Hares are obscure animals that don't get any love D':

daikokunyo 12-25-2015 12:14 AM

The C pic is disquieting bc I can't tell what's going on o.o shadow play? But who's the dead person?

Monorea 12-25-2015 05:33 AM

Aren't they making rice cakes or something?

daikokunyo 12-25-2015 08:19 AM

Now you mention it, it does look like a mortal and pestle. Thanks for alleviating the disquietitude :p-cute:

Den 12-25-2015 08:47 AM

They're prolly pounding out mochi, which is a traditional New Year's activity in Japan.

Monorea 12-25-2015 09:42 AM

Wasnt that what i just said?

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 01:39 PM

so how is everybody doing today?

Monorea 12-25-2015 01:40 PM

Good just good, have had a hearty meal and will probably watch a nice movie and eat candy later.

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 01:41 PM

nice, i had boiled beef with crackers and cheese XD

Monorea 12-25-2015 02:09 PM

The way you say that makes it more sound like snacks than a proper meal.

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 02:12 PM

We've had a very emotional day with too many presents. We're just about to have dinner (hog roast with sweet potato fries and sprouts) ^_^

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 02:12 PM

the way i ate it was more like snacks XD left all the veg in the pot took no broth

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 02:12 PM

what sort of sprouts?

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 02:14 PM

Brussel sprouts ^_^ I love them but my partner hates them XD

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 02:17 PM

have they had them cored and roasted? those are usually a win even with the anti-brussels crowd XD

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 02:21 PM

I don't think he has. I'll have to give that a try. ^_^

Monorea 12-25-2015 02:32 PM

what do you mean cored?
and i usually light boil the brussel sprouts and then fry them with a bit sugar and lots of curry.

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 02:49 PM

it means removing the core so that it is gone. the core has the bitter part of the brussel and why it smells funky XD it is much more palatable when it is removed

Monorea 12-25-2015 03:14 PM

It doesnt smell or taste much different than most other cabbage.
Normal cabbage usually smells much more.
Besides removing the core of something that small just seems silly.

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 03:40 PM

OMG guys! My partner just proposed!!!

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 04:26 PM

-shrugs- it's like taking the skin off of a kiwi or grape, small but done often enough

congrats!

Monorea 12-25-2015 04:39 PM

Why would you remove the skin from kiwis or grapes? It seems unnecessary except if the kiwi isnt quite ripe then the skin can be a bit too sour.

COngratz Awen

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 04:53 PM

the texture is unappealing or else the skin is culturally seen as 'gross' XD technically you can eat all of an orange but the pith and seeds but people still peel those

Monorea 12-25-2015 04:59 PM

Well its much ticker and harder but even if you dont eat orange peels directly you still use it for stuff like to give extra taste to cakes or in marmalade.

Den 12-25-2015 05:09 PM

Congratulations, Awen!!!

I just slice my Brussels sprouts in half, toss 'em with some olive oil, then sprinkle a bit of salt and pepper on 'em before roasting 'em in the oven (350F for about 15 minutes). Simple, and they taste phenomenal

Monorea 12-25-2015 05:13 PM

Maybe i should try that next time but my mom probably wouldnt eat that since she wants all her cabbage boiled because otherwise she become ill, btw what is that in celsius?

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 05:39 PM

Thank you everyone <3 We've been together for nearly 6 years and I was beginning to think it would never happen ^_^;;

I prefer my sprouts steamed if I have a choice in the matter.

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 05:46 PM

but you don't eat them entirely whole do you? like biting into an apple?

Monorea 12-25-2015 05:48 PM

Well if you were getting impatient you could always have proposed yourself at an earlier point in time?
I eat apples and pears entirely except the twig that sticks out on top.

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 05:51 PM

They are only small... Although I am surprised my daughter like sprouts too ^_^

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 05:53 PM

I wasn't exactly getting impatient, I just didn't think he would as neither of us are particularly religious...

Monorea 12-25-2015 05:55 PM

Proposing is religious? Really?

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 05:58 PM

Marriage is religious and not something we've ever seriously thought about, but I guess I shall have to look into things somewhat more now. And start saving... ^_^;;

Monorea 12-25-2015 06:01 PM

Well couldn't marriages be purely legal and not religious?
Yeah weddings are ridiculously expensive xP

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 06:08 PM

They can be, but they tend to be in quite grotty council buildings, and we cannot afford to wed at the moment. I'm hoping my business will take off more in the next year so I am able to save for a wedding I want rather than just one I could afford without getting into debt.

Monorea 12-25-2015 06:11 PM

What color dress are you gonna wear? Classical white?

littl3chocobo 12-25-2015 06:22 PM

i will take that as you not eating entire oranges skin and all at one time XD

if you have not really thought about it then does that mean it was not really much of a wait? XD

Awen Moonshine 12-25-2015 06:32 PM

I'm actually going to wear traditional wedding kimono. I already have everything to wear that in my collection already and it gives me the perfect excuse to finally wear it, even if it is just the once. ^_^;;

It was and it wasn't... Time just seems to have flown ^_^;;

According to Google, for ovens, it's 180 C, or gas mark 4 if you have a gas oven.

Best of luck to you, Anwen. May you and your partner have many happy decades together :)

Monorea 12-25-2015 06:38 PM

Oh a kimono? Thats cool. I wish i had some interesting clothes but it's just normal boring old stuff.
