The day care is only for breeding on GPX+, I just double checked the FAQ.

I remember I once named my Ditto "Babymaker" and left it in the daycare on Diamond and used it to breed. It ended up being like 58, it was level 20 when I put it in there.

Yeah I have a ditto in my diamond game that was level 29 when I put it in and it level 73 now. xD
