I thought covers were uhn free for all on youtube xD

Demonskid 12-26-2016 09:43 PM

no. if you don't have permission to sing someone else's song, you can get into trouble o3o

ml1201 12-26-2016 10:53 PM

which is a shame because I've seen some very interesting things done for vocals.

Demonskid 12-26-2016 11:20 PM

Vocaloid songs you can sing with out risk of getting into trouble ovo

Lee 12-26-2016 11:48 PM

Well I definitely want to hear you sing.

Demonskid 12-27-2016 08:47 AM

I'm actually working on singing a Cover of Yuri on Ice's opening >w> someone made a karaoke track and I asked if I could use it

ZenKitty 12-27-2016 10:51 AM

DK, am I remembering correctly that you did a song for UF back when they had that song contest so many years ago?

Lee 12-27-2016 12:36 PM

I did a song for Cruinne.. not UF oxo I didn't know UF had a contest for a song xD

mdom 12-27-2016 01:46 PM

Ah, in case of gaining money you can't make covers right... hm, gotta go for indie artists then xD

Demonskid 12-27-2016 02:02 PM

yea.. no monies and the Youtube channel can get banned too if you get too many copyright strikes

ml1201 12-27-2016 02:57 PM

In some cases I think they are way to hammery with that on Youtube. I had done a tribute video as practice for something, even gave credit to the original artist and everything, and they removed the music from the video. They left me a message saying I had to use teh version of the song in their listing for stuff like that, but they didn't even have the song listed. And I wasn't making any money from it or anything, so if anything it was just free advertising for the band and the manga that I did it for.

Demonskid 12-27-2016 03:00 PM

its the record companies that request for things to be taken down ono

ml1201 12-27-2016 03:11 PM

Well, after I sent in a thing about it and how the song is not listed on their site, they restored the sound to the video. But I ended up deleting it later on anyways. But its not always them that do it because there are people who make free music as long as you credit them for it and those will get flagged too even though the people using it has permission.

Demonskid 12-27-2016 03:15 PM

meh that sucks o3o

ml1201 12-27-2016 03:32 PM

Yeah, so youtube is a bit of a butt when it comes to those things.
