to be buying all of the X-Men comics, although I won't be trying for the first runs. XD I'm getting them for my unborn son. ♥ I hope that one day he'll love X-Men as much as me. LOL.

Alexander Linden 05-11-2011 07:30 PM

I didn't want to play it because there's a fee. xD Though, I'm not also a huge fan of the character models.

Fey 05-11-2011 08:46 PM

I cannot wait for my friends to start having kids, they'll grow up on all the tales in my comics, and end up costumed out >.>....<.<...>.>...the parents-to-be have already agreed! LOL

Yeah, I think part of why I never really got hooked into the idea of (most) on-line games is that they'd make you pay. However, as is relevant to our interests here, I believe Marvel is working on a MMORPG that will be fee-free! I know i saw it, information wise, on TDWGeek the other day.

Alexander Linden 05-11-2011 10:25 PM

My daughter begged my dad for a Spiderman costume... xDD
She also loves Batman.

Fey 05-11-2011 10:28 PM

wow, she's got some EXCELLENT taste! For the time being I have a friends 10yo to dress up, last year she was torn between being Woverine and Ironman....we nudged her towards Wolverine cause I already had most of a costume for that LOL

Alexander Linden 05-11-2011 10:30 PM

lol My daughter LOVES Ironman xD
And the Terminator... even though that's not a comic book character... but yeah, little nerd-in-the-making.

Fey 05-12-2011 12:08 AM

oh I dunno, if the Govenator can get a comic I think we can count the Terminator as comic-esque. I only wish the comics today were as fun and connected as the ones when I was little. Now they just seem to regurgitate the bad plot lines and plant whomever in them to make more money.

Alexander Linden 05-12-2011 11:32 AM

Honestly, going back and re-reading them... They are kinda cheesy. xD But you know, we liked them when we were kids! You still like them simply because you remember liking them as a kid... which is how I remember them too. I read some Gambit spin off comics recently, and realized just how corny they used to be. But you know, they didn't ruin my love for Remy! xD

Fey 05-12-2011 09:31 PM

Oh see, I reread them alllllllllllllll the time! Every time I get a new comic to add in I'll read the issues around it, or any related books by story arc. I dunno, I just got tired of them deciding to just bring yet ANOTHER dead character back so they could have aaaaaaaaangst.

Alexander Linden 05-13-2011 12:13 AM

Dead characters? Coming back? This is madness!

Fey 05-13-2011 12:19 AM

happens a looooooooooot lately, which, normally wouldn't bug me, but they were pretty important deaths. Not like reviving Magneto for the nine millionth time.... Cause, that happened. A lot. Ridiculously a lot.

Alexander Linden 05-13-2011 08:32 PM

lol I don't think I read enough of them do see dead characters coming back.

Fey 05-13-2011 11:07 PM

I've just paused in my readings until I can mentally move on...I figure it won't be too much back story to catch up on when I finally start reading consistently again.

Alexander Linden 05-15-2011 09:50 PM

xD I like taking breaks. I hate getting to the end and then having to wait for more material to be released... or to just be at the end with nothing else to read.

Fey 05-16-2011 12:02 AM

huh, sounds like a good bit of reasoning...I think I shall use it rather than the 'I'm too pissed at the writers atm to finance their careers, kthanx'.

Alexander Linden 05-17-2011 09:56 AM

The library is sometimes good for that. I can sometimes find random comics there. I actually read a few X-Men comics that were at my local library.

Fey 05-17-2011 12:08 PM

O.o
I would never have thought of that... which is funny since I recall reading a lot of comics in a library in GA....and I live less than a block from my current one. To the library!

Alexander Linden 05-17-2011 12:33 PM

Libraries are the best! xD

Fey 05-17-2011 01:15 PM

I really don't utilize my local library as I should..part of me fears the procedure to get a card since my license has my old address, and requiring me to bring in a paper statement to my current address would be neigh impossible since all my bills are on-line.... I find this partially amusing as well. To renew/update your legal info you must have paper statements of residency...but everything is pushing to go paperless...way to be on top of things federal government!
