I am working on learning nalbinding finally and my teacher told me I have to make at least one "catapiller" every day this week and then she'll show me something new next week. It's very medatative. I feel silly making 7-8 inch long strands. It feels a bit like a waste of wool.
|
Am trying to talk myself into working on the custom cat I need to finish. I don't wanna because it's a real bitch with all the color changing on the face and legs to do. XP
|
That sounds like a huge pain in the rear... you should do it!
|
Mek I wanna eat your avi
|
Trying to find one of my yarn winders so I can separate out some balls of the black and white yarns to make the color changes more seamless when it comes to sewing the face up.
As I discovered with the body, if I don't twist the yarns at each side of the color changes, I end up with a lot of loose stitches to sew up later. XP |
You should eat my avi. It is delicious and nutritious. It is flu season, make sure you are eating hearty meals.
Oooh ball winder is nice. I have to do mine by hand. Does yours really work? |
Mine are pretty simple ones you have to crank by hand, but they work pretty well. The one that clamps to the table is better than the other one because I can turn the handle crank with one hand and use the other hand to keep the yarn tension so it makes a good yarn cake instead of a misshapen lump.
Lol. |
Yay! schlorp
Delicious |
Have mapped out rows for the cat face and am working on it now. And holy hell my yarn is looking like such a freaking mess....
Hopefully it turns out pretty close so I don't have to re-do it. XP |
Here's hoping it turns out well
Some time in the future this page is gonna look weird cuz mek changed their avi |
Cat face is about half made. Have 3 more rows on the second ear to finish row 10 out of 21 rows. XP
It's hard to tell, but I think it may look okay so far... |
working on my sleeve things.
|
I want to change my avi but despite having a lot of stuff, I don't have much that matches
Oof |
|
kitty!
that's adorable! |
It was a massive pain in the ass and I think I did the ear rows backwards so the back side of the cat is actually mirrored from how it's supposed to be. And I did too much black on one side of the face and because it was such a bitch to make I did the "lazy" fix, instead of remaking the head, and just attempted to stitch over the black stitches with white yarn.
Except a couple small threads/stitches, I don't think that's too noticeable though. Now just gotta make 2 legs, remake 1 other leg, and finish assembling! |
